I love the location of this store but the cashier customer service could be better. I was greeted upon arrival and had amazing help from one of the employees finding mascara and lipstick. Checkout process could have been better. For example, i needed to order an item online. The cashier just rang it up and asked for me to swipe my card. Didn't ask to confirm address which was years old or email confirmation plus didn't even read it back out to me. I hope I get it to my address because the receipt didn't get emailed to me. I will probably find another location. Hope things improve here, it's a great area. read more

All I can say is wow - I am floored by the lack of customer service. I went to pick up an $8 order and was turned away because my email with barcode was not enough - they needed ID. I live 25mins away and stopped in when I was nearby. They never asked if they could gather phone number or other info to validate who I was. I was so angered that I just said I wanted to Cancel the entire order, which they did using the barcode! Are you kidding me? That's how a Diamond rewards member is treated. I contemplated writing this review, as I typically prefer to promote and not complain however after sleeping on it decided it needed to be done. In all my years of having to get my hair blown out this is by far the worst overall experience. It all started upon booking the appt via app. I have long textured hair, so in the app you basically have to select two services for blow dry I then added a third service because typically after a blow dry I like a flat iron soft curl look. About 1 hour after I book I get a call from ulta calling it that I chose three services and they wanted to "better understand why". I explained my reasoning and they said "ok thank you we will explain this in detail to your stylist" (which by the way I chose an expert/senior stylist). I arrived the following day and the person at the register is taking care of someone and looks over to me to say "can I help you" to me it wasn't the best welcome but I'll take it, at least it wasn't something. Told her my name and she pointed me to a chair and said "you can sit there". She comes over to me and says. "What are we doing today" I respond with "blowout and soft curls with flat iron". She responds with are you doing a deep conditioner and I said no (I was already paying $100 for the services I preselected). She takes me to wash my hair, the water is barely warm after she's done and goes to dry she says I don't like to wrap hair in towels because it breaks the hair (now after the fact I find this funny) she sits me down in the chair and DOES NOT ask if there are any products that I wish not to use she just starts putting mouse and other type of products in my hair. Who uses mousse now a days? She starts blowing out my hair and I can barely feel the heat from the blow dryer (again if you have gotten blowouts you know what I mean). So basically my hair was cold air dried. She then goes to flat iron it. I preface to her to please curl my hair with the curls facing outward and not ineard she says "ok" . She starts curling my hair a few curls in she goes to show me how they look. I ask for them to be tighter and that I don't want volume. "She says ok totally get it". As she continues to curl my hair she keeps spraying hair spray. When She's done curling she says she's done and when she turns me around I have volume and my hair looks like it got wet from the frizz up front. She says she's willing to fix the volume and her solution was to spray hair spray and pat down the area. The solution should have been to blow it out better and curl it better she also went outward on my curls on one side and inward on the other. When I went to touch my hair it was not smooth she then looks at me and says "oh the mousse and hairspray don't leave residue and as soon as you comb them out your hair will be soft". I was so frustrated that I just had her leave it as is. Needless to say I left furious and disappointed. She didn't spend the whole time I paid for (1 1/2 hrs) she rushed through it. Out of respect because she did a service I left her a 20% tip (but will never do that again) As soon as I got home, I whipped out my Dyson and beacheaver and fixed my own hair for the next hour. My husband was with me and he said the things he heard were questionable and ppl didn't seem to know what they were talking about. I tried nothing at the store, I am a loyal ulta customer and needed to get some additional items but decided to leave as I was too upset to even shop. This is the worst place for salon services. I have been a ULTA salon customer for last 10 years (thankfully different locations) and referred numerous friends and colleagues. this happened first time. I had an event to attend next day and then I am flying for work. I went for a highlight, let the stylist know that i am looking for red highlights, showed her couple of pictures from internet, she suggested one of them against others as my hair is black/brown and I agreed She kept on pushing other items ( olapex for 25 bucks, it will be good for the toner, root touch for 66 bucks - otherwise highlights will not look good) I agreed all of it just mentioned only thing I am looking for is RED highlights on my black/brown hair i also told her I had a hard stop at 3 hours (she insisted that everything will be done by then). 3.5 hours after, I am left with light copper highlights. When asked she said "not a big deal- you can come back and we will put toner again". Didnt i say that I have an event next day and travel after? isnt that the reason for my 225 bucks hair treatment? Well she said she cant do anything now and told its not a big deal. I wanted to escalate she said she will call her manager and then disappeared I had to go and request multiple person and then after 20 mins manager talked to me. She again offered me that they will fix the hair another day, which I declined. Then she offered me a discount which I accepted. Now I am left with light copper highlights on my black hair that looks like a botched henna job on grey hair. Probably I will go to a different salon to fix this. I love supporting stores in my community so it makes me incredibly sad to refuse to shop at the Ulta in Prosper. The customer service is just horrible (and this is coming from a Diamond member)! I spent over $250 in a single transaction last month and had two items that were noted as Gift with Purchase. I wasn't told these gifts were unavailable until after I paid, and the associate's response when I asked was, "Oh, we're out of those." No offer of a sample of something else or anything. This last visit, my phone was laying on the counter with my coupon visible. I was asked a question about accepting a pre-approved card. While responding, I was told that I could tap my credit card for payment. I didn't realize my coupon hadn't been scanned and the receipt printed out. I told her that I didn't use my coupon. The associate said, "Oh, sorry about that." So just like that, I missed $10 off off of my $144 purchase and she didn't offer to do anything about it. I spend a lot of money with Ulta to get crap service. I guess I'll have to drive further to the Frisco Ulta where associates seem to care about the customers that spend money with them. read more

