I dont shop alot at ulta but i buy random stuff here and there. One of my go to items are travel perfumes and lip balms. So far been shopping at this location for awhile now i hardly ask for help for products because i really dont do make up and i dont know how. My review is mainly about the perfume section, i know alot of theft is going on and locking these expensive perfume is the best course of action i get it. BUT what i dont get is when employees makes you feel that you are bothering them for asking to TEST multiple perfume at this visit that i got upset was i tried 5-6 perfume 5 of them was gucci and the last one was the YSL... So with the ysl this is 1 of my go to perfumes for the big bottles, BUT due to me getting into small travel perfumes the box is different from the big ones compared to the small ones so i asked the lady for my final test is just to smell that ysl to make sure its the exact one that i like so that i wont buy the wrong one, she gave me the NO that should be the same the original one and started walking towards the travel bottles, but i kindly say CAN i try it first just to make sure? She walked back opened and sprayed it on the tester paper and i said great this is it. But she seemed annoyed and whatever. And this is what i did not like about that interaction. Kid you not the 5 perfume that i asked to smell was the same product line i did not ask her different perfume from different case it was the same case 1 row of gucci perfume trying to smell them finding a scent i like to add to the ones i have already... So she only opened 2 case for me side by side. Bought the ysl and let the interaction marinated for a bit, a customer shouldn't feel like we are bothering employees, i was nice saying please explaining myself. All i wanted is to make sure it was the right ysl. And not only that it took awhile for someone to help me employees were passing by and not 1 even tried to asked if i needed help i had to walk to the front and ask for help and got that lady that i felt was annoyed me asking. It just not a nice feeling, esp that the company chose to lock all of them. read more

I had purchased with Instacart which doesn't give a receipt and what I anticipated was not what i experienced, just fantastic ! I appreciated her professionalism and kindness and willingness to help . I will return to shopping with Ulta because of this . I used to shop at the Ulta at the DTS location. I just stopped in to drop off some beauty containers to recycle but I ended up browsing the skincare and beauty lines, no Tatcha, my favorite brand. But they did have Pacifica, another favorite. I noticed SolaWave. They did also have Bare Minerals & Tarte. I checked out the marked down stuff. I spotted some concealer. Bright inside. There were lots of sales clerks. The cashier changed my email address. Easy-peasy. The parking lot is kind of a big blind-spot; the store is on the same side as Dollar Tree and Office Depot- not there anymore. read more

I have been at this store (SW part of the Las Vegas valley) three times. I ordered Urban Decay makeup from my app & chose the in-store pickup option. The first pickup experience was a breeze, where a female staff approached me & asked if I needed assistance. And she led me to the online order pickup counter. The second in store pickup online order experience was OK. I was not aware that if I didn't pick up my online order in a week, the items will be returned to the shelf. It was beyond my control for not meeting the pickup deadline, due to my illness. I was very sick w/ Bronchitis & cold, which required urgent care visits & Rx medications. When I received the "final" email notification from ULTA, I called the store directly & was informed that my CC won't be charged since the merchandise wasn't picked up. The staff offered to "save" my items inside the cabinet, to mitigate the probability of others buying them. I politely thanked her, and went in the store the next day to pick them up. Luckily, the checkout line was very short. The checkout cashier was nice & efficient. I will revisit this location again in the future. read more

I'm not the type (man) who generally goes into a cosmetics store but a sister was coming in town for a visit and I thought it would be a good idea to have a blow dryer around for hair and such. An associate helped me pick out a powerful BaBliss model. When I plugged it in the ground fault popped and the machine wouldn't run. I just hate returing things but the staff were very accomodating and had me out the door with a dryer that worked 'cause I had them try it in the store. Very good customer service. I honestly wanted to wait till I had more bad experiences to write a proper review and here it goes. I've came to this Ulta numerous times and the staff are never available. I've hung around the fragrance area or makeup area waiting for someone even when they see me waiting, they just keep walking. This is a convenient location for me, but I usually avoid this location due to bad service. Every location I've been to I've always been able to get a sample because I don't like spending money on a product just have to come all the way back to return it. On this particular day I had just spent over $200 and wanted to try a sample of the NARS foundation. I've been to numerous Ultas and gotten samples with no issues so that I can truly try out the product and see if it works out with my combination acne prone skin over the years. The associate here stated it's within their policy that they can only provide Clinique samples, this is news for me since I have been to almost every Ulta in the city and never had an issue. I highly recommend you check out the Ulta in downtown Summerlin. They are way more friendly and attentive and have no issues providing samples. I won't be returning here unless I have a return. read more

