I came here to find a specific sunscreen lip balm, but it was a little difficult because the products weren't shelved by brand. The sunscreen lip balms weren't placed with their respective brands, but instead were located in a separate "Lip Library" section--not in the "Sun Shop" section either. That said, I was glad I was able to find the product, just like I saw it on the website. I was also pleased with the variety of products they carried. I just wish the layout and sorting made things easier to find. The staff didn't approach me to ask if I needed help, and the checkout line was a bit long. I only came here today to get my brows threaded by Mary. I've been getting my brows done by Mary for about five years. So if you're debating on getting your brows done at this location, go get them done and they will look so fantastic and tell Mary Angie said hi and sends her love. It's always fine and they have a huge selection of items from many brands at all levels of affordability.. There are always staff wandering around checking in with shoppers but the line for check out is always long. I couldn't find anything I was looking for - the store has gotten rid of some big brands and had all new products. So a little guidance would have been appreciated. They were out of 2 things I was specifically seeking. When I got to the register (trying something new), I told the cashier I was disappointed in the lack of customer support. They called the manager over, who, stony faced, apologized for the poor customer service - but didn't offer any help, or to get someone else to help me. Just, oh well, sad for you! I spent a extreme amount of money at this place , i was unhappy about a powder I bought from mac not knowing they changed the formula . I brought it back it had broke but all the contents were in the compact. Two girls told me I could exchange it for something else and then helped me find a color that match so wasted 40 minutes of my time for me to go back up with also products that I was gonna buy to tell me that I couldn't exchange it. I am furious. This is the most unprofessional Experience I've had with your young managers. Overall, this location has the essentials and some higher end cosmetic and skin care solutions. Staff is usually available for help and once in awhile there is a manager or beautician that raises my eyebrow. Last week, there was a Fall Haul sale and no tags were displayed to let shoppers know that certain products were on sale. I asked the manager about it saying I only found out about it because I looked on the app. She said it was intended to be that way and there was 1 poster on the door. O...K? As a Diamond member, I have been a loyal shopper since day 1. An item I asked to return in exchange for store credit took about 20 minutes as they scrolled through each of my transaction to find the merchandise. I showed them Ulta's return policy that stated store merch would be provided in the event no receipt is provided and not shown in profile. Well, that didn't go well...the manager argued with me over and over and I kept pointing out the policy. I was exhausted and finally she said she would do it "this time only". I recommended that she not only post tags about items on sale across the store, but to also talk to corporate about the return policy if she doesn't want to comply and honor it. I do love their nail care products, lots of brands and colors, press-ons, and gels. They have a nice selection of Hollywood Fashion Secrets as well. Every SINGLE time I have come here either by myself or with a friend, I always find a product and study the price and when it comes to check out every single time the price is doubled or more. And I always call it out and they go check and say the tag was switched by someone and that's it, and that is so un professional. This time me and my friend both got the same product and I made sure between the both of us saw the same price for the SPECIFIC product and surprise surprise surprise at check out it was doubled and the employee went to go check came back and said it it was said price for a completely different product??? I ordered online at 1:30 I come in at 4 expecting it to be ready.. it was not and I I live in Edmonds. Dude doing the online orders was very rude. Curt, dismissive and basically shoved my ID back at the associate saying.. "did you get an email, cuz it's not ready" no apology no politeness NOTHING.. tall dude with longer hair.. very rude and it is my birthday today. I came mostly to get my online order and my birthday item ( which they didn't have either) .. rudest associate I've ever encountered at any Ulta and I've been an Ulta regular 15 years now.. it was bad enough they didn't have my order ready almost 3 hours later, nor did they have my birthday item either.. which is just a sample size item which is crazy.. but the associate was rude and acted like I was somehow wrong for being there 3 hours after ordering. I was on my way to work now I'll have to wait till tomorrow . I usually go to the Everett store cuz it's the only store that usually has an item I get regularly, in stock. But they had it at Lynnwood today and that's closer to where I live .. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Only saving grace was the girl who checked me out was great .. but that associate that was doing online pick up orders.. The staff here are so rude and demeaning. They all look like theyve been dealing with rude customers all day which i honestly totally understand but as someone with really bad anxiety this location is a must avoid. The cashier or manager i assume was super rude. I tried transferring money quickly before ringing up and accidentally removed my card and very snarkily he said "you removed your card too soon. I cannot say enough about Kendra in the Alderwood salon. She is awesome. She gave me the best haircut of my life, and styled it beautifully. Usually, when I get a haircut, the stylist makes me look ridiculous with their styling. Not so with Kendra. Not only that, when I got home and washed it myself, I got such an amazing cut that my natural curl took over and I didn't have to blow dry it at all. Finally! Someone who gets my hair! I had literally given up on even going to a salon anymore, because no one could give me a decent cut. I was just going to let it go and look like one of those women who just didn't care anymore. Go to Kendra. Let her fix you. She is truly amazing. Also, I don't know why Yelp says I live in San Francisco. I live in Edmonds, WA. Again, go to Kendra. read more

Ulta really has the market on some lines for hair, make-up and skincare. Their points system is really a great program and I usually end up with like $400-$500 points a year for salon services or products which is nice. The salon has tripled its prices on most services since pre pandemic so its actually more affordable now to go to a higher end salon. Most of the products have prices but I'd say 30-40 % of what is on the shelf does not have a price and it could be $3.99 or $45. So a lot of the time I end up going home and finding out how much things are and ordering for in store pick up. A lot of other make-up and hair stores have similar pricing issues. I will say a few years ago they did a very bad job on my hair at the Northgate salon location and i paid $350 for the service. They were able to do a "corrective" fix at the Alderwood location for an additional $500. Needless to say I recommend the Alderwood location for salon services. read more

