I normally go to this location just because it's the closest one to me but this last visit was completely ruined by the rude cashier. When I arrived they were barely setting out their Christmas gift sets which many of them did not have prices. While looking around the manager gave me a price on something and let me know about the deal with it . Once I arrived up front to pay , I was not greeted , I was not asked how was my visit, literally nothing . She begins to scan my items and I asked her to let me know the prices since they didn't have any on the floor yet . She stopped and took a big breath and began to tell me prices and started smacking around the products I spent almost $200 on. Crazy thing is this cashier was the one who signed me up for their credit card last time and was all about it and this time she was extremely rude . I went shopping for make up at ULTA and a new face wash! My face was breaking out at the time, Jaylynn the estetician suggested some dermalogica products and suggested a facial! I shopped around a little while and decided to go ahead with the express facial! Jaylynn is amazing and I highly suggest her! She is super friendly and very gentle! My face began clearing up that same day! If I wasn't just visiting and lived in the area I would go to her regularly! She is awesome! Get a facial with jaylynn you won't regret it! Assistant Manager Andy (female), is very condescending/rude. I took a bottle of Issey Miyake D'EAU D'ISSEY Eau de Toilette to exchange for another. The bottle I had was alcohol. No perfume smell at all. The cost was a little over $100. She came over and said we have a problem with the amount used, not looking at me in the eye. She preceded with the transaction as I responded with "first it's alcohol and it was not filled to the top probably because it's alcohol. I am 70 years old and I am not a flake. I've never had a bad experience at this Ulta. The staff is always friendly and I've been greeted at the door every time I've walked in. I also always get asked if I need help. The store is clean, and the bathroom is even cleaner. The Salon services are excellent. Heather is my go to girl. She is friendly, and has amazing talent. She has actually become a real friend. I will never have anyone else touch my hair. Everyone should give her a shot! Jailyn is a Dermalogica esthetician and she is great! We have a blast when she does my facials. Very poorly managed store. Probably the dirtiest Ulta I've ever been in. One bathroom sink was broken, and the working sink was filthy. There were black, smeary footprints all over the floor in the halls and walkways. Stock was very low on many shelves, and they were completely out of the two products I specifically went there for. Yet the store was packed with people due to a promotion by Two Faced. (Whose reps were lovely.) Overall, this was a very negative experience, and I am not likely to ever go back. read more

I've had a few problems with this Ulta. One time I visited they charged me twice for a single item which luckily was an easy fix but required me to go back to the store. Alyssa F. gave me the best customer service I've ever received! I went in recently unsure of what kind of foundation I needed for my oily skin and Alyssa set me out. She spent 30 minutes with me finding the right products for my skin and helping me try them out on my skin to make sure I was pleased. She was so patient, helpful, and kind the entire time, even when I was asking 1,000 questions. Not only did she help me find makeup I love, she had me laughing the whole time and made me feel so comfortable. I was a long time Sephora customer, but after the excellent service Alyssa provided me with, I have absolutely switched to Ulta being my goto place for all my makeup needs. I'm surprised to see so many bad reviews of this place. I went in yesterday for the first time and had a great experience. Compared to other ultas I've gone to, this one was awesome! It was well stocked and the girls were very helpful. I went in for a Becca Ever matte foundation and was happy to see they were well stocked and had my color. I was asked if I needed any help finding anything and they offered to color match me. They also recommended a great moisturizer for me which I am now obsessed with! Maybe they got a new staff or something but all around I loved this place and will most definitely be back! read more