My mother and I came in for their hair services and received an amazing cut and blow out by Bianca. Bianca is very professional and reached out before our appointment to get details on what we were looking for and we left with 10/10 hair!! Our hair was lifeless and Bianca gave us the layers we needed to give our hair the volume it was lacking. My mom and I have thick curly /wavy hair so it can sometimes be a challenge finding the right stylist that knows how to cut our hair. I was excited when they opened so close to home but the customer service here is terrible. I'm fairly new to shopping Ulta so I'm not familiar with the rewards program nor their protocol for redeeming points. About a month ago I walked in and group of employees were standing around talking as I entered. I browsed and not once was I asked if I needed help. I got in line and paid for purchases. An older lady in front of me asked for assistance and I observed employees try to figure who would help her. After the cashier scanned my purchases I was getting ready to pay and asked if I had points. She told me she would have to cancel the entire purchase to check. That seemed odd to me so I said nevermind. I paid. The overall experience was not great so I checked my receipt for a survey none. So I called the store and expressed my concerns to a manager. The manager I spoke to said it is not their policy to ask you when they start a transaction if you are going to use points. I guessed I missed that memo because no one ever told me the process when I signed up. I told her about my experience in the store and that not only I but others were not assisted in the store. This phone call went no where, as I got the impression she was probably one of the persons standing around talking and not assisting customers in the store. Today I went in looked around and went to pay. Knowledge in hand I asked about points first before my purchases were scanned. I asked about a cream I purchased and if I can place it on before applying makeup. She told all creams are applied before makeup. ‍ That much I do know what would have been helpful would be to know if I should wait a few minutes before applying or is it going to change how my makeup lays on my face. Should I apply a thin layer, thick layer avoid the eyes etc. I really think the employees can use a refresher on customer services skills and how not to sound condescending when speaking to customers. This is my second time getting my hair dyed at this ulta. I had a wonderful experience and my hair stylist Bianca did a wonderful job. I went in a day before to discuss the color and she worked with me in person as well as went out of her way to send me reference photos on Instagram to make sure I was happy and sure with what I was getting. The process was easy and she removed my previous magenta color from my hair with ease. Bianca also worked diligently to make sure my hair was not damaged during the coloring process. She was wonderful to talk with while I was there and I left so happy with my hair. I can not wait to get my hair done again with her! read more

i was looking for some makeup. so i decided to look around at local stores that i could shop regularly at. ulta was definitely a more high-end store than the extension/beauty place across the street and the other beauty supply store located in the same parking lot as ulta. actually, this other beauty store referred me to ulta for what i needed. so, here i am at ulta. when i first walked in i was approached by an employee. she was very helpful and asked what i was looking for. i was in there specifically for a liquid eyeliner that was smudge proof, waterproof, and black. she knew her products well and instantly reached for exactly what i needed. i told her i was going to browse and look at other items in the store. she gave me no pressure to buy more, but told me about current promotions with her brand. so, i was in the store browsing and looking at prices. most things seemed overpriced, and simply because of this, i probably won't make this a regular store of mine. i also wanted to look at some airbrush makeup that was water based. i was told they do not carry that in their store. that was a major let down, since recently i have been veering off into the airbrush world. i would love to see some local makeup stores carrying airbrush makeup. sadly for now its online shopping for that. the part that makes this a 3 star review is when i went to checkout. the cashier working there mentioned to me that she was not all there. she didn't look very well either, but i applaud her for showing up for work. then, she proceeded to ask me about all my information. before i knew it, i had given her my phone number, address, email, next of kin...i'm kidding about next of kin, but seriously it was a lot of information that she wanted before i could buy anything. i am wondering the whole time whether this is mandatory for a two item purchase. would have been nice if i was told at the beginning whether this info was completely necessary. the items i purchased i was entitled to a current promotional box. the cashier knew nothing about it, but i was told that she would know everything about it. i describe the color of the box it was in, the girl who mentioned the promotion, and what brand it was. the cashier went through every cabinet in the store. literally, every cabinet. i couldn't believe how long this took. i was ready to just get out of there by the time she found it. for all of that, i decided to knock off 2 stars. ulta does have a big selection of different brands of makeup. more than any other store in the area. all the employees were very nice, but i was not pleased by the checkout process. read more

This location is by far the worst location Thus far. No customer service whatsoever. Ordered an online curbside pick up and nowhere it states you can't pick up an hour prior to closing time, to top that off their hours online STATES the wrong hours. Spoke to their MOD Chelsea and has no consideration for customers regarding the situation did nothing to come up with any resolutions and also gave false information about your account not being charged unless the merch has been picked up which she was wrong because once the order has been placed there's a pending charge. I love Ulta but this location is the worst! I just went there , spend about $500 and got scolded by the manager for opening a package of kiss nails. I wanted to make sure that they would fit before I buy them. I literally just pulled one out and she said I would have to buy them or she would have to trough them away bc they are used. She accused me of gluing them on . I have acrylic nails so I was definitely not gluing those on on top of acrylics. She made me feel so uncomfortable. I apologized about opening them . Her attitude was so bad , she embarrassed me in front of the whole store. I wanted to leave without purchasing anything and she said that she didn't care if I bought anything. Her name was Kathy ( or something similar). It is strange when you are a successful business woman and you get scolded by a 20 year old who just doesn't care about customer service. Went to this location today and I can't even express how beyond pissed I am. I purchased 75$ worth of stuff and paid with Afterpay. (I am very well versed on the app and have used it successfully in other ulta locations. ) the transaction is approved & the girl who rung me up prints the receipt (which shows proof of purchase) and then promptly says sorry you can't pay with Afterpay and I explain to her that it's been paid for. She persistently tells me my stuff is not purchased yet and continues to gaslight me. She even brings a manager over to both tell me I cannot take my items because the order isn't paid for. I pull up my email confirmation from Afterpay, and I even pull up my bank statement to prove the funds have been taken out. They continue to bully me and tell me I can't have my items. The girl tried to not let my have my receipt too, but I would have no way to dispute this. Quite frankly, the method of payment I use is none of anyone's business and the fact that your employees are trying to tell me I'm wrong about a third party app is appalling. If the transaction wasn't approved it would of declined and not printed a receipt. I have been shopping at ulta since 2010 and will sadly no longer be shopping in store. Customers should NEVER be treated this way and I hope employees are trained on customer service. I know after the pandemic retail is a very hard industry to work in but this store needs to step it up. It really sucks being in this position because now I have no way of getting a refund on these items because I wasn't allowed to have them to begin with!!!!!! The worst part is now I'm going to have to go back to the store to ask to retrieve my items and it's going to be a "he said/she said" situation. I really don't want to continue to be bullied just to get my problem resolved. So now I am out 75$ and nothing to show for it. 0/10. read more
