I go here every three weeks to get my brows done and more often than not I end up buying something. They have everything from perfume, hair care and hair appliances, bath and body stuff and makeup. I generally prefer ULTA to Sephora for a number of reasons including a better points program and the fact that they also have drug store brands as well as high end brands in one place. I can get my Peter Roth Thomas and my Oil of Olay in one place, which is nice. It's also within walking distance of my house. From a service perspective, though, I actually prefer Sephora and that is why I can't give this five stars. The staff here is friendly, and they know where everything is, but they are just not as helpful/knowledgeable at giving suggestions as some of the sales associates at Sephora. This place is organized, clean and has everything you could really want for day to day makeup and hair. If you are looking for an experience though (makeover, good beauty tips), I would make the trip to Sephora instead. read more

This is in regard to the salon. The salon manager and a stylist, Betty, were extremely unprofessional. I had called during the midday to book an appointment (bang trim) for 7pm. I showed up at 6:57 and was told "I was early" to the appointment. So I sat down. I waited patiently until 7:10. No one had apologized or let me know how long the wait would be. As I was about to get up and leave, 7:20, the salon manager, Christine, and stylist, Betty, walked towards the sink area to gossip and laugh about me, as I was growing impatient. Betty then came and introduced herself, 20 minutes AFTER my designated appointment, laughing. Not sure what was funny. Once I got my bang trim by the salon manager (waited 20 minutes for a 5 minute job), I was expecting at least blow drying the bangs straight/straightening the front bangs (I have wavy hair). Nope- nothing. FYI- I have been to this location and plenty ultas in the suburbs and city- never experienced this. These two staff members were exhausting and extremely rude. read more

Came in to exchange some products with my aunt. I had my receipt and items ready to go. And right away was given an attitude by an associate named Heather. I let it slide (maybe she's having a shitty day and line was long and she was by herself). But shortly after she snatched receipt she was having hard time with the stapler and she threw it to the side with frustration. Anger issues much? At that point we asked her if there's a problem and what's with her attitude? She completely denied that there was a problem and changed her attitude. We were going to ask for a manager but we were just over it and wanted to get the hell out of there. After we left I later realized she didn't exchange. She returned my products first instead. I wanted to exchange so I wouldn't lose the promotion but got screwed over instead. Looking at other reviews here it's no surprise they have shitty reviews. If possible avoid coming here and go to another location. This was my first time at this location will definitely be avoiding this Ulta from now on. read more

I wish I could give it no stars... Ulta just needs to throw this Ulta away and start fresh. Whoever orders stock needs a lesson in management, the shelves are always empty, the workers try to be helpful, but always have bad dispositions. Online they claim to carry brands in store that they don't have. Please do better! read more

Do not come here to get your hair dyed. I came in for a bayalage, spent 170.00, and came out with half brown, and half yellow hair. Absolutely awful. The manager, who cut my hair, didn't say a word to me the entire FOUR hours I was there, and he was working on another client while I was still there. Worst experience of my life. read more

me and my friends just walked into the store and started putting on makeup, like you do in ulta and a worker walks up to us and kicks us out. she seemed to struggle with even having a reason to kick us out she was stuttering and barely able to form full sentences as to why we had to leave. she didn't just tell us to stop she kicked out all 5 of us. this was extremely annoying as we had done nothing wrong so no we're not shopping at ulta anymore, but it's not like we were invited in the first place. read more

I went here to inquire about hair services and as I walked to the hair salon there were 3 stylist and all three of them just looked at me. They were with clients so I waited 2-min, then 3 then 5 not one time did any of them if I needed help, of if I had an appointment nothing they just stared at me and pretended I wasn't there. How UNPROFFESIONAL. I totally understand your with clients but you could have acknowledge I was there and at least we'll be with you in a moment. No, they just ignored me like I had no money or something. I felt totally offended. and BTW yes I do have money for your services, I'm a platnium member and I'm also a ulta credit card holder. I've given this place so many chances but each time I go here the staff is so unhelpful and rude. No one ever offers to help me find what I'm looking for and I see them taking to each other. I was checking out makeup and one staff member said "I wasn't swatching right" and then walked away.. umm then help me! where is the customer service at this place?????? Today I went over to check out started talking to the cashier and she looked at me and walked away while she was checking out my items .... it was soo rude that's the last straw for me. I now go to the ulta all the way in Arlington Heights. The staff is the nicest soo helpful. Spent over $500 on skin products over there plus another $200 on makeup .. yea I clearly have a problem but it was so worth it. Anyway this ulta lost a huge sale and my family's business. Oh And I have tried contacting the managers or store owner but it was nearly impossible. No one got back to me. read more

I am a person who has no idea what I'm doing when it comes to makeup. I went in earlier this week expecting to get another product that might go ok, might not. I thought it was a guess and check process considering product reviews online are iffy. I started to walk around the store, looking absolutely clueless when a sales associate approached me. I told her my problem and she immediately helped me right away. She took me through at least a dozen products to see which one suited me and answered all of my questions concerning makeup. I finally found a product that suited my needs and works amazingly. I feel that this ultra service goes above and beyond, and truly fits to whatever your need may be. I got an eyebrow wax, never have I gotten waxed above the eyebrow due to it being a sensitive area. She waxed above and no I have a really embarrassing acne like rash above my eyebrows. This Ulta is absolutely horrible. I've been going here ever since it opened, and pretty frequently may I add. This Ulta has changed so much since it first opened. They used to have an amazing, kind manager who was always so help and welcoming, and pretty decent employees. This has dramatically changed over the past year. The new manager ( or I'm assuming manager) knows nothing about any of the products, and is completely unprofessional. 90% of the time the employees just greet you to make sure they can keep an eye on you and you aren't stealing, and they could care less about actually helping you. Ive gotten my brows done here once, and only once due to the fact I asked her to stop because my skin was so red. We didn't even finish one brow, and my skin has never reacted like that when I had gotten my brows waxed before that. Displays and testers are always missing, the management is awful and never know anything about any of the products, and the store is overall lacking product volume. I'd once gone in looking for a specific highlighter 4 times over the course of a month and it still had not been restocked. Super unprofessional, and basically get mad at you if you leave without purchasing anything. read more