Terrible customer experience. Booked an appointment over a week in advance and got a text message 45 minutes before my appointment that my appointment was cancelled. I called the store and the stylist was out sick and so my appointment was cancelled. I was already en route there and woke up early on a Saturday to make this appointment. I totally understand that illness happens, but they gave me no options- no one helping to cover this person, and I was basically just told a snarky "sorry" without any true empathy at all. read more

Scheduled a curly cut with the head of education and supposedly the most experienced stylist there (these run 2 hours long). Got a call in the morning confirming my time at 2. Arrived 10 minutes early. At 2 she was not available, and I was told she was almost done. At 2:15 I was told she was just finishing up and would be right there. At 2:25 someone pointed her out to me, she looked up at me and was like "What's the problem?". The other stylist told her that I was wondering when my appointment would start, as we were already 25 minutes past, and she told me "It's a salon, things run late. If you need to go, then leave." So we left. She was incredibly rude. She could have given us a courtesy call to say she was running behind or offered to reschedule. Extremely unprofessional. I even had products in my hand ready to buy, which I just left there, refusing to spend any money at that location. I absolutely will not be coming here again. read more

Went there to get a haircut and asked for a trim, no more than 2-3 inches max with face framing layers to give it shape. I also inquired about potentially scheduling subtle high/lowlights and was told to my face that I was "too old" for stuff like that. I should have left then. Stylist took off 6 inches overall in a blunt cut with no layers save the nose length bangs that were chopped into the front then tried to hide it by curling it. Left the store in near tears. Well I got my hair done today and it was the worst experience I've had. 1st my scheduled appointment today at 10 AM. So I get there at 10 AM in there like I'm not even on the books. But they fit me in. Okay cool I'm happy. 2nd the chemical burnt me.... 3RD!!! They told me the result that I wanted isn't going to happen because I decided to take out the bleach earlier so my hair is not what I wanted ): but I literally came in with blonde hair and yes I had half my hair brown but now my hair blonde is way darker than what I came with when I ask for lighter. Yes I asked for ashy blonde but this is different from it all. Also not to mention my roots are purple and I had pictures to take today ): It burns so bad that I wanted to start crying almost. So I get home and my head just hurts. And each time I move my hair it burned. So I literally took a cold shower and put my head under it. But now I can't even brush my hair without it hurting. But gabby was super duper sweet but I didn't enjoy this one bit. I was there for 6 hrs. I know I tons of hair but I am not even satisfied. read more