So as I'm washing my face a women tells me I can't wash my face in there anymore so in a mocking, sarcastic fashion she tells me to have a good day so I told her I'm not leaving. I needed a gift and the associate showed me what I actually ended up getting. She was very knowledgeable about the products and answered my questions beyond my expectations. Absolutely in love with this store. Their facial is something I'd pay 300-400 for and barely paid $60. They were all so happy and helpful. The quality of the products were absolutely wonderful and Jailia was absolutely amazing. So nice and extremely knowleable, as well as helpful with everything. It literally felt like an angel touched my face and made it better. I scheduled several appointments in advance as it was extremely awesome. I am so happy to find a place with such quality close to home and a girlfriend type of place where girls can be girls and have a wonderful time. Can't wait to go back. wanted to return a product I received from my birthday and I was told without a receipt and rewards # I could not make a return or exchange. I called the manager over and asked If I can just make an exchange of the same product. She also said no. I went online to look up their return policy and it states "A return without a receipt and without the use of an Ultamate rewards card ; refund will be on a merchandise credit at the current lowest selling price". I went in today to try and get my hair trimmed. Worse customer service I have ever experienced!!! Started off they said the hairdresser had a 2:00pm appointment. And if he didn't show up she would take me. As it was after 2. So she called me up to start inputting my information. By this time it's 2:15. She's asking me my name I proceed to tell her and here comes the 2pm down the aisle with a family member that obviously worked there laughing making a scene. Well as I'm at the counter the girl(hairdresser) turns and walks away I'm left standing there. I wasn't to upset because he showed up I was more upset because of no communication. I had a wedding to attend so I decided to make a blow out appt at this location.... lol what a waste of time and money!!! I walked in at my scheduled time and requested blow out and style... told ok would you like to wash her hair I said no because I had an event and wanted to just Have a blow out and style. Stylist convinced me saying it would be easier to style and blow out... so while she washing we're talking explained that I am attending a Wedding blah blah blah and then she start to blow dry my hair... took her an hour to shampoo and dry my hair... yes I said DRY with a blow dryer and a round brush that want ULTA considers a blow out and style... what a joke... I could have done that at home... I come in with straight hair and had to purchase a curling Iron because I was walking out with straight hair... decided I would call and speak to management... what happened to customer is also right? It's the NOT deal here, manager placed me on hold to speak to the stylist and came back saying "well she said that you liked it walking out since I wasn't there to hear the conversions she did what you asked a blow out which is a blow dry with a dry brush" please excuse My ignorance but I have gotten this done before and I had bouncing hair with a wave why is it she just dried it straight? And I know I should have said something during but like I stated was headed to a wedding ! Keep in mind that most folks running to Yelp to review a business are usually doing so for a perceived negative experience. Yelp is a notorious method of retaliation for folks, even those completely in the wrong and constructively omitting their own abhorrent behavior. This site by no means is a court of law. That being said, stores run out of stock on products all of the time, in every business. That is retail, folks. I know that there is quite a few priveledged folks in this town that have never had to work a "menial" retail job that don't understand that fact, but it is true. Consider yourself lucky if you have never had that necessity. Ulta is one of the few places that returns used product, because they understand that you need to try something to see if it works or not. The problem with the beauty business is that the mentality of a much larger percentage of the clientele than say, Toy's R Us, Home Depot,  or Chaparral, is very insecure to begin with. Now add any perceived slight, be it real or most likely, a misunderstanding of the entire situation, and you have an angry chick with a keyboard getting her "revenge" by writing a nasty Yelp review.  No consideration for any of the families that might be dependent on that retail paycheck their mommy must go out and get, doing the best she can to make her guests feel welcome so that they continue to return to the store. Many of the folks that work at this store are not there for the "prestige" of it, so the mention of "condescension" is comical. Every day they are faced with nasty, needy people who wouldn't give class or consideration a second thought, and despite doing everything possible to try and please these folks, there is absolutely nothing they can do to make them happy. Obviously, not all gripes are unfounded, but taking into consideration that people are more likely to be motivated to put down a nasty review than a great one should speak volumes. You will see the same thing with the Yelp pages for similar stores in the area, like Sephora. This Ulta store is also extremely busy, and it is for good reason. Folks return to the store again and again for its excellent service, and numbers don't lie. I have always been taken care of here; they even put items on hold for me if I call ahead of time to check and see if they are in stock. They have returned hundreds of dollars of product for me that I didn't like or couldn't use. I never once gave a rats behind whether or not I could snap my fingers and have someone do backflips at my behest. I have had trouble downloading store coupons on my phone, and the staff offers to scan one for me anyway at the register. As long as I could get what I came in for cheaply, and in one trip instead of driving all over, all was good. That being said, I love this store, dig the service, the cleanliness, and the location close to my house. read more