Also, there are so many other reviews about their team being rude. They all would benefit from better customer service training. The manager here refused to listen to how her rude cashier was treating my wife at checkout.....(see pics for explanation) Just to be clear this is not a color or race thing just an ignorance and flexing of power thing because we were brown, the cashier was white, and the manager was African American . So we know it has nothing to do with that or status. It has everything to do with poor customer service and the lack of math skills and ignorance to be in this industry. I also really hope that the rude cashier who was using glasses is named Christina as it showed on our receipt and not anyone else who this rude cashier happened to be logged in on Christina's account. Just review the cameras because if you do, then you'll also see the manager walking rudely in front of us right as we walked in without saying sorry or even greeting us as customers as we walked in. Not a big deal that we weren't greeted or that she almost ran into our path, but it shows that the manager couldn't hold her composure even before our check out interaction. Sure, it might be the day before thanksgiving and Black Friday so she might have been stressed, but managers should never not be stressed enough to hear a customer out about how their employees are treating guests. First time here on my afternoon pit stop and was so impressed by the organization and amount of products in stock! I came here for something specific (magnetic liner and lashes) and found the brand I was looking for with the help of an associate. Because I came during the day time, I think they were short staffed as there was a long check out line and it took me a while to find someone on the floor to help me locate my product. Used the $3.50 off, 15 purchase on their website on my phone and left paying 12 dollars for a 16 dollar pair of lashes. Checkout process was a little long but was impressed by how clean and how many brands this Ulta carried. Will be back to burn some more holes in my pocket. read more

It's nice to have a Ulta in Lynnwood, but I do not think they have the best customer service. I came in yesterday searching for a new Clinique product, I checked it online that it is in stock in this location before going. When I arrived, I did not see it on the shelf, so I asked a sales person who was doing inventory to look for me in the back. She looked for it twice and came back telling me they don't have what I want. I left without the product. After I came home the same night, I ordered the product for store picked up online, and guess what? It was ready the first thing in the morning. So I guess they did have it in the back when I was there, and just couldn't look careful enough for me so I have to make another trip to get what I want. Thank you for your help. Had a really great experience today at Ulta! I worked with a employee named Elana, and she helped me to find everything I needed and more. I was really nervous about an upcoming wedding and needed some tips on putting together a good look and she had tons of recommendations that were super helpful and I left with products that I really am confident in using. Only did four-star is because I wish the employees had access to be able to put the make up on me and not just me do it alone at a counter, but overall still happy with the purchase and the store. read more

I live in a small town north of lynnwood and have not been in an Ulta store before. I usually shop at Sephardic, Macy's and Amazon. However I was in Lynnwood and needed to stock up on my Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. I also wanted to check out the Dyson hairdryer and smoothing tool. Finally I saw online that I could get my Dior matte foundation in this store. So, I decided to try and kill three birds with one stone and check out Ulta. I also just wanted to browse and see if there was anything I needed that I didn't know I needed yet. Ha. Toput it mildly, I had the weirdest... and most annoying experience. I was in the store only 3 or 4 minutes and in that time I was asked SIX times...including by the same person twice...what I needed help with. The first four times I responded "Just looking, thank you". The fifth time I tried to gently tell the person I preferred just to browse but that I kept getting interrupted. By the 6th time, I was annoyed and creeper out so I gave up and headed for the door. When I got there, there was a manager (one of the people who had asked if she could help me) standing near the door so I told her "I was asked 6 times in 3 minutes what I needed help with". Her reply: "Thats because they don't have anything to do." I said "Its too much" And she Said "They are doing a good job". Needless to say, I will stick with my current stores. I am 57, was fairly nicely dressed and carrying a tiny little purse. I do not know what a shoplifter looks like but I don't think I fit whatever that profile is. But sheesh...it was CREEPY. Ulta is dangerous and hard for me to get out of without spending an arm and a leg. I love the rotating features of visiting make up artists/skin care specialists from different lines they carry. The benefit brow bar is adorable and a really great option for soemeone wanting some help with brow shape or waxing but not wanting to walk into a strange salon for the first time and not know what to expect. Staff helpfulness and friendliness can be hit or miss here. There is usually a staff member who feels a bit pushy or completely ignoresh you but I've also always been able to find someone just right to help me out. I like the location - close to Alderwood but not quite in the hustle and bustle of the mall. They have a salon in back for full hair and makeup treatments. I like that they carry both drug store and more boutique brands which lets you compare value and quality. They do some pretty good sales here as well! There is a rewards program including a treat around your birthday. My favourite products/lines here include IT (local gal from Renton I believe), Benefit, Bare Minerals, and Philosophy (If you haven't tried or smell Cinnamon Buns shower/bubble/gel/shampoo yet - just do it! I went in specifically to purchase more Kitsch masks! I'd been waiting until the app showed this location had more in stock. Upon entering, it took a few min to be helped- which was ok- I try to be independent. Upon not finding masks, was told the masks were completely sold out. At first no interest in checking the stock in the back room, until I mentioned these being the only masks I can handle and I needed more. Then the associate offered to double check the stock room. She came back with several packs! And the manager apologized at check out. I've worked retail, please be willing to double check the stock rooms! It means so so much to your customers when you do instead of making them leave empty handed when you did have them in stock. People are helpful and so many options ... They have good sales. I was there on a Monday night the music was so loud I felt I was in a "night club" ... What happened to "background" music so it was not dead silent now every were you go it's blasting and for a makeup store with mix clientele you would think they would cater to both ... I think retailers could sell more if customers could think . I got what I came in for and ran out ...
