I had an absolutely amazing experience at Ulta with Jeanette. From the start, she was prompt, professional, and immediately put me at ease. I have years of box dye and damage from constantly tying my hair up in a bun--and not once did she judge me. Instead, she confidently assessed my hair, knew exactly what needed to be done, and executed flawlessly. I told her my biggest issue is time and that's what kept me out of salons for many years. I hate sitting at a salon for hours, but this year I wanted to treat myself. She told me upfront that the service would be quick--and she was completely accurate. She handled color, cut, treatment, and amazing blowout efficiently without ever making it feel rushed. I arrived at 12:45 and was out of the chair by 2:15, which honestly felt incredible for everything that was done. She recommended a treatment to address the damage, which genuinely conditioned and smoothed my hair. She also took the time to consult with me on a cut that would complement my face shape, and the result completely wowed me. The blowout alone was amazing. I left feeling confident, refreshed, and genuinely happy. I'm officially done dyeing my own hair and plan to keep a standing appointment with Jeannette going forward. I walked into this Ulta explicitly looking for help. As someone with red hair, I tend to stray away from black mascara because it's just too harsh of a contrast with my natural hair. I walked in, and ended up finding two workers who were talking to each other. Since I needed help, I said, excuse me and told them what I was looking for (brown or brown/black mascara, preferably waterproof). They both looked at me as if I interrupted a conversation, and instead of walking me around and helping me and showing me different brands, they sent me to the other side of the store for a brand that you can get in the drugstore. I was pretty much sent away from their conversation without any assistance or any help from either of them. There was a busy line, but the rest of the store was empty, and there was no one in their section, except for somebody who was getting their make up done by somebody else. I left upset because I received no help even when I was looking for it. If I had known, I wasn't going to get any assistance I would have just gone to the drugstore to pick up the same brand for a lot cheaper than I ended up spending. Sometimes you pay for the Customer Service, but there was no reason that I should've, been dismissed. read more

So went here to have makeup professionally done. Was attending a very special wedding and wanted to look my best. BIG mistake. First, the makeup "artist" was late. Not by much, but I was in time crunch, so every minute mattered. The makeup?? Absolute WORST makeup I have ever had done. Asked for natural look, and wound up looking like I belonged in a casket! Makeup was so caked on, it literally started coming off in gobs. Big giant cat eyes, which is NOT a natural look! Eyelashes did not last until I pulled out of the parking lot before they fell off. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I was so excited when I realized this Ulta was so close to me but it's literally my least favorite Ulta. The associates don't really want to help the testers are AWAYS a mess. During my most recent and what will be my LAST visit to this store, the NYX foundation testers were so dirty foundation shot everywhere all over my coat and inside my eye. Anything going in your eye is a serious matter, no one seemed interested in helping me. I was looking to exchange my foundation for a different shade and possibly by more. Since no one wanted to help me with foundation in my eye, I decided this location won't receive anymore of my money. So instead I just did a return. During the transaction I tell the associate about what just happened and suggested they wipe Dow the testers, instead of asking if my eye was okay she just says thanks for the suggestion very smug. Horrible customer service and filthy testers. It would only take a makeup wipe to clean, its pure negligence. read more

I had a first time appointment with Kayte. I wanted to got a lighter blonde ombre with my hair. After 4 1/2 hours it was a disaster. I've had this done before at other salons and never saw anyone use the techniques she did. My hair had no transition, no blending at all and was a horrid color. I asked her to thin my hair which she did before anything else and she went way overboard. I have chunks of hair missing in sections. I called and the Manager Tiffany was very nice and refunded me. I went back to my original salon to fix me. I would never go back here again. Horrible experience. read more

I went in and had the head stylist do my hair. I a6aked for mushroom brown color. My hair was currently reddish with strawberry blonde highlights. The stylist was completely confident she'd nail the color I was asking for. After 6 hours of her coloring my hair over and over she blows me out and turns me to reveal my color. It was still reddish!!! Not at all not even close to what I asked for! She says to me "see I NAILED IT" The only thing she nailed was ruining my hair! All of that and it cost me $330 it took literally 5 months to get a refund. read more

