Unreliable bookings in salon. Tried twice to schedule a formal make up application with Melissa. Was hoping to book 2 practice sessions with her and then have her do my make up on the day of my son's wedding next month. She called out sick for our first booking so I rescheduled for a week later. Second time she called out sick again. No way would I book her for something important after she left me hanging twice, Now I have lost two weeks before the wedding when I could have booked with someone else. I just went into Ulta and had the most bizarre experience. I was by the fragrances and was asked 2x if I needed help. Politely said no. Then a woman walked up to me asking me again if I needed help, the answer was no. She proceeded to grab my hand and applied a Stila product on without asking. It was covered in glitter so then my jacket and hand are now dirty and full of glitter. 2 minutes later she walked up to me and said how are you dear, still looking? Yes it's been 2 minutes and I am clearly looking at the products on the display. This is all under 8 minutes of being in the store. Unfortunately this is exactly why I've taken my business to Sephora! Great to ask if customers need help but the repeated asking, following around the store and applying product without asking is an unpleasant shopping experience. read more

I had a really disappointing experience at Ulta yesterday (5/13) due to an interaction with CODY, who I was told is the GM.... Even more disappointing. Instead of handling a perfectly normal transaction he chose to comment on my tone and label me as rude in front of a long line of people with which was unexpected bc I did nothing to provoke this behavior and was extremely inappropriate. As a manager, especially Gm, I would expect someone in that position to de-escalate situations and focus on satisfying the customer rather than making personal judgments and instigating. Instead I was belittled and humiliated and was yelled at that I am "rude" again in front of a line. That was extremely unprofessional and made me feel very uncomfortable in a place I've been to many times before (I've been shopping here for over 13 years) I'm a diamond member. I can't believe I had no one to turn to in that store for actual help from that situation. A person with that kind of behavior and attitude should not be in the position they are in, it's very concerning. Again even if there was frustration, the way this was handled made me feel unheard, uncomfortable and unwelcome. Customer service should involve listening, professionalism, and finding solutions-not adding to the tension. I always have a great experience here. I'm really surprised by all the negative reviews. Yes, the staff seems hyper aware of shoplifters (coming down the main aisle I was greeted several times on my way to check out), but people need to understand that thieves are running out with thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise. I was paying, so it didn't bother me. The staff was all very helpful. My daughter had a kids haircut scheduled, but unfortunately the online scheduling tool was having problems and it never officially took. Cherise overheard our scheduling issue and was kind enough to step up and squeeze us in. She took her time with my daughter, washing her hair, cutting it correctly, and styling it. She was personable and included my 7-year-old in the conversation. This is the second stylist we've had ( also Morgan) that has done an exceptional job with my daughter. We always have such a nice girls day here that we end up buying fun, unnecessary products like styling crème, or in this case Kopari body butter (because it smells soooo good and the rep was top notch). read more

Went to the salon for an all over color and Jenna was amazing. She was so sweet and super confident in what she was doing. She taught me a lot about my own hair. I loved that she was a perfectionist as well. At first the color didn't cover my old highlights so she was very patient and took her time and made sure everything was up to par. Basically, the salon in Ulta ruined my wedding by simply not listening to me. I showed photos of myself made up in a natural style. The stylist did my makeup in a Goth style, including heavy eye makeup, no cheek color and BLACK lipliner. I also found out that the lip color she used were the TESTERS from the display. She used the applicators that other people had used to sample the product. This is unsanitary and disgusting. Everything took so long that I was almost late for my own wedding. They made me get out of the chair to buy false eyelashes, and said they couldn't add them to my bill. I had to stand in line and pay for them at the register! I had to ask at least twice for her to look at my eyebrows because they were uneven. I had to ask twice for color on my cheeks. She said my hair was done when there were multiple strands she had promised to curl undone. If you want to look nice for a special occasion, don't waste your money on Ulta's salon. read more

I love Ulta! I buy all of my beauty needs from this company. However, this location greatly lacks customer service. I placed an online order to be picked up in the store. While there, I noticed that no one answered the phone, the line was extremely long with only one lady checking out the customers (extremely rude I might add though perhaps frustrated) while 2 others ignored the line and continued talking. When I picked up my order, the order was missing a product. I was given nothing but attitude as the woman was puzzled by my order missing a product. Mind you, my bag was opened in front of her at the counter. She continued to go on a tangent about her not understanding why my order was incomplete as it's not possible. Obviously it is. Horrible customer service! One of the main reasons why I dislike coming to Ulta. My husband and I walked in tonight after finding out that all of the targets in the area were out of a product I was on the hunt for. When we walked in, two associates were by the front door reviewing schedules it looked like, one of them looked up at me - looked me dead in the eyes and rolled hers, and looked away. No greeting, just an eye roll. What a great way to start. We may not look like much, in our sweaters and active shorts, but we're still customers. We walked to where the product I was looking for, and were passed by a few other associates. Expected at this point, I honestly am used to this with the company no matter what location I go too. Luckily, I found what I needed and got out of there. When checking out, the cashier originally seemed very nice and directed us to where we would be checked out, but as soon as we walked up to the counter and started conversing it was like a flip switched. I am updating my five star review about the same manager I had left a good review for. Today was awful. I had been sold a bonus card for a "spend a $100 get $20 bonus" card which I bought 2 of so I should have gotten $40 bonus money. I was told I can use this on my next hair appointment. This card expired in no time I guess just valid from 12-26-21 to 1-29-22 I made my hair appointment for today 2-7-22 and I was told this bonus point never expires.Today, I could not use my bonus cards of $40 nor did that same manager (KIMBERLY) validate it even though I've spent about a grand at Ulta in the last 5 months. I had to contact the corporate and let them know about the awful customer service I experienced today and although I have to come back in 3 days to get my hair fixed I will not be back again. I left shaking and angry for being humiliated. After I explained that I was told I could use this on my next hair appointment which I made only 2 months later, the manager said oh you're the one who was going on vacation right? I said no. Clearly she does not remember me. The reason why I am upset is A. The customer service of this manager was terrible. She made me feel like I was a liar, which I am not. Gave me unnecessary attitude which she had no place to give and made it personal. I should not get dirty looks from a manager. I told her I would not come back and I will be leaving a review and she said I can see you are a valued customer yet she still didn't honor the bonus point card even though she gave me the wrong information about it when she sold it to me. Great products on hand (brand name and less expensive versions), and the store is large and well laid out. The only problem is sometimes it is a bit difficult to find someone to help you, but if you walk around the enough you are bound to find someone who is knowledgeable and who can steer you in the right direction.
