The person who answered the phone was very cheerful and was able to schedule an appointment for me very quickly. When I walked in to this location, I was greeted by the front desk associate. She was very friendly and it made me feel valued and welcomed. She told me that my stylist wasn't there yet, but would be with me as soon as she arrived. My stylist, Sarah, arrived a few moments later and warmly greeted me. I followed her back to her station, and we talked a little bit about what I was looking for. I showed her a photo I found on Pinterest, and she said she would be able to help me achieve the hairstyle I was looking for. I went in with hair a little longer than my shoulders, and left with a very cute pixie haircut! Sarah did a great job balancing conversation with efficiency in her service. I enjoyed how quickly yet thoroughly she was able to cut my hair. I received a wash, and she put curl cream in my hair when she was done. I appreciate the extra attention to detail she gave to my hair. I was very nervous going in, but I appreciate that she didn't hesitate to give me what I wanted. I walked out of there very happy with my haircut. If I didn't live an hour away from here, I would definitely return to make her my primary stylist. Thank you, Sarah!

The services requested were to thoroughly wash, treated, cut, and blow dry my daughter's hair that is natural, thick, and curly, and for the records, the same services had been provided to both my daughter and I at least once before. When I showed up with my daughter, the same older lady who informed she was the owner looked at us strangely and asked how she could help; so, I proceeded to tell her that I had scheduled an appointment with her and she had confirm that the services I requested could be provided and that she recorded the appointment in her book. She looked at the book and saw the appointment; she then walked over and started looking and touching my daughter's hair strangely and went on to say that "we cannot do that kind of hair", and I quickly reminded her that not only I had scheduled the appointment with her and that she also said she has a lady who can do it because she herself was already booked, and that I then reminded her that "Yes, another lady had taken care of her hair before". She once again said to us "well, I do not have people who can do this kind of hair, she has really kinky hair, I cannot do kinky hair", and at this point, I was doing my best to remain calm as I looked at my poor daughter's sad and hurt face whom I can tell is feeling crush more and more with every hurtful and demeaning words out of the woman's mouth and is also feeling sadder for me, her mom, whom she can tell was feeling insulted by this awfully distasteful lady who was denigrating and humiliating us in front her staff and clientele because we did not have silky straight hair. If you are still reading, you may be asking why I am now writing this review. Well, this horrible incident came up when I was having lunch with a friend of mine who recently moved to the area and I was referring her to a salon when the people were respectful, humane, professional, courteous, and kind, and I made sure to tell her to stay away from "La Carmen" where my daughter and I had been treated unkindly and unprofessionally; so, she asked me if I had written a review about my grotesque experience, and only then that it dawned on me that I should because I would not want anyone else to have to experience what we went through that horrifying and disappointing Saturday morning when we showed up for our scheduled appointment. If it was possible to give a MINUS ZERO STAR, I would do just that. I made the mistake of getting my hair cut and styled on a cruise ship. At an exorbitant cost at…read morethat! After a few days, I took scissors to it to try to fix the sides and my hair was a mess. I called this UltraCuts shop. I had been there years before with another stylist. I let the receptionist know that I had a bad haircut and then I tried to fix it myself and I needed somebody who could cut short hair on women. She's suggested I come in and have Danilo cut my hair. I just walked out and my hair is amazing! They listened to what I wanted and came up with a few pictures that I agreed to and it's perfect. Forever fan and will be back for cutting color next month.