I was just trying to get my birthday present and my account wasn't working no matter what I did. I asked the girl at the counter if she could help me, all I was trying to do was pickup my birthday present. She said I had to have the barcode on the app and I was explaining how I was struggling getting logged in but I gave her my phone number and that worked but she didn't use it. This could've accessed my account proving that I had the reward and then like checking it off that I already got it. Instead she was pretty rude. The main issue here is customer service. They were pretty rude and I did very clearly have an account, I wasn't lying so it was just pretty frustrating to deal with for multiple hours (tried logging in for literal hours trying everything I knew) on the day of my birthday. Anyhow, shop here if you like and you may have a much better experience than I but with coupons and deals like birthday gifts, you better sure as heck have your items together to check out. I've shopped at this Ulta multiple times and this was, by far, the worst experience I've EVER had. I am a loyal Ulta customer. I brought my daughter in for a makeup tutorial over a year ago (spent $400 on her makeup) and I am even a rewards member and have their credit card. I only share this to give context around how much I frequent Ulta, and this store specifically. I was in the store for about 20 minutes, trying to find a good foundation. I stood in the same 2 aisles, trying multiple shades between Clinique and Urban Decay. Not once did any of the at least 6 staff members acknowledge me at anytime. Not when I walked in, not during my several trips to get Kleenex to clean the makeup off my wrists and not when I finally got tired of waiting to be greeted/assisted and walked out the door. I probably wouldn't have been bothered by this appalling lack of customer service had it not been for the fact that 3 young girls walked in after I did and were greeted with a friendly "welcome to Ulta" and then were asked if they needed help finding anything twice - while I was less than 10 ft from them. Maybe it was because I was wearing no makeup, a baseball cap, leggings and a sweatshirt but I felt completely slighted and actually took the time to type this review before driving off. I will definitely be calling to speak with a store manager tomorrow about this experience. read more

Came for a blowout and again disappointed..I don't know where these stylists went to beauty college but they suck!!! Who uses mousse these days really !? It's not the 80s anymore! My roots are greasy with leftover conditioner and my hair is sticky with a shit ton of MOUSSE and hair spray. The "lose curls" that I asked for look and feel disgusting. The point of a blowout is to have fresh clean hair that is styled with a blow dryer and a round brush. That's it! Also every time I go here the stylist are always pissed off at their manager about their schedule...This place could use new management and the stylist could use some training from DRY BAR. read more

Every recommendation I've got from here has been great! Was there from 12-7 (sat in a room with developer on my head for an hour when I was told "that will sit for 20 min, I'll be right back" to not be seen for the next hour and then eventually had to be rescheduled due to lack of time.?????. Hairdresser was nice, rest of staff not. I was forced to pay for service that was not performed yet. When I refused I was ab to be told options but instead the sentences kept ending in self spasm of acting like I'm some kind of super villain. And couldn't quite get the whole sentence out. So I called cops because I was being accused of stealing/theft of services that were never performed. (Willing to pay at the end of session just like normal... not my fault a 3-4 hour job took 2 days) so after cops come, and they lie lie lie and call corporate. They dropped all charges, but just cuz they can, banned me from ever coming back to store (also promised to fix my hair) haha. Will never be back. And will make this very aware, don't go here. Not even to buy. Customer service is HORRIBLE. They truly do not care about you, just your money. That is all they want, to a hunger of not even being able to be smooth about it. I went to Ulta today because I needed help finding a concealing makeup and I had no idea what to purchase or where to even start looking. I knew Ulta was a good store based on their reputation with the people I know who shop there. Anyway, as soon as I walked, Aymen (sounds just like Amen) greeted me. I told him my issue and what I was looking for and he went right to work to help me find the perfect concealer as well as asking me what I liked/didn't like with make-up. I'm a 5-10 minute face kind of girl. I spend most of my time on a healthy skin care regimen, but I don't wear much makeup. After Aymen was done with me at the beauty bar, I looked like myself again and the makeup feels weightless and looks so natural, which is right up my alley. No more unsightly blemish/discoloration on my skin. His help was an instant confidence boost! I can see why Ulta has the reputation it has, and I think they are lucky to have someone like Aymen taking care of their customers. He cared about my issue and went the extra mile to make sure I was happy, and set me on the right path, without trying to sell me the entire store. He also showed me how to use the products and the best way to apply them (which I greatly appreciated!) As a matter of fact, everyone I spoke with in the store was very friendly. It's nice to have a place that's willing to help you find the right products and to make sure you leave looking gorgeous! I'm a believer now and I'll be back. Mainly at check out I have had to ask about specials, etc with the person having no clue to what is going on, or will not even look to see if they actually have it (a give away). Just went to this Ulta with two of my friends, the customer service at this particular location is usually kind of strange but today I've had it. I went up to the cash register to buy the products I had picked out and had set a limit of money that I would spend today there, I have money to spend but I didn't want to waste it all because I've been trying to save recently. When I got up there the price was a little more than I expectedAnd the lady checking me out, Alex had a rude tone and facial expression when I asked her how it got to that price. I asked her to please put back one of the products she did it rudely and checked me out. Next my friend came to check out her product. I first I thought maybe it was just me and that I was overreacting but when my friend got up there she also gave her a super rude face and that's when I looked at both of my friends to see if they felt the same feeling and they both looked at me like what's going on with her?I don't know if she was having a bad day but this is never the type of way to treat your customers who are buying from you, makes me not want to even shop there. New location in Prosper and I'm so happy it's a good one! I absolutely love it! I went in looking for a foundation which is always super hard for me because it's summer time and I tan quickly. I saw Justin & he was amazing and very knowledgeable. He helped color match my skin tone and find the foundation that Has all of the things I need from a foundation & gave me great tips and even some samples. The customer service is great and they have so many products to chose from. I've been to other locations and they're not as friendly or helpful at all. So glad to have a good Ulta store so close to home! read more

