Workers were very rude. Would not let me return my product that was damaged when I purchased it. I told them I was not aware it was damaged and they would not let me return it. They got the manager and she said there is nothing she can do. Ridiculous because there is always something you can do. They were eating the whole time I was there. ulta does not appreciate their customers. I really miss shopping there, but was treated SO poorly. After weeks of trying to allow them to make it right they concluded that I am not important enough of a customer to do anything for me. The salon in Ulta destroyed my hair. I did not pay for the services. They offered me a free salon service to make things right... like I would EVER trust them with my hair again. HA! Then they offered me a thoughtless gift of things "they give away for free anyway", things I would NEVER use. Things you would give to somebody who goes clubbing on the weekends or likes to wear heavy night makeup (which is completely beautiful and fine but I am a mother of two who rarely gets out and I only need my essentials) they refused to issue me a giftcard for the amount of the gifts they offered. (probably because they wanted to skate by on giving me free stuff they hand out to customers and employees as gifts anyway) this MULTI BILLION dollar company couldn't afford to give me a gift card to use IN THEIR STORE to make amends on what they did to my hair, how much money I had to spend elsewhere to get it fixed... HUNDREDS of dollars in services and products to reverse the damage done by the bleach this man applied THREE TIMES in one sitting, a service that took FIVE HOURS of my time. MY time that I had to pay a babysitter for. MY time that I never ever get to myself because I am a full time student, have a full time job, have a family. But us little people are not important to Ulta. Us little people do not matter. NEWS FLASH. Us little people... the moms who shop there, the teenagers who shop there, anybody who shops there IS IMPORTANT. We are what makes your company successful. You should be more grateful. Maybe you guys can't afford to make up for all your mistakes because maybe there are more frequent than you'd like to admit, maybe you would go bankrupt if you made things right for everybody you disappointed. Maybe THATS why your company told me that I should be grateful for what you offered me, even if it was things I would never use, and to "take it or leave it because I was being ungrateful" Thank you for disrespecting me so much. My husband and I were shopping here on Friday. We were checking out and my husband was having a conversation with the cashier and right in the middle of the conversation she says and I quote "Now sir you are gonna have to pull your mask up over your nose. Now my husband has a beard and every time he says something his mask comes down under his chin. We own 2 successful businesses. We fight the mask fight everyday. If a person is checking out and trying to be nice the last thing you expect would be some one who really doesn't know the struggle jumping on a 55 year old man checking out. If you are gonna pick a fight, pick a fight with someone who is really abusing the mask thing all the time, not the one time you decide to talk to them. Maybe some customer service training is in order. He complied but we were both in shock of the condescending attitude and what would she do if he didn't? Call the police? You know the police that have said they are not gonna enforce the mask thing? We were leaving! And we won't be back. Last night i had the worst customer service at this ulta, i wanted to check out this lipstick ive been having my eye on for a long time now, i ask this girl that works there if i can take a look at it she says "uh.. i guess" I was like "well theres not a tester" So she said i could open it and just put it out as the tester after that she decided to try to be "low key" and follow us around the whole store as if my friend and i were stealing note that this happens often when i come in. I went to my appointment and told her I needed my brown roots to be blonde like the rest of my hair. The only thing I needed was to not have it go all the way down to my scalp because I can't afford to come back every few weeks to get it touched up and I didn't want it to grow out with a blunt line between the blonde and my roots (and the last time I went all the way to the scalp the chick burned my head). Then a toner to get it all looking cohesive. So, all over blonde on my roots but instead of going all the way to the scalp, just use the brush to feather it in so when it grows out a little it won't look too bad. Sounds simple enough. Except Cici was extremely confused. She kept saying she could do highlights but that isn't what I wanted. Then she said she was going to get the manager so I waited for her to finish her other appointment. While we were waiting, she said that she didn't feel confident enough to be able to do my hair and maybe someone else should do it. So that wasn't comforting at all. Then the manager came over and told me that what I was asking for was difficult and kept suggesting highlights and partial highlights and a balayage. They wouldn't listen when I kept trying to say I didn't want those things. I just wanted all the roots to be blonde but apparently they can't do that. omg where to begin?! So i was trying to get color matched for a good foundation. everyone was telling me to use the too faced born this way foundation, so i decided to try it. Abigail helped me out today, and we started discussing the product and how it would turn out with my skin type. She reccomened to try the urban decay all mightier