I always have a good experience when I come here and i am surprised I haven't done a Yelp review here. On my last visit a few days ago, I had an item that was not sure if I can exchange or return. I didn't know what the return policy is, so when I went in, I asked the girl at the register. She was very helpful, said that refund/exchanges usually have a 60 day time frame and looked up my purchase history to make sure she can accept the item for a return. She offered me 3 options: 1) choose another item 2) refund back to original form of payment 3) put the refund amount onto a store card. Easy peasy! read more

If you come here knowing your colors, then you are one step ahead. Ulta's point system is great and valuable when you get 20% off on prestigious products and special coupons. There was a herd of like 4 yet now one cold help me. I just looked at old Ulta receipts to find colors I've bought in the past. I used the restroom and considering the amount of women working there it was offensive. Smell, cleanliness and toilet paper available. The perfumes also could not be sampled. You had to get someone again to help. Either this area got ghetto or something. It was inconvenient. I couldn't use it because it was a "special brand" and not the benefit brand. This is the closest Ulta to me so I thought I would visit it or the Black Friday deals. Big mistake! First, they didn't have all of the deal items and I had just arrived when the store opened, so it isn't as if they just sold out. Hint : if you're going to advertise that you're having all these Black Friday deals, then you may want to ensure that there actually a stock. This kind of service is why I shop at Sephora. Anyway, also had Black Friday specials available today. This time I figured I'd be smart and do my shopping online. To avoid the shipping I decide to pick it up in store. Even though I had several options as to where to pick it up I chose to pick it up at the oberoi old location, big mistake! After doing so and the site indicating that the item was in stock at Arroyo, 2 minutes later, Arroyo cancelled my order. WTF!!!!! The item showed that it was in stock online!!! Anyway, is it going through the whole process online, I decide to call the customer service. Apparently they only hire morons at Ulta. This moron kept me on the phone for 12 minutes and after asking me ridiculous question after ridiculous question couldn't fricken place the order himself! Hint: if you can't do something that I'm calling you strictly to do, then tell me that in the first n minute! Also, in the past, Ulta has given me my free birthday gift in November even though my birthday is in December. This store apparently doesn't care about their customer. They told me the free birthday gift email will be sent in early December. I ask them what's the birthday gift and it's this cheap bareMinerals mineral powder. So it'll essentially cost me much more in gas to drive all the way back to pick up the cheap item. Forget it. I guess the store is really stingy with this free gift because of another yelper had to argue with the manager over her free gift. Cmon,??? That's ridiculous. She's such a great conversationalist and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. It was a few months overdue for my root touch up, and I needed to find someone STAT! Susie is a master elite stylist at Ulta and I can say she earned that badge. She truly is a master of her craft and I was so grateful for her time to doll me up. She made the experience so much fun and provided me insight on some products to purchase to enrich the integrity of my hair. After all, going blonde does take a whirl on your natural hair. The worst experience with accent highlights. I was very specific about my needs. Unfortunately April turned my hair darker and it all ruined for the New Year's Eve! The manager Diane was not an apologetic manager and charged me a full price of accent highlights plus deep conditioning which was not performed by a licensee professional. I came here yesterday with my wife to repurchase something she bought a few months ago. She was told that the item, Ulta Coconut Body Spray, had been discontinued over two years ago. I guess what she had purchased was leftover stock. We walked around the small store for a while and quickly left within a few minutes. During the 5-10 minutes that we [separately] walked around, I must have been asked if I needed help at least six or more times. In such a small store I would have assumed all the staff would have seen that I was approached numerous times and left me alone, but no, one after another approached. This store is tiny compared to other Ulta stores. It (according to my wife) doesn't have nearly enough stock or displays as other Ulta stores. Accordingly, my wife said she wouldn't return here again in favor of the Town Square store, which is significantly more extensive and better stocked. As we went to the Ulta store at Town Square still searching for the body spray, (which we did find) and the same thing occurred with at least 8-10 girls approaching me, I recommend that upon entering, men are given signs that say; I'm with her, leave me alone." This is literally the most poorly run ULTA salon and brow bar that I have ever been to. Unfortunately it is the closest one to me so I keep giving them another chance. The stylist I saw on Friday, Taylyn, was great and i love my haircut but I've been disappointed with the scheduling here every time. For context: I have stopped going to the benefit brow bar after 8 years of exclusively getting my brows down at benefit bar across ULTA locations across NC, VA and two other NV locations. My first experience here involved waiting 20 minutes past the scheduled time for a brow wax. Not because the employee was with someone else- they just were nowhere to be found. Then, despite being late to the haircut scheduled afterwards due to the eyebrow delay, the stylist for the haircut I had scheduled afterwards, said it would be an HOUR wait. This was back in July. I've come back for 2 brow waxes since then and noticed my eyebrows starting looking uneven. The last time, I also had to wait 15 minutes Pat scheduled time because another client was in the chair-- which happens but clearly schedules are mismanaged. On Friday, I scheduled an appointment for 5:30. I called beforehand to confirm, given my last try, and they said they were running behind and to arrive at 5:45. I show up at 5:50 and was told it'd be another 20 minutes. I had an event on Saturday so needed it done. I run errands next door and come back 30 minutes later. I wasn't in the chair until 6:45. To be fair, I later learned that there was a medical emergency with a client earlier in the day which is why there was a delay. That said, I really wish the front desk/receptionist would have given me a more realistic timeline when I called. When I initially arrived there were 3 other stylists working and no one was asked to help out. Anyways, like I said, Taylyn is great (and I'm sure the other stylists are too) but the management of the salon is not. read more

