I recently had a frustrating experience at this Ulta location that left me genuinely disappointed. I approached a group of "employees" on the floor and asked for help finding a lip gloss shade suited to my complexion. They directed me to a woman with orange-dyed hair who offered to assist me. She immediately steered me toward the e.l.f. display, but since I was interested in exploring Fenty and Dior, I let her know I'd love to look at other lines. She didn't follow me at first -- I had to call her over. When I brought her to the Dior counter and asked for a recommendation, she actually said, 'It's $50 -- why would you want to pay that?' I was completely taken aback. I own and love Dior products and was fully prepared to purchase. We moved to Fenty, where she pointed at the display, said 'this is Fenty,' and turned to walk away. When I asked her to help me find a flattering shade, she told me there were too many options and I should just try them on myself -- and left. The most shocking part? I found out afterward she wasn't a Ulta employee at all. She was an e.l.f. brand representative who had no business guiding me away from other products and no interest in actually helping me. Ulta staff should be aware of who is on their floor representing their store to customers. read more

dejah has such weird attitude. ulta will try to sell you opened & used items for full price guys. ofc the last two items i wanted were out of stock. dejah didn't understand why id be puzzled by the lack of cleanliness of the eyeliners i tried to show her. she argued that one of them comes opened. i said yeah but its used & has shit all over it. she quickly realized she was wrong for arguing l0l i dont understand the weird bitter attitude you work at ulta. it's not that serious. a girl just wanted to see if you guys would actually charge the full price for used damaged items. which they do. check all your products yall. read more

Overall Rating: 1.5 Stars The customer service is non-existent here! Parking: There is plenty of parking available in the shared lot with other businesses. Ambiance/Decor: This is a really nice and spacious ULTA location. Everything for the most part is nice and organized. Customer Service: Awful. I have been to this location a handful of times and honestly, the customer service has just been consistently terrible. There are a ton of employees walking around, yet they rarely greet customers or ask if help is needed. On the days that I have actually purchased in store, the customer service was just blah, nothing spectacular. Product Selection: I normally will just come here for something specific like press on nails or skin care items and they do seem to always have what I need in stock. Overall: Overall, although this is a nice location as far as the product selection and space goes, it is not enough for me to come here to shop again. I feel that I would get better service ordering online and having it shipped to me. I hope this review helps you decide on where to shop for your beauty faves in the Summerlin, Las Vegas area! Great place for many of your beauty needs since they carry so many different brands. This store is pretty clean and organized at most times. Only issue is that sometimes I cannot find what I'm looking for since they don't have it in stock. This can obviously happen anywhere. In general I come here once in a while since I don't wear a lot of makeup but I do also grab hair and body products. They do makeovers at this location as well. read more

Makeup up application by Sabrina. Sabrina beat my face like it owed her money! Super fun and enthusiastic when I arrived. We consulted on what I liked and don't like, I hate bronzer and she worked around that perfectly, my concerns with regards to age etc, chose the colors and let her go to work. Not only did the beat look AMAZING and her sanitation ON POINT , I got compliments all night, and it lasted me from 2 PM until 12 midnight when I got home. Well worth the time and money. Seriously, it's been almost a year of trying different places and just not quite getting what I was after. Well, I finally found an absolute gem at Ulta Beauty, Downtown Summerlin Mall. Her name is Valerie, and I honestly can't sing her praises enough. She actually takes the time to listen - truly listen - to what you want, which feels like a rare superpower these days, right? She completely nailed the whole "blending" technique and understood perfectly when I said I wanted a "soft" look, not something harsh or overly structured. And her eye for color is fantastic too; the subtle highlights she added are exactly what I was hoping for. She really knows her stuff when it comes to shades and making everything look natural. I'm genuinely so relieved to have finally found someone who just gets it. I'm already looking forward to my next appointment with her! Just thought I'd share my little beauty victory. read more