My trip to ulta was honestly uncomfortable for me. I went in looking for a product that i was unable to find. I asked an associate for help at the front just for her to treat me as if i was unable to afford any other product then the ones in the isle you find drug store brands. I bought so much product just to go home incredibly dissatisfied and no longer wanting the products i was sold. Argh i can't believe I'm going from having a great experience to a horrible one! Ulta is usually my backup to Sephora because Sephora carries everything I use while ulta doesn't. Unfortunately Sephora didn't have the products I was looking for at the time so I called 2 Ulta locations asking to see if my shade in the Becca foundation and Too Faced concealer was absolve - this location and Horsham. After calling both locations and verifying the reps on the phone told me BOTH products were available I decided to drive to this location since it's closer to my house. Unfortunately when I get there, my Too Faced concealer shade was not available - this is after waiting for 20 minutes to see if someone could locate it in the back since it wasn't on the floor. After receiving this news, I was clearly annoyed since the whole reason for me to go to that store was because they told me it was in stock. The rep who told me it wasn't available was practically laughing in my face - maybe it was a nervous tick but this just agitated me more. She did try to help me find matches in other brands but apparently Ulta doesn't release samples? This is very bizarre to me and I never heard this but I was basically out of luck with this. The rep I was working with then pulled her manager over and she just made excuses for whoever answered my call ie maybe they got it confused with the foundation - even though I specially requested the concealer on the phone, or maybe stock numbers are not correct because of theft issues the store had. The best she could offer me was a free shipping promo code/offer to make an online order and ship the item to me for free. At this point, I had to leave so I took the promo code but haven't purchased the concealer yet. Hopefully Sephora will have it in stock by now! read more

Pam at the salon is the best! I recently relocated from California and was really sad to leave my hairstylist at the Ulta in my hometown. After having a horrible experience at the KOP location, I went to this location without any knowledge of who would be doing my hair. Pam did not disappoint. She listened to me, looked at the pictures I brought, and delivered the exact result I was wanting. She's also so sweet and genuine and great at multitasking. I will definitely be visiting again. First time coming to this Ulta and had a terrible experience. As soon as I walk in the security guard, who was just standing there before I walked in, starts following me around. I had one bag from Marshall's that was tied tightly as I bought 2 wrapping paper tubes, I was dressed in jeans and my raincoat. As an avid shopper and past sales associate for Sephora, I found this experience underwhelming. I went today to make a small purchase. I was asked for my phone number as soon as I walked up to the register. I wasn't even greeted with a hello. I was informed that I needed to be a rewards member in order to return merchandise. Their website does not say you need to be a rewards member to return merchandise. Don't make your appointment online. I made an appointment online just like the website encourages. I made on a Saturday for the following Thursday. Went into Ulta walked to back where they do hair. Said to the person standing there that I had an appointment. She said tonight? Then asked Oh did you make it online or talk to someone? I said online she said well we don't have anything listed and then mumbled something else possibly there isn't anyone here. Then just starred at me blankly. Never said another word. I love shopping at Ulta BUT NEVER again will I go into this one. My first or the managers problem was that I was white. Right as I walked in the door a gentleman there I asked where something was he pointed over to the left and said over there. I asked do you have Hatty Potter and before I finished he said no we don't have that. He walked away and I started talking to another worker about where things were she not only walked with me but showed me where everything was not only that what A surprise they had Harry Potter product. The same man went and got baskets I really thought he was getting me one . NO he handed two women of color baskets that had nothing in there hands I on the other hand had several things in my hand. I recently purchased an item on 12/2/18 & later decided to return the item. Although, I had my receipt and the item was purchased with a new Ulta credit card (I was coerced into signing up for) and not previously returned, it took these people 45 minutes to figure how to return my money. There was no rational explanation for their inefficiency and stupidity. I will never shop in this store ever again and caution others to be careful in case you need to return something. I contacted Customer Service and they were equally helpless while I had to wait in the store and kept my composure and not raise my blood pressure. NEVER AGAIN. BEWARE shoppers.
