    This Ulta has one of the larger selections of inventory. It is large and clean. The products are generally higher in price than what you will find elsewhere but there are a few advantages to shopping at Ulta. If you don't like something for pretty much any reason, you can bring it back. There's no risk in investing in a product and you can find what really works. When shopping, the floor staff will ask you frequently if you're finding everything ok. Talk to them about what you're looking for: I always learn something new about which products will work for me. The salon was able to get me in before a job interview on short notice, which I really appreciated. I recommend calling to make an appointment the first time you go because they can help you figure out exactly how much time to book. I have been to two stylists: Lexis and Kayla. Both were excellent. I was able to be really specific with Lexis about what I wanted. She was very accommodating and my hair came out beautifully. Kayla is a genius when it comes to coloring ideas and has helped me figure out which products to use with my finicky hair in different seasons. They have restored my confidence in being able to rock different looks!

    Full disclosure: I received a complimentary lash lift service for being a Platinum Member because this was a new service at their salon. With that being said, I arrived to my appointment 5-10 minutes early and went straight to the salon to check in. There were two stylists that I could see with other clients, and I could tell they saw me too, but just ignored me. No "Hi, someone will be right with you," or "Hi, have a seat and we'll get you checked in." Finally, about 5 minutes later, someone came and checked me in. I waited another 15 minutes (past the start of my appointment time) until my eyelash technician came out to greet me. I had to wait another 5 of so minutes for her to clean up from her last client and get all set up for me. Now, I'm already impatient and a little irked because I've had a bad experience at this salon years ago. Finally, 20 minutes past the start time of my appointment, I get called back. The salon at Ulta is pretty open, but I assumed since I was getting my lashes done that I'd be brought back to a more private area because you have to be reclined with your eyes closed the whole time (a little more vulnerable position than just getting your hair done,) but noooooope- I was wrong. I was brought over to a station on the side, but still very open that shoppers were probably less than 10 feet away from me, the only thing in between me and them was the counter that the technician had laid out supplies. I was in a regular salon chair that reclined about 45 degrees, and then they pulled another salon chair across from me so I could put my feet up. Not what I was expecting, and pretty janky, if you ask me. Anyways, the technician briefly just told me that the only aftercare was that I couldn't get my lashes wet for 48 hours to let them set, and then we got started. She didn't tell me what the process was or how long it would take, these were all questions that I had to ask her. She answered them pretty straight-forwardly, but did not really elaborate. She seemed very nonchalant about the whole thing which made me feel pretty uncomfortable since this was the first time I've ever had anything done to my lashes. Luckily, I did some research beforehand, so I knew what questions I had. She also told me she had been doing lashes for about 2 years, and that this service was only new to Ulta salons, so I was hopeful that she knew what she was doing. The whole time I was in the chair with my eyes closed, I could hear the other stylists and employees in the salon area just gossiping and chatting in a very unprofessional manner. They didn't seem to care that there were customers on the floor and didn't care if they were overheard gossiping. At one point, a customer ask my technician where a certain product was (mind you, because I was practically ON.THE.SALES.FLOOR) and she just pointed the customer in the general direction of where she thought it was. After the customer walked away, she made a rude comment about the customer to another employee, while she was working on my lashes! WOW, the unprofessionalism! Upon opening my eyes to check out my new lifted lashes, I was HIGHLY disappointed. Although you can tell a slight difference in a profile picture, you can't tell that I even had anything done to my lashes front on. She gave me glaze after the lift which is essentially a black coat to make it look like you have mascara on for the 48 hours you're not allow to get your lashes wet, but it was ALL over my eyelid and she did a pretty sloppy job trying to clean it up. Again this was a free service, but I still would expect them to do a good job, if 1.) They offered this so technicians can get more practice 2.) You want your customers leaving happy, returning for the service in the future, and recommending it to family/friends I definitely will not be returning to the salon for any type of service. I hope others who received lash lifts has better results than I did, because it would be a shame to offer a service that didn't produce the expected result. Finally, they need to figure out another set up to do these that don't leave clients out in the open or sitting in an uncomfortable reclined chair.

I called about a product they didn't have in store - she ordered it for me with the next shipment and said she would calll me when it arrived ( but when people say that these days they don't really follow through) so I called seeing if the order had been made and she said yes and that she would call me when it arrived and sure enough she actually did! *tear* I couldn't believe it. Nails will be happy with a full collection of OPI and Creative Nail Design nail lacquers. They sell Hempz bath and body care - the hand lotion is some of the best lotion I've ever used! Super hydrating and necessary in a Minnesota winter. Paul Mitchell's Lavender Mint and Lemon Sage shampoos and conditioners are a wonderful choice to cleanse and moisturize your hair and infuse it with intoxicating botanicals. It does the whole body good! They do not sell Moroccan Oil, Alterna, Pureology or Redken products but there are other places in the area where you can buy it. If you're a Cosmetology student or already a licensed pro you can get a member card by showing your student ID or State License and start buying products for yourself and/or your salon - at wholesale prices.