This used to be my favorite Ulta in town. I recently visited and wasn't offered any help by any employees until checkout. Once I got up to the cashier, she was extremely pushy with trying to get me to sign up for the Ulta Credit Card (with a 30% APR rate). I had to tell her no multiple times, and then she just became flat out rude. There were also 3 employees hanging out at the front of the store while the line got up to about 5 or 6 people. I don't go shopping at Ulta to be pressured by the salespeople. I also don't go there to be ignored and wait in long lines. I would skip shopping here. read more

My one problem I have is anytime I ask about a certain product the workers always seem to lie or just not ask someone else if we have said item in stock or not. I get it if you're not allowed to say you have a certain product yet until it's released but then say that vs "we don't know" Not the first time this has happened to me. I use the water based foundation from Chanel (fantastic foundation btw) I ask this lady if they had any in stock and she proceeded to tell me they were discontinuing that foundation and they were out and I shouldn't bother to go to Macy or Dillard right next door. So i was bummed out because it's my favorite foundation. But I went to Dillard anyways just to check. I asked the worker there and she said "this is one of our most popular foundations, no it's not being discontinued." I just was appalled that one worker would tell me this because maybe she didn't get the sale?? But honestly that's weird??? Other time was asking about Kylie's new perfume if they were going to have it when it was released. The worker goes "we don't know" and I just simply asked "will you know on the 21st?" (Because that's when it came out). She goes "like I said we don't know" and in my head I just can't help and think WHY NOT ASK IF YOU DONT KNOW??? Customer service. I had a bad experience with Val and the manager Dominque. First, I went to Val because I had talked to her many times about my hair. She was totally different when I sat down in the chair. I showed her three times what I wanted. Walked out totally different. I called her up the next day and she said that I liked my hair when I left. The lighting in stores, beauty shops is totally different than at home. I asked her what she could do and she said "try someone else." She then told me she didn't want to correct my hair. Enough about Val. Dominque is another sad story. I like ulta because it's near my home , so I will let you know that it's extremely expensive. You choose a price when you make an appointment but at the end the stylist charges you three times what you go for. I put in for highlights, I got a price of $114 . Took 3 hours to do and I have short hair. The stylist never mentioned that it would cost extra for color and highlights. The total was $280 , this is three times what I expected! I will not go here again ! How can you go to a place where it does not post how much the service is going to cost at the END! read more

I didn't really enjoy my shopping experience here when we came in on a Sunday afternoon. While I understand the store was closing soon (approx 20 min), from the moment we walked in, it felt as if we were not welcomed and the employees were less focused on providing a comfortable shopping experience and more focused on ushering everyone out as quickly as possible. Even when I attempted to ask an employee a question about a perfume scent, I felt like she didn't take time nor effort to understand what I was truly asking versus quickly jumping to an answer that was ultimately irrelevant to my question. After I stood my ground and rephrased the question, she did finally point me in the right direction. Then, the girl who helped me check out and purchase the perfume was rather unhelpful as well. There's very little room at the checkout counter to put your purse and any other items you might have. I had came in with some frozen yogurt and did not see a trash can in sight up at the front. When I asked if I could please toss the empty container into the trash can, I was told "no"--I ended up having to walk one store over just to be able to toss it away. This was mostly a major inconvenience when I was trying to perform a balancing act grabbing my wallet to pay for a product at the cramped counter. Looking back on it, the experience was entirely frustrating because I didn't feel like a valued customer--I felt like the last $130 they could squeeze in and shoo out the door on a Sunday. While they have a decent selection and ease of access to a plethora of beauty products, so do many other stores. I will be revisiting the store later today to return the 3.4 oz bottle of perfume that I bought, and I won't be returning. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE! Spent $80 on a curling iron here and the spring stopped working properly after only 2 1/2 months of 'gentle care'. All I wanted to do was exchange it, as the one I purchased was obviously defective. Because it was over the 60 day return policy (JUST 2 WEEKS OVER, BTW, 2 WEEKS!!!) they refused to exchange it stating that I have to return it to the manufacturer. Really??!!!! What an inconvenience, And who has time for that? I have purchased this same curling iron in the past and it lasted several years, so this was obviously a defective purchase, and OBVIOUSLY ULTA DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCTS (or junk) THAT THEY SELL, despite the costliness of the product. They would not even consider a store credit, or even an exchange....UNBELIEVABLE! From this point forward, I will only shop at NORDSTROM OR SEPHORA where they sell the SAME products but with the integrity of a quality company; they stand behind the products that they sell. Again, this was only 2 WEEKS beyond their return policy and only 2 1/2 months after the purchase of an $80 item. All I wanted was the same or equivalent item for exchange, I was not expecting or asking for a refund. On a last note, the manager was extremely rude and callous. I myself, could never work for a company that has such little integrity and thoughtlessness for customers. I give this ULTA, and the manager , '0' stars. I will NEVER shop here again. read more

