    I paid $475 with a $200 tip to Ulta. I really didn't want to say anything. But I even went back and asked how much it would be to fix it. They said around $400, but with only the front, just $175 more. I learned my lesson. $675 I could get my hair highlighted with actual gold. I went to another salon and they asked me if I did this to my own hair! But for $100+ a hefty tip. They made me feel like me again! I did like the people in Ulta, but Ulta is a great at selling product and that's about it.

    The first time I saw Maggie she was really sweet. Her 'assistant' at the time 'washed' my hair. Maggie styled and cut it but the wash wasnt good. Leaving the salon my hair was flaky from the product that was in my hair prior. Before leaving I did ask Maggie next time can they wash my scalp and hair she said yes. But i also realized my hair was flaking from the old product. Like i said prior, Maggie has skills, but looking back she should have doubled checked her assistant's work. Also I gave Maggie the benefit of the doubt and rebooked with her. My second appt (4/15/2023 @3:30- I was 12 minutes late and learned about a 'policy' that they had that wasn't disclosed, like any other business does. Maggie told me when I was eating around after being checked in for a few minutes that "we are like a doctors office, if your 15 minutes late we will need to cancel your appointment and reschedule" Im thinking that the non- disclosed 'policy' of being 15 min late is Maggies policy. Not the stores. If so it would have been in the text & they probably would have trained everyone to disclose it. Not to mention per photo (email I sent to management at Ulta) I was 12 min late and they cancelled my appointment even after I called to inform them I was running 12-15 minutes late. It would have been nice to have been told that while I was on the phone with them, and not when I arrived at the store. Also if it was the stores policy, why doesn't all the other stores honor it & disclose the policy to their customers. This would makes sense of why the receptionist wasn't upfront about it, because it may just be Maggie's policy. Regardless its not how you run a well operated business. I have A MBA among other degrees and have consulted Poor customer services tends to catch up with a business. Also the embarrassing comment of "gotta get in your roots" in front of other customers who aren't ethnic, black etc is a bit much. Regardless no one wants to hear how much work their client hair is. I kinda now see how people of color can take/ percieve some of the staff at this store as racist in these yelp reviews. Btw I wouldn't have been late if i didn't feel the need to pre-wash my hair. Sometimes giving people the benefit of the doubt isn't worth it. After I left the store in Renton, I sat in my car shocked on how I was treated, while looking for another appointment elsewhere. Since no one was able to see me until the following Thursday (per receptionist). I saw Maggie leaving the store on her cell phone going into her car. Hmmm I thought to myself, how much free time she has since she cancelled my appointment with her. Regardless, why couldn't she say to me that she had time to wash and style but not cut my har or something like that. Anyways, I drove off and waved to her. She saw me leave twice. Never again! Below is the email I sent to Ulta and per attached photo, is the reply I received thus far from Ulta's guest services Hello Im writing because i called to make an appointment with maggie over a month ago in the renton location for 4/14/2023 @3:30pm This was my second time for an appt with Maggie. I told them i wanted a hair trim, wash, & straightened On 4/13/2023 @ 5:27pm i answered the reminder call. During this call the receptionist told me about the appointment, yet she failed to tell me to not to be late. Because of a 15 min rule that they would need to reschedule This is the second time i spoke to someone via phone regarding this appt and no one told me about a 15 min rule On the day of my appointment 25 min prior to 3:30 i called the salon telling them ill be about 15 min late. The receptionist again did not tell me about the rule of not being 15 min late. I arrived to my appointment with one min to spare, still not knowing about the rule/policy. The receptionist walked away after i checked in. Im waiting 3-5 min and she comes back telling me i was 15 min late and they had to reschedule. Im like "what' i just spoke to someone and no one told me about this rule" the receptionist said she called me back after i called letting me know. Im looking at my call log, that call was 10 min ago, While i was driving Maggie explained the policy to me, which is fine. Yet like i told Maggie... i wasnt aware of the policy. The receptionist said she left me a message reminding me of my appointment and said it via voicemail. Which was a lie, i spoke to someone (per attachment) it wasn't a missed call, i answered the phone. I dont know if the receptionist is new or just doesnt care about communication & customer service. Today is Friday & the soonest i was able to get seen isn't until next Thursday. Great news on a Friday afternoon & amazing service.

