BEWARE UP UP CHARGE and COVID Practices. I selected their Groupon specifically because it didn't have a declaimer in the comments about applying to short hair only. When I called he told me that it was in the fine print and he'd show me. When I arrived, he couldn't show me where it was (because it's not there), but still refused to honor the advertised price. Additionally, he refused to give me a quote or even a range over the phone of the additional costs and said I'd have to drive across town. I tried to explain in cosmetology terms what the length, texture, and density was but he wouldn't hear it. The reason you don't see these bad reviews on Groupon is because they tell you to return your Groupon when you arrive. Lastly, I ultimately walked out because their COVID safety is concerning. The sign on the door says one customer per stylist, but my assigned colorist was in the middle of a hair process when I arrived and placed me in a chair not 3' from her other customer in a very small room. read more

Got my hair done today. To say the least I'm not happy at all. I went in with at least 2 years of not cutting my hair and 100% virgin. I asked for layers and just a trim on the overall length. I naturally have light brown hair and wanted to have just a partial highlight to an ash blonde. Instead I got orange highlights that don't even go to the top, there is about an inch of hair that didn't even get lightened and my hair looks like i let my 2 year old cut it. I'm order to fix my cut ill need to cut at least 3-4 inches off. This salon is located in a scary area. There are other seemingly seedy businesses in this same plaza and this salon is one too. I would not recommend this place for any stylist searching for a new salon home, as it is very stressful explaining to your clients all of the crazy and scary people who loiter in this plaza. The owner is not nice, and will sue you if you default in your contact, that's the other thing, you're forced into a contract. I highly suggest you don't waste your time here. It's sad that one person could bring down an entire company with their terrible attitude. Looking at the reviews I'm not the only one. I found this salon because it was close to my home. I noticed there was a Groupon out for Benjamin so I called to make an appointment. After a few failed attempts to reach him I finally got a call back. I mentioned I was looking at the Groupon and his whole attitude took a turn. He told me not to purchase it and he would honor the price. I explained in detail what my hair looked like, super basic it's high lights grown out. He obviously didn't believe me and said I need to go down there and he will look to see if he can do it. Then I would have to make an additional appointment to come back plus there could be up charges to the Groupon. I said that's fine about the up charge, but he continued to talk me out of getting my hair done saying it's too soon for highlights when I told him it's been 2 months and he hadn't even seen my hair! I could tell he didn't want to do my hair and was stereotyping bc I was looking at the Groupon. He began to get irritated with me bc I didn't want to make 2 separate appointments. I waited a week just to get a hold of him to begin with. It's absolutely unnecessary and a waste of my time. He was being sooooo RUDE as the conversation went south. so I said never mind I don't want you touching my hair. He said good! and the conversation was over. It was so strange how he literally pushed me away. I never in my life would let this man work In my establishment or rent a chair. He's a disgrace to any business! This review is more for the hair stylist than the salon itself. He actually moved to a new salon recently called 24/7 Salon on Tropicana/Decatur, so beware! I was recommended to see RYAN (I believe he is Native American so avoid this Ryan!) by a friend. I wanted reddish streaks in my hair similar to a bayalage or ombre look and I showed him a picture. As he was bleaching my hair, I noticed he was rushing and it was kind of rough. After he finished putting the bleach in my hair he sat me under the dryer and I realized then why he was rushing. He had another client waiting for him also. Apparently, he booked us about 30 min apart, who does that?!?! As a stylist why would you book 30 min. apart knowing it will take longer than 30 minutes to cut and highlight. He basically left me under the dryer for over 30 min. which cannot be good to have bleach in your hair for that long!!! Long story short, the end result was HORRIBLE. It didn't even come out red, the areas where my hair was bleached was stringy, stretchy, and basically DEAD. I got my hair done at the end of June and to this day where the bleach was left my hair breaks, clumps, and falls out. After he blew dry my hair and tried to style it, I asked him why my hair color wasn't red, why was my hair like this, my hair felt so dead and stringy, and he couldn't even answer me. He just sat in the chair playing with his phone. Obviously, he knew he F*CKED up my hair so bad!!!! PLEASE DO NOT GO TO HIM IF YOU WANT HIGHLIGHTS, BALAYAGE, OR OMBRE. He doesn't know what he's doing. He's been a stylist for over 20 years and it is apparent that 20 years of experience doesn't mean anything. I've had other stylists do my hair that has only been doing it for a few years and they have been wonderful. I had to have my boyfriend fix my haircut for me because it wasn't even and I had to dye my hair back to black. My boyfriend doesn't even have his cosmetology license but he never ruins my hair. I should have just let my boyfriend do my hair BUT I wanted to get it professionally done. LESSON LEARNED!! It was such a devastating experience and I wouldn't want anyone