foundation, so we did, and i loved it so much! and she matched my color perfectly. i didn't feel rushed at all, she seemed like she was genuinely trying to help me get the absolute best product/s for what o was looking for. Anyways so i was telling her i had to decide between a foundation or laura mercier setting powder, and she reccomened (since i was on a budget) an amazing 8 dollar one that i love. she even talked with other workers to make sure it would be a powder i would end up loving. she spent so much time out of her day just to help me, which i extremely appreciate especially when it comes to makeup becuase i want to make sure i spend my money well. I went to the salon to get my highlights touched up and asked for something subtle as I was having a baby two weeks after and didn't want my hair to look too bad as it grew out. The hairstylist I went to was Anna and it seemed like she was rushing through my appointment so she could go on break. I ended up with a big blond chunk right at the top of my hairline making it impossible to pull back into a ponytail because it looked like a big bleach blond stripe. Certainly not subtle in any way. Not only that, the highlights only went halfway down the length of my hair, so even wearing my hair down looked strange. I made an appointment at another salon and got all over dye to cover up the mess I was left with. I will not be going back to this salon ever again. read more

Used Teddi Hatch for coloring my medium Brown hair and she out is Carmel highlights and did a great job. Very nice and professional and will use her again. They are sorta expensive but in Reno you're lucky to get anyone who knows what they are doing and can consistently do your hair . The Benefit Brows in California (Macy's) is 200% better than the services offered at ULTA in Reno. I recently moved back to Reno and went to the ULTA location in Field Crossing (Off McCarran) and the brow waxing was the WORST!!!!!. DO NOT GO TO THE GIRL - NEVADA.....she only knows limited waxing and doesn't complete the brow treatment with trimming or tweezers. Wow....I can do DIY in home waxing better. Note****I tipped her and paid for the treatment to stop her from talking about herself and boyfriend. I will return my other purchases tomorrow and order online from Bloomingdales. I didn't think I would have to spend time at Ulta as much as I did today, the cashier Josey, was super nice super scared to her supervisor this big heavy lady who was sooo very rude. At first, as I'm shopping she approached me since the sensor on the perfumes was going off! asking if I needed anything making me feel uncomfortable made me feel like I didn't have money to shop. From that moment on she didn't take her eyes off of me. I felt very judge that I didn't have money to shop and I'm trying to steal something. By the time I got home to register and pay Josey was kind and helped me. So first Josey, rang me up and completed the transaction, but forgot to offer me to use my current points $$$ so Josey, ended up redoing the whole transaction. Josey didn't really know how return works, she called the manager a few times to get help. The manager was giving me a dirty look the whole entire time. I felt very uncomfortable. I am a member at Ulta and I always shop at this location, but this was the very first time I was treated this way. I'm considering not shopping at Ulta ever again!!! Linda is the best hair dresser I have ever had. She knows how to color blonde hair beautifully. She put highlights and low-lights on my brassy thin blonde hair and turned me into a rockstar. I totally recommend Linda, she is the salon manager and she also recommended products for me to take home. Not only did I get a great cut and style I now have the products to help me look great. Great experience! Hannah was the girl who helped me. I always just got my make up at Walmart over the years and I finally decided to get some real help. I walked in and Hannah offered to help me. I was very blunt in the fact that I know nothing about make up, and did not want to be over whelmed. I told her what I wanted, she she found it exactly. She even took the time to show me how to apply it all and I left feeling great! Also the prices were a lot more reasonable that I expected. I recommend ulta, I swear it was the same price and way better quality than Walmart, and I've been getting my make up from Walmart for years! If your new to the make up world, go see the place! And I definitely recommend Hannah if you don't want to be over whelmed and find what you want. read more

More employees than customers this morning but I waited patiently for the young lady in my particular section to finish with another customer ... never to return. Several other employees passed by without a word. When I asked for assistance, a young woman said, "let me do this and I'll be right back." She also did not return ... when I finally set my $100+ purchase on an endcap and left she was at the register. Several others were available but socializing with fellow employees. I usually go to this ulta because it is close to work and is the only location with Colourpop. Sometimes the people working there are okay and I get what I need. I'm usually a solo shopper and don't need any help, so it gets annoying when they ask 800 times. Anyway, this time and the last three times I have been there, its been impossible to get help when I needed it. There have been gaggles of girls sitting at the front counter laughing and ignoring anything else in the store or looking out the window because their friends are messing around outside. During these purchases, I was rang up through all of this and then my bag was