    I followed my favorite hair stylist Melinda from Ulta Factoria store to this store when she moved. I am not sure why this store is receiving low rating, but my experiences with the salon and the store have been great. Salon: I really like Melinda as she is willing to spend time understanding my hair texture and my desires. After trying so many different hair stylists, she's the only one who knows what kind of hair color I like. I won't go to other salons for hair coloring as other stylists only use the colors they like without considering my preferences. I also love the style she creates for me. After showing her some photos that I like, she knows what I want and could create something close to those photos while fitting me. Let's be honest and real about this. While I dream to be like some beauties in the photos, I am not those beauties, so it's fundamentally impossible to look like those beauties exactly. What I want is to have that kind of atmosphere and a style along to the line, but most stylists don't get that. Melinda does. Melinda also gave me many good tips to help me take care of my hair at home. The salon area is always clean. The staff clean the hair on the floor as soon as one haircut is done. Every time I walk out of the salon with a smile as I am satisfied. Store: The store is always clean and well organized. The staff is friendly. When I am checking out something, someone would always come to offer me help. It's not a super busy store when I was there, so I never had any issue to get help. I am always happy to shop here, and would like to recommend this tore to anyone who would like to try the salon.

    I went to Ulta today to get my hair dyed for the 1st time in my life.$289 bucks gone on a hair color I do not like. I frequent this Ulta a lot for make up and get a blowout/flat iron maybe once a month. That's normally great, no problem with that. I wanted to do a grey ombre/balayage. I have for a long time now. Now there was a few pieces I had tested about a month ago to see if it would take. But that could have been corrected with a color closely related to my own natural color. I showed Nicole the style and color I wanted and we talked about it and were on the same page. When I saw the lightening process take, I was very happy Now I will say, it actually came out cute. But it is not how I wanted it at all. I'm really disappointed. I did tell Nicole I liked it, but to be honest it's not what I wanted...at all. Fyi. Everyone in the store is really kind and sweet, but make sure you know what you're getting.

    I would be a little weary of going here for brow waxing plucking. I've gone to a different ulta (factoria) to get my brows done and LOVED the results and really enjoyed the process. But the lady that usually did them moved away. I was expecting the same sort of result & explained what I wanted. But, something was just off about my appt. It felt rushed. It took less then maybe 10 minutes which idk if that's normal but thats not what I'm use too. I didn't get the cleanest shaping/trim either. One brow I can tell she over trimmed. I have a picture of how it almost looks like there's a slit in my brow. I can fix it with brow coloring but still. I didn't notice it right a way until I got home and was styling them. So disappointed!! I just don't think I'm going to go back for that service. Save your money and go to someone you trust or get a referral! Or maybe try the factoria ulta! They have better service in that department.

In the six times I've…read moreordered ibe prior with other IBE specialists, not once did we have to color match by dyeing the pieces. I mentioned this multiple times. After spending two hours extra in the chair sitting twiddling my thumbs, and paying for multiple colorings just to match, three additional hours later I had two wefts installed and a cut Only to find they completely forgot to color and install a whole other weft. I left with the promise we would work together on the coloring and install of the forgotten weft at the time of move up. One week after install, ALL wefts had managed to come unsewn at the initial stitching plain as day when looking at me straight on. After a few weeks due to my work schedule, I called to book an appointment and was declined stating Lexi was unsure that I would be a good fit as their client. I believe this to be due to the fact that myself and three of her stylists all agreed the platinum blonde was not the correct choice. You were called out and then asked to be accountable and yet you've managed to not step up once. way to go Lexi, no wonder you're left having to hire more stylists.

They have an awesome staff and street parking. They do give you parking passes if you have a service (such as coloring) that takes longer than the street allotted time of 2 hrs. The Salon location used to actually be a block down the street and it was large and roomy, I believe a bar now took over the location so now this place is near Chop House Hair Salon and Red Apple. This location is currently closed to COVID, but their Renton location is suppppper nice and BOOMING! I actually love it at the Renton location because it is much closer to home for me and super convenient. I always see Teresa for my hair needs. Like I said previously, I have been seeing her at the Beacon Hill / Seattle location since I was little. She styled my hair for all my middle and high school dances. Gave me my first haircut, perm, highlights, Balayage and the list goes on. Typically, I always need to refresh my balayage and come in for a split end trim. I always get my hair layered bc its super thick and heavy. Teresa always knows exactly what to do. If I'm going for something different than my usual, I bring in pictures and that is all she needs! They got snacks, free coffee, tea and other beverages. They got a great selection Oribe & other hair care Products! Love love love it here! This woman has been doing my lashes for a while and they are the fluffiest, most long lasting sets I've gotten. Trust me when I tell you, this retention is ! She's very accommodating as I started to get allergic reactions to the glue she was using, she had other glue types which were hypoallergenic or just better for sensitive peepz. Not only does she do lashes but she also does hair! I've attached some photos of her work on my hair! Pricing is competitive but also depends on the service you are getting. I have so much hair and she got through it without a problem... the fluffy volume lash fills are also at a fair price! The salon is completely new so you will feel completely comfortable and refreshing during your appointment. Not sure if this will change but during my appointments, the salon did not have a receptionist so you contact your artist once you have arrived for your appointment and they will bring you back to their station(s).