I was shopping for a set of new lipsticks in post virus make up spree. Gabriella was helping me to select the right texture and longevity from MAC display. She was lovely, polite, experienced and very detailed (and considering her age - around 18-20 years old) I was very impressed. It was a real joy to share with her my final choices and I am still very happy with $80 plus lipstick haul :). It would be impossible without her expert advice. Ulta in general, is fantastic place to get cosmetics and make up - this location in Summerlin especially. it's well lit, awesomely organized and well stocked. I was trying to find a blurring translucent powder, and I had help from a very helpful, younger woman who helped me narrow it down to a few. After she answered my questions I went to put back the Laura Mercier option. The older brunette employee working near Laura Mercier (I'm assuming off commission for sales) approached me, asking how she could help and I said I was just returning the mini size back to its place cause I wasn't purchasing it. She asked why not, which one am I purchasing instead. I opted to try the Polite Society brand which was a bigger size for less money with really great reviews. This woman started berating me for my choice and passively aggressively shamed me for choosing the cheaper option and says "Wow does a $10 difference really mean that much to you versus having better quality product products???" It was really really embarrassing, and I mentioned it to the girls upfront. I really don't appreciate being financially shamed on my lovely shopping day where I didn't ask for her opinion in the first place. My two star review is purely for the help I did receive earlier in my visit to Ulta. The deduction of three stars is for the very rude employee that made me second-guess my purchase. read more

There are great brands and products here, but I try to do all my Ulta shopping online to avoid the checkout line. I am not sure why, but no matter how many registers they have open this place tends to be overflowing with customers doing complicated returns, figuring out how to pay for things with various payment methods and coupons, and so on. Never ever takes less than 10 minutes to get through the checkout line. read more

Sierra at the Clinique counter is amazing. I was looking for a foundation and as she was testing swatches, she noticed my (very) neglected, dry and flaky skin and was able to suggest a night moisturizer, a redness reducing cream, a great dark spot corrector as well as a perfectly matched foundation, lip product, eye shadow, eye liner and mascara. I've been neglecting my skin since giving birth to my son last year. I've been in desperate need for guidance and just someone to help me with a new skin care regimen. I am leaving this review because I want to recognize an employee named Sierrah. I told her that I was attending a wedding out of state, which was a very important event for me. She listened patiently, took the time to find me the right products for my skin, and colors to complement the gown I was going to wear. She put together an entire look for me and explained how to apply everything so that I would be able to replicate the same look on my special day. I have never felt so taken care of and her personality and the rapport she established with me, made me feel like a valued Ulta customer. It also helped me feel comfortable trying a new product line, (Clinique) that I had never tried before. For this reason I spent over $300 that day and the next time I need anything beauty related, I will definitely make Ulta my "Go-To" store. Employees are a reflection of the customer service mindset of the store and the culture being cultivated within the store, for this reason, I want to also acknowledge the store managers role in adding Sierrah to the team.