handed to me without so much as a goodbye. Super rude. Last time I was there without needing help, I was asked if I needed help, I said no thanks, and the girl sat there staring at me like I had kicked her dog. She then turned around and walked off without another word. Today was the last straw. I went in looking for concealer. I asked the nearest staff for recommendations. I asked between two brands, she said the other. She was behind me then, so I asked her how I could figure out the best shade between two. She goes, "um...you swatch it." And walked off. My hands are full, I'm looking for a little direction, and it was not worth any time to her. I ended up having to ask the cashier which looked best after bringing them both up because she couldn't be bothered. Sorry this is so long, but this place has seriously gone downhill since moving locations. The Spanish Springs location has a better variety (besides colourpop, because people shop less there due to distance) and the staff is always helpful and always where customers would need them to be. I was at this Ulta last week because I was staying at Atlantis nearby. I had a 20%off coupon in addition to a sample gift offer emailed to me(I think because I'm a platinum member and I spend quite a bit at Ulta). I bought 2 boxes of Biore that had $1 coupons attached to the box. I informed the cashier of the coupons & she couldn't get the coupon to register. Then she asked me where I got the coupons from as if they were counterfeit. I then informed her they were just torn from the box a minute ago, in front of her. Then she scanned my 20% off coupon & said all 3 coupons worked. I then produced my sample coupon & she just said they were out. Didn't even bother to check or offer a substitute. I asked for a substitute sample & her reply was NO. To make matters worse, I found that the coupons were not applied on the receipt, when I was unpacking at home. Worst customer service ever! Second time to this store and it will be my last. I take it you need an appointment just to buy product! I knew exactly what I wanted to purchase, but of course it is locked away. I over five minutes just to locate an employee on the floor. Once I did find someone who was sauntering through the aisles, she indicated she was with another customer. She did try to notify another employee to help me. This person had been chatting it up with her friend and I did not even realize she was working! They were so loud I had been listening to them from the time I walked in and their conversation was not business related. The second employee, once asked by the first employee to assist me, turns and glares at me and says she will be with me when she is finished with her customer. I waited a couple of minutes for them to wrap up their conversation. When it took long enough from me to realized I was unimportant, I left, walking by the second employee, glared back at her and informed her she had just lost a $100 sale as that was approximately what the two products I wanted retail for. This was my first time giving Ulta a try and wow just a bad experience overall. They have signs in every window and throughout the store stating free 3 piece gift with a Pureology purchase. Ok, awesome because that's what I was here to look at, and I get a gift on top of it if I buy from here, I am pretty much sold as a customer here. So I end up getting the liters of shampoo and conditioner and bringing to the front by the register. There's only one person working the register, and it's seriously taking her 5-10 minutes per customer. I understand trying to relate to the customer by saying oh I love blah blah, but seriously when customers have to wait in line 30 minutes while you BS and make small talk is ridiculous. There was another woman that was just walking around, I am not sure what the heck she is doing, but she keeps walking to register then walking off again, so she can clearly see the line of people waiting. So 30 minutes of waiting I am finally up to the register, she signs me up for their rewards program, ok not sure what the rewards even are. At least at Sephora I can clearly see at the register what I can get with points, here I have no clue. So finally get checked out and on my way. Down the street when I getting gas, I think wait a minute I didn't get the gift that they have advertised all over their store. So I drive back, of course there is a line where I wait 10 minutes, while they try to find more products around the store for the person at the register. What the heck!?? Why don't you have this lady go to the side, have someone who isn't working the register go help her find what she needs. Finally, she notices that I'm back and looks confused, I point to the sign and say wasn't I suppose to get a gift? She looks confused and said, "oh what are you pointing at?" Ummm... the sign that is plastered all over this place (I didn't say this). Then she says, "Oh yea, I tried to see if we had any when you bought it, but didn't see any, so that's why I didn't give it to you." Ok, this makes it even worse, so you knew that my purchase should have included the gift and instead of saying, "I am sorry we are out," or making the excuse, "We just ran out." You decide to hope I won't notice, which back fires because I now go out of my way to drive all the way back here, stand in line again, and listen how you didn't really care about me as a customer. She obviously could tell I am annoyed then starts looking through their cupboards that are disheveled and finds this crappy looking bag that says Pureology on it and some other lame saying on it, that no one in their sane mind would ever use unless you were a hairdresser.
