I entered this store today expecting a simple return and instead experienced some of the most disrespectful treatment I have ever received as a customer. I was yelled at, spoken to unprofessionally, and falsely accused of stealing an item that I had brought into the store to return. The store manager Abigail Brackett behavior was completely unacceptable. I felt discriminated against, unfairly targeted, and publicly humiliated. I have proof that the accusation against me was false, yet I was still treated as though I had committed a crime. To make matters worse, the manager claimed that the item could not be located under the phone number I provided and insisted there was no record of the purchase. After leaving the store, I visited another location where an employee was able to find the purchase immediately using the exact same phone number without any issue. This directly contradicts what I was told and raises serious concerns about how this situation was handled. Being falsely accused of theft is disturbing enough, but being provided information that was later proven to be false is even more troubling. Whether due to negligence or malice, this conduct is unacceptable and caused unnecessary embarrassment and distress. I am shocked that any customer would be treated this way. Being falsely accused, discriminated against, and treated with such hostility is something no one should have to experience. I've shopped here dozens of times and the customer service is very inconsistent. Sometimes staff are friendly and helpful and other times they aren't. I can remember one time when I was looking at products near the registers and all I could hear was staff talking about negative stuff going on at work. I don't think a customer should be hearing that while they're shopping. I keep returning because there are products I use that I can't find at other stores. Update to add Oct 2025, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me...my stupid self decided to try them again, but for me this time, not my daughter. Scheduled a blow out for an event, when I arrived, I was informed that the stylist had called out sick that day, and the manager tried to call me. That is a bunch of BS, nobody called me. I got a confirmation text of my appointment so I know for a fact that my phone # in my account is accurate. I had no missed call or VM. This place is so unbelievably unprofessional and I feel like an idiot for giving them another shot. As for the store, they offer a variety of cosmetic and hair needs, so if you know what you want, shop here, but do not expect friendly or professional services or help or customer service. So I made an appointment for my daughter haircut first time there because I saw they do the stencils. So I made the appointment for 11:30 am, l got there on time, I wasn't greeted. There was two stylist with clients, both didn't acknowledge me, so I waited about 15 minutes or more. When one of the stylist asked me my name and then told me that the stylist I scheduled which was Jolene is almost done. So I understand my appointment was 30 minutes she asked if my daughter wanted her hair wash I said yes and then I asked her if she could do the stencils. I understand she was accommodating with what I was asking for because I wasn't given the option to put it when I made the appointment. As she was doing my daughter's hair I notice Jolene had a client that was waiting and she told her the client if she could come back 20 minutes. At the end I did some shopping my total was over $200. When we got home and I took a look at my daughter's hair it looked uneven some string of hair short and long even with the hair dry or wet. So I called customer service and I got a called by the manager and scheduled an appointment with the same stylist to fix it. The appointment got made for us to go in Thursday. A night before the appointment I got a call saying that Jolene wasn't going to be there Thursday and my appointment got canceled . I am very disappointed and never going to Ulta again. read more

Ordered online for pickup, checked in and waited in my car. No one came so I called the store and said I was waiting for a curbside order. The woman said "ok...." Ok. So is someone able to help me? She put me on hold and never came back. Called again and talked to another associate and said they were busy and would be out when the could. What kind of service is this? I understand if the store is too busy, THEN TURN THE FEATURE OFF so customers aren't just sitting waiting forever. I ended up parking and going in for the order. I went to get my hair done for my wedding and Laurie the stylist sat me down and started to comb my hair then accused me of having lice!!!!!! Kept pulling strands of hair out of my head saying it had nits in them. She told me to go to a lice clinic and shed give me a call to get me back on the books when the treatment was over. I even had her look at my daughter and husbands head and she was saying that my husband had nits as well but my daughter was okay. And she was looking at our heads outside the store since she didn't want us inside. so i drove to Oakland for the first available appointment to get a treatment going on my head. The lady did a head check and told me i have 0 indications of lice. No bugs, no nits (you need bugs in order for them to lay the eggs) and no scalp irritation. I called back to Ulta for inform them that i did indeed have clean head and could rebook my appointment and LAURIE HAD LEFT FOR THE DAY i had. 10am appointment and it was 11am and she was gone!! The women asked if i wanted her to call me back and i said absolutely not. This women made me feel dirty, and now she's making me feel unwanted a client. 0/5 would not reccomend going to the salon at Ulta unless you're okay with being lied to in order to get you out of the salon. read more

Customer service at this location is sorely lacking as of late. I went in with my mother at around 4pm. It was not super busy, maybe 5-6 other people yet no one was walking around the store to help. We tried finding a product that they claimed was on the shelves online but couldn't find it after some looking. I looked for someone to help us and couldn't (did like 2 laps around the store) so I went to the register to see 3 women just crowding a corner. They broke up after seeing people I assume and I went to ask the lady I assumed was in charge if they had the product. Without letting me finish me sentence she says "we don't have that" and turns and walks away without letting me ask any follow up questions. I thought okay rude and went to let me mom know that the product she wanted wasn't there. I still needed some things and they happened to be on sale so I grabbed them and went up to the register. The cashier was very nice to the women prior but when we arrived the entire atmosphere shifted. she ringed up my items but the discount wasn't applied. I mentioned that they had a lot of banners showing that they were on sale and the worker stared at me like I was stupid for wanting my 2 dollars off before reluctantly taking it off. Mind you with a snooty comment "I took off your 2 dollars off" emphasizing the fact that it was only two dollars. We left and I'd say a little heads up to management there that your workers should be able to actually assist paying customers. read more

My lovely stylist Chanel gave me an unforgettable, fabulous deep tissue scalp massage with lavender essential oil after doing my hair consultation for balayage & haircut, she even offered me any water, tea or coffee! Honestly she's very genuine, sweet, and always made sure I was enjoying my time on my day off of work. She deep conditioned my hair and gave me another scalp massage at the shampoo bowl, my hair is so soft and shiny! The color is exactly what I asked for! I brought one item to checkout which on the box itself says SRP is $38 but it rung up as $39. I kindly questioned the cashier as to why it is not ringing up as $38. What a waste of potential! Walked in excited and happy with my daughter who had saved up all her money to splurge, and was so disappointed in the lack of customer service. We poked around and found some of the things on her list amongst the (vast!) array of choices, but had to hunt (and hunt and hunt) down someone to help us with a few of the harder to find items. Had to interrupt THREE employees after standing politely next to them waiting for them to be done gossiping, and it's like the young woman who helped us was actually *disgusted* at having been asked to help. She acted like it was super inconvenient to do her job. She gave such a diva attitude like she would rather die than be at her job.