to have to experience what I went through. I literally cried that night because I was so upset, especially how he just sat there at the end like an idiot. How unprofessional. I'm sure he knew how horrible he messed up my hair. It couldn't be anymore obvious! I get that we all make mistakes BUT when I'm paying you over $100 to do my hair, I don't want to go home and FIX IT!!! I don't want to go home and dye my hair because you couldn't do your job competently. First, a shout out to Arcely S. for recommending this place! Toughest part about moving is finding a new hair stylist that does great work. I've had a fair share of bad hair stylists, but not here. The studio was very easy to find and making appointments was pretty smooth too. Joe was recommended to me by Arcely and I'm glad she did. Joe is down-to-earth and he has a rich background in "hair". Joe is extremely friendly and easy to talk with and about 5 minutes into the haircut, we found our common ground in "fitness". Joe took his time with my hair (which I really like) and made sure that every cut and blend looked clean. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my haircut! The studio is kept very clean and mind you this place is pretty huge. Cache Hair Studio is more than just hair, they got a ton of different services to fit your fancy. I should've followed my gut when I first walked through the doors. Waiting for more than 5 minutes to be greeted. Then I was never told how long for a haircut. After waiting what seemed to be an appropriate time, once in the chair I was told by the hairstylist I was being sat before the lady who was next in line. As if I was being done a favor. Go in order and tell me how long I need to wait, I'll be patient and wait my turn. More importantly is the hairstylist. He didnt listen. I wanted to trim the sides and leave the length on the top. I left with a lot less on the top, and the sides uneven. I mentioned the sides were uneven and he said they weren't. Should've gone with my gut. Hair looks bad and I'm unhappy. Esmeralda is absolutely one of the nicest and most easy going stylists i've ever been with. I've been with her for years now and moved everywhere with her and she can really transform my hair and make it look beautiful for affordable prices as well. She is very patient and understanding and always there for her appointments and is never late. I don't ever plan on changing my hair stylist and i would absolutely recommend her for trims, coloring, treatments or any other hair needs someone might need. Esmeralda is very trustworthy when it comes to hair and really knows what she's doing, also as a plus she is great with conversation and has a very positive personality with her customers and other people within the salon. The first time I had Linda cut my hair, she left it uneven, but I still went back again, and had it cut a second time. This was a better cut, so I was encouraged to try for a third time, and this is when the trouble really began. I was scheduled for a 6:00 pm haircut and I had to wait outside until 5:55pm, when someone other than Linda let me in. She called out from the back and said "I'll be right out". 15 minutes later at 6:10pm, she had still not come out to greet or communicate with me. If your time is not valuable to you or if you like being forgotten by the women cutting your hair, Linda may be perfect for you, but not for me. The disrespect of my time was unreasonable and she tried to blame it on me when I left after sitting around for 15 minutes. No apologies were made, and no attempts were made to regain my business. I was just looking on Groupon for an inexpensive men's haircut. I saw Ray here at Cache Salon. Only $10 But wait!!! Be careful to read it carefully. It's not a haircut for $10. If you look closely it says $20 of services for $10. I looked all over for what he charges for a haircut and can't find anything. Only a reference of a haircut for more than $100. A Groupon for $10 with $20 of services is not a good deal and has so much room for fraud. All you do is charge $10 more and this Groupon is worthless. read more

I had gotten a keratin treatment from Benjamin. He was very kind and so is his wife and I just want to make that disclaimer very quickly I'm not trying to bash anyone. I got a keratin treatment and I am convinced that it was not a Keratin treatment. It has been a week since my treatment in my hair is still curling on its own after I wash it and it still breaking off and it also allows me to curl it with an iron and hold the curl for several days. My past keratin treatments were so good that I could not curl my hair and my hair would dry completely straight and be soft and silky. With his treatment I was in his chair for six hours and I felt like he didn't apply keratin to my entire head. His flat iron that he used to straighten the chemical into my strand was not even hot. I feel like I got ripped off and if I can have my hair was very curly and I obviously did not get a proper treatment. I hate to say this but I will not be returning. This was not a legit keratin. Could it have been a mistake? Sure. But I will not be returning to Benjamin for my keratin after spending almost $300. read more

I went here the other day on a referral from my coworkers. I called the lady directly and she set me up with an appointment right away. When I got there she was ready for me, I did not have to wait which I love! She helped me pick out a good color to highlight my hair, helped me figure out what a good hair style was for me, and was very attentive. She made sure I had magazines, t.v., and kept asking me if i wanted anything to drink and if i was good. She gave me loads of information on how to restore and maintain my hair.