Do not let Jonquil touch your hair!!!!!!! She butchered my hair. After I left I called the store and the manager had to call me back. At first she was defensive of her employee, understandably, but once I sent a picture of the hack job this girl did she immediately offered a refund. Her exact words were I could come in for a return. You can't return my hair off the floor. I got my money back and now have to get my hair fixed.... so even more length off. I'm devastated. Jonquil seems very inexperienced, she kept asking what was wrong when it was very clear that there were choppy uneven layers just mixed throughout my hair. Nothing laid nicely it was all blunt edges. She kept dropping the scissors and took over 2 hours before I lost total faith. It's definitely on me for not leaving sooner. Asked me about my skin type, what kind of coverage I was looking for, and what kind of finish I'd like. She was able to find the perfect one for me so fast. I've had so much trouble locking down my foundation shade since my skin varies through the seasons but she did it so seamlessly and was able to recommend a great primer/moisturizer to help with my combination/dry skin. Well kept, as well as the Klorane area. She was personable, and even helpful for the other departments inside Ulta. A+++ Candance:) Nope, I'm still not going to be a future Ulta client. My experience today was horrible and then for no one to make it better is even worse. I expressed my disappointment to the cashier who still did nothing but say "do you want to talk to my manager?" Why are they not empowered to make a difference in a customer's situation??? I had hair appointment at 4. The hairstylist called me to come early and so I did (to help her out) to be ignored after checking in for almost an hour. Finally someone asks me if they can help me and I tell them I am waiting my appointment. Another stylist who was standing there was like "oh I though you were *my name*." She started doing someone else's clients hair because she didn't bother to ask the lady her name! Crisis diverted was diverted by having someone else step up to cut my hair but then the price went up! This lady charges almost 20 more. How is this even possible when the website states a certain price. So I am charged more because this idiot didn't bother to ask a different customer what her name was?! Lastly, Ulta sends a coupon on Friday that you can only use thru the following day so when I tried to get the $10 discount the coupon was expired. Why would they even bother sending a coupon for 1 day? But I remained calm sadly she already knew the shit show I waited patiently through and didn't even offer to do something but make me then have to repeat everything to the manager?!?! Went in with my husband to buy a new perfume. But as he has allergies to some, I wanted to make sure all was good before I purchased. There was no sample out so I asked an employee if we could sample the perfume. She tells me no, that they don't sample all their perfumes. I was even more confused since I sample smelled it at a store across town. But how should anyone buy a perfume without smelling it? Especially some of these brand name ones. I walked into this place and I was in heaven. I'm such a makeup junkie and this was the first Ulta store that I'd been to. I just usually order online from them since they don't have one in Hawaii. I wanted to buy everything in the store, but my hubby said that I was limited to one item. The three brands that caught my eye were Lorac, It Cosmetics, and Lipstick Queen. Those were the three lines that no one in Hawaii carries. Everything else I could find at home. I was so happy to get my hands on the Lorac Mega Pro 2. The Pro 1 sold out within minutes last year. I grabbed that and an It Cosmetics heart shaped brush. It was a limited edition brush for cancer awareness month. On the way to the checkout, I passed by Lipstick Queen. I couldn't help myself and picked up the Goodbye lipstick. It's really cool because it's this deep berry shade with blue shimmer specks in it. Yup, I went over my one item limit. The workers were super helpful. They came around and asked me if I had any questions. They also helped me with my membership points. The salesgirl looked up my name on her computer system and told me that I could get $11 off with my points. Yippee! I love their rewards system. read more

I have been frequenting this popular shop since the 90's when I lived out of state and it was called Ulta 3. I had to leave this review and give accolades to Nikki in my most recent visit. I walked in with the intent on getting new makeup that would provide full coverage and Nikki sat me down and worked her magic. She recommended Dermablend and Benefit cosmetics and I bought them all! She is an asset to this store and made my day. The only recommendation I have for this store is to stock up on popular products. I started visiting Sephora because this happened alot in the past, and I hope this has improved since then.
