I love a good time at Ultra Beauty, but it is kind of on the pricey side for me most of the time. Even Amazon can get lower sometimes. I will say it smells amazing inside, and I do love getting my Anastasia of Beverly Hills makeup there and smashbozx as well. The place is clean, and everyone is very welcoming and nice. Love going to Ulta for all my beauty needs! I dont shop here often, but they always have plenty items in stock. Customer service is professional and all the staff seem knowledgeable about products. They do make up tutorials and help you look for items. Great place to shop for a few gifts thru out the year. The best part about this fairly new Ulta in Lexington, I dont have to drive to Harbison for a few items! I will be using this location as often as possible. Honestly, 10 out of 10 recommend. Nicole was amazing! There was a very specific cut I was wanting (grown out/long pixie) that previous hair stylists (not from Ulta) just couldn't seem to do. I had almost given up but Nicole was confident, listened, and prepared! She gave me exactly what I was wanting, it turned out perfectly and I'm happy I took a leap of faith. I had a hair appointment scheduled for 3:45pm today. I received a phone call asking if I could come in at 5pm instead. The reason was another client decided she wanted extra services than scheduled for which would take longer. They didn't want me to have to wait. I cancelled my appointment because 5pm is not a good time for me. I believe the other client should have been rescheduled since these were last minute additions. This is a terrible first impression! This is your typical Ulta store. The store is organized and well stocked with makeup. There have been a few times I have gone in and they were down to the last one of my foundation colors but I've never left without what I was looking for. I also do some major Christmas shopping at Ulta and this past year (2019) they had everything I needed in stock for Black Friday. I received a gift card for Christmas, never was into makeup that much other than drug store mascara, BUY when I walked into this COLORFUL, ORGANIZED,AND WELL STAFFED STORE, I was amazed. Its a bit overwhelming if you have no idea what you are needing or looking for, I wound up in hair section and found a salon! WHOA and in that salon a stylist who took her time with me on ideas and actually shared family hair issues CURLY GURL HAIR, I wanted to do something about the greys and mixing it with the reds and keep a style to nit ruin my wonderful beautiful curls yes I live my curls!!! Still, Lead stylist gave me ideas , helped with products and after I showed the hair cut I was thinking if she said I believe that would suit me perfectly, . I said, now I am so protective of my hair style and the cut HOBESTLY CAN YOU DO THUS BECAUSE ID APPRECIATE THE TRUTH NOW AND NOT HAVE TO SHOW MY DISAPPOINTMENT LATER She saud I would never accept a style I couldn't do and I'm as honest as can be my daughters are like you exactly,when it comes to their hair. I was elated and made an appt. She was Honest , and quite remarkable while cutting and styling Afterward it was exactly like the pic and I was doing the happy skip out of the store, I've just called to make another appt. Since its growing out and the color issue I've not had the courage to do yet. Prices are fair they are done according to service which is plainly listed online or in store brochures, no surprises. I like that!! The make up is well stocked and if I had 1 thing I'd like to see changed is to have at least someone who knows about the brand and its efficacy in doing what I need or think I need without bs. But ya know I've been in 2x, and always forget I have a gift card its still in my wallet, but im going to do a little more than hair cut at thus appt. So I'll be using it for sure. So sad to see a relatively new location go downhill this quickly. I used to be in this Ulta weekly and always found excellent customer service. now I make a trip into town for some guidance on fragrance for my wedding day and I can't seem to get help. No the store was not busy but there wa a few other customers in the store and an associate was helping them. I guess she had finished with them and proceeded to walk by the fragrance section 2-3 times with out engaging me, I'm not the type to walk up to the counter and wait for someone to finish chit chatting with their coworker to get help. So over all a great place to go if you don't need help or know exactly what you're looking for. read more

came here to get a trim for my curly hair. ashley g. was so sweet and i felt very comfortable having her as my hair dresser she knew how to cut my hair and was very fun to talk to! she had the best tips for my hair which i will definitely be using. i definitely recommend having her as a stylist, especially if you have curly hair. i don't normally write reviews but she was just so amazing! when i need to cut my hair again, i'm definitely coming to her. read more

So I would be giving a 5 star review if it weren't for the salon. I made an appointment for 3:30 pm to have full dem. highlights and a cut. They called me on Sunday and left a voicemail saying they had to ask me a few questions for my appointment. I didn't get back to them until on my way to the appointment because that's when I realized I had missed the call. So I called them back for them to tell me that the computer system gave a wrong time frame and that there was no way that they could do the work I had scheduled in the time frame because they close at 6. They then asked me was there anything else I may be interested in. I told them no I'd just have to reschedule. I also went in to the salon just to see if I could face to face talk with someone and come up with something else that may look good. The lady (Shiloh) was very nice however we didn't figure anything out except that I should book another appointment. Needless to say I probably won't be booking another appointment because I don't feel like there was anybody who genuinely tried to help me nor was it my fault that the computer system messed up so I walk away with a bad taste in my mouth over the entire thing and nothing done to my hair. Moral of the story is if the stores computer system messes something up I feel like the customer shouldn't walk away feeling like they were put off and really not wanting to return. read more

I only give this Ulta 4 stars because I feel like the selection is kind of limited... but the staff is phenomenal! They're so kind and so helpful! Also so very delightful to chat with! I haven't had my hair cut but the ladies from the salon were also very helpful... I was seriously weary of spending $200 on shampoos, but I had a bleaching incident and needed a very fast acting rescue, & after using the stuff just one time I'm totally sold... I believe I will continue using the recommended products even when my hair is totally back to normal. So the entire staff at this store is great at hearing what you want, recommending what you NEED (even if its not what you THINK you want at the time - you'll end up being thrilled with the recommendations.) They're extremely friendly, & they're delightful to converse with, so what more could you ask for from business' staff? read more