This place is AWFUL!!! I have never been to such a horrible ULTA In my life! If i could give it negative stars I would! Never ever have I witness such horrible customer service like this! I went with my best friend because she needed to get a new urban decay foundation, few days before Christmas she had bought one and didn't notice the one she purchased had been used. So she tried to return the used product they refused the return and would not compensate for a new one. They express to her that would never happen on their shelves we do not put used products on our shelves.After countless phone calls later she spoke with L'Oreal ( the producer of urban decay where they reimbursed her for the money loss). We were in the area and thought we would check to see if they had any more foundation because she still needed to get foundation since the one she purchased was used. They were sold out in her color match, she went to the next shade up and inspected the box sure enough this one had been used too after she had been told in person and on the phone by managers this could never happen. Went to show it to the clerk and she just passed it off saying ok like it was nothing. She then asked to speak with the DM (because obliviously this needed to be brought to their attention) and the clerk was like well she was here and will be back shortly. So we waited surprised that the DM would be there on a Friday before new years. She then was introduced to The GM not the DM However, she still wanted it to be brought to her attention! I was down the same aisle shopping looking at nail polish hearing the whole conversation.During the conversation the manager was very defensive and very rude! In addition, did not offer her any way to fix this obvious problem their store was having, The whole time my friend was very calm and did not yell or scream at her, just explained this is a problem with your staff and needs to be address. However, at the ended of the conversation the Manager instead of offering a solution to fix it told her " you have offended me and i am going to have to ask you to leave" which my friend politely replied" OK I will leave " I had to drop the items I was going to buy and leave them because my best friend was being kicked out of the store, when she did nothing wrong!! I am seriously horrified that this is how a customer gets treated after just listing a simple complaint!! This is ridiculous! My friend and I have been in customer service our Whole lives. Never in a million years would we treat a customer like this! I could understand if she was making a scene yelling or screaming but she was very calm during it all!!! I am a platinum member and spend well over a few grand a year at Ulta. I have been told for years that if there is a problem with a product to bring it back and they would be happy to exchange it. However, now I witness in person that is not true and that they do not honor that motto! And to be asked to leave a store when trying to address that motto/issue is appalling and such a horrible insult to the customer! I will never again go to anyone but Nina at the benefit brow bar! I went in today to get my eyebrows waxed because I am getting engagement photos done next week. First, the girl said "I'm just going to check my wax" (now I will say this is only my second time going, and I thought it was strange that she didn't map my eyebrows out first) next thing you know she starts waxing my eyebrows. I just figured each esthetician has their own way of waxing (later I found out that they are only supposed to wax the Benefit way). She basically rushed through my eyebrows (little did I know she was going to lunch). When she let me see them, something seemed off but I couldn't really figure out what was wrong. When I left and got in my car, I noticed my eyebrows were two completely different shapes and one was shorter than the other! I was so mad I almost cried! I know that I should have gone back in but I was too upset. So now my makeup person is going to have to work magic on my messed up eyebrows!! Do not let them wax you if they aren't going to do it the benefit way!! read more

We used to go to Ulta in Moreno Valley when they opened and were happy we also had an option off the 60 fwy once the Redlands location opened. I have used their brow bar with the evening person who was just fantastic. I've also been helped by different associates whenever I needed it. My experiences here have all been positive with the one exception of today. My only complaint is that we paid for a 1 hour facial for my daughter. They called her and asked her to come in 15 minutes later for her appointment. We got there on time and they only gave her a 45 minute facial but charged her full price. If I'm paying for a 1 hour facial, I expect to get 1 hour, otherwise, charge me for 45 minutes only. If I am running late, I understand I am running into my service time but if Ulta is running behind, I shouldn't have to be cut short and charged full price. I hope this is not standard practice here. read more

Do not schedule a facial with Jalen at the Redlands location.!!!! had to take time out of my busy schedule to reach out and call their corporate customer service today and will be speaking to their Illinois office Monday. Please do not book an appointment with their aesthetician Jalen.!!!Very poor customer service...! I had been a regular customer receiving facials . I would tip Jalen 10 dollars from a 30 dollar facial, because that's the type of customer I am...despite the fact one time she left the chemicals on my face too long and I received a scar from a burn .. Which I may also reach out the the state board to document..Had to rescheduled today as I have had to previously due to the nature of my job.. I work in the medical profession and sometimes get called at the last minute..after purchasing hundreds of dollars of products and tipping well over what she is worth... I was rudely told I will be placed on a " walk in basis" . Truth is me calling was a courtesy, I really did not have to call at all... Spoke to Page today also at this location calling to leave my information for their district manager.. Was rudely hung up on.. Spoke to corporate and informed me this is not Ultas policy, but just some policy Jalen decided to make up on her own.. Also caught her looking through some of my personal items I happened to bring into the store while I was getting a facial.. I guess when working for a company people tend to think they own the company.. Will also be filings complaint with Dermalogica since Ulta and this employee represents their brand. Will be looking forward to hearing back from their district and regional management, but if this is how their baseline employees treat customers.. Probably no better.. I value my time and work hard for my money.. If you do also I would recommended taking your business to another place!!!!!