I love the shopping center in Prosper. It is 10 min from my house. I have been to this Ulta location a couple of times and I love the range of products it carries, versus other Ulta stores I have been to. However, I don't care for RUDE employees at this store!! I seen an ad on Facebook about this salon in Prosper. The salon manager posted a pic of the hair color (Midnight Melt) that I had been wanting. I made the appt with her and she assured me with her 20 years experience she could give me that color. The color wasn't even close.....it was a granny gray...style also. I had to wait a few weeks before going back for her to "fix" the color at no charge. This time I got an old lady blue and costs me $78 more. My coworkers thought I died it that color for Halloween! Both times she had to bleach my hair down to blonde which my hair doesn't handle well. Now 2 weeks later, the color has faded (even though she used permanent color). I am left with an awful faded gray frizz with blue on the ends. I hate to write bad reviews, but I went twice and spent nearly $200 and am embarrassed of my hair. This morning the manager called me to tell me that my scheduled hairdresser called off sick. She offered me an elite stylist who would have cost me twice as much! Considering I was already paying for a sitter so that I could get my hair done, this increased cost was simply out of the question. I was a first-time customer and I was bringing my teenager in to get her eyebrows done during my appointment. Knowing this, I would expect the manager would have honored the original price that I agreed to when I scheduled my appointment. This was really poor customer service and now I'm out the money for a sitter. I can't imagine that I would ever visit a store that thinks so little of their customer's time and money. read more

I don't usually do reviews, but I just had to after my experience. I'm not perfect and I have flaws. I work two full-time jobs and go to school full-time. Sometimes I get too tired to wash and style my hair, so I decided to stop by this Ulta! When I walked in I was greeted nicely by everyone and not once did I feel pressure to by anything like at the other Ultas. When I was walking back to get my hair done I saw the nicest worker. She was so nice and patient as I explained what I wanted. She told me about the deals and how her passion is making people feel great, and how she really wanted me to feel more confident before I left. She was so professional and just down to earth. Ulta did a great job finding and hiring her!! 10/10 will forever come back and tell others about this place. If you come in to get your hair done PLEASE ask for Brittany. She's the best. If I could give zero stars I could. EVERYTHING YOU READ HERE ABOUT THE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CORRECT. I went to the Ulta at Stonebriar in Frisco. The service was amazing from the moment we entered. I will be giving them a 5 star review. Unfortunately they were out of the product I was looking for due to the Beauty Offer Sale. The rep in Frisco called the Prosper location who confirmed they had the product and would hold on for me until 9pm. I drove to Prosper, entered the store and the product was sitting on a display right at the front. I started to pick one up but she said she had one held for me. I waited in line while one associate rang some out, the other closed a register and third person walked up. No one said hello, we will be right with you, nothing. I get to the front and tell the representative I am here from the Stonebriar location. She knows exactly who I am and what I am looking for. She proceeds to tell me we don't hold items and that are apart of the beauty offer its first come first serve. If it's first come first serve that's fine, no worries there. Mind you the product is right at the front of the store on the beauty offer display rack. What she should have done was offered me one off the rack and then explained the policy to me. She never tried to do anything about the problem except explain a policy to me. I was a store manager for 10 years, we had a statement called "people not policy" meaning consumers don't know our policy and it our job to take care of the customer instead of shoving our policy at them. I purchased a beauty offer yesterday and looked forward to today's offer. I drove fro nothing. The girl in Stonebriar checked the back, called another store and went over and beyond. This store had the item right in the front and couldn't make it happen. Disappointing. read more
