Love my local Ulta!! Super friendly and helpful-staff. They carry a great assortment of high end as well and affordable beauty brands which is great. Having worked for the high end brands in my career you understand the value of good quality brand like E.L.F. for matte blush spending $8 vs. $45 plus, it's a no brainer to spend less on certain beauty items and then more on face creams that you love. I had a great interaction with a sweet girl on Thursday 4/29/26 at 10:50am, did not catch her name but we engaged in a conversation about the blush I bought and how we liked the brand. I visited this Ulta today and was extremely disappointed by one employee's customer service. My sister had gifted me a few items that she purchased during the employee sale, and I came in hoping to do an even exchange. Karen was amazing and genuinely tried to help, but unfortunately the system would not allow the exchange because of how the items were originally purchased. I completely understood that, and I know rules are rules. I was perfectly fine with that outcome. The reason this experience became so disappointing was because one of the lead cashiers, who I believe was named Molly (I apologize if I have the wrong name), was incredibly rude and spoke to me in a condescending manner. The moment it was explained that the items couldn't be exchanged because they were purchased with an employee discount, I was ready to take my items and leave. I understood the policy and wasn't arguing or asking for an exception. Instead, Molly continued explaining the policy over and over in a way that made me feel like I wasn't understanding what had already been explained. I wasn't being difficult--I simply accepted the answer. There was no reason to continue talking down to me or make me feel embarrassed. A few minutes later, I decided to go back into the store because I still wanted the products. Since the exchange wasn't possible, I was just going to purchase the items myself. At that point, Molly explained that I couldn't purchase the items using my sister's employee discount because she wasn't there. That was confusing and honestly frustrating because I had never asked to use my sister's employee discount. I completely understood that the discount was only valid for the employee. I was simply trying to purchase the items at the regular price. That interaction made me feel like she assumed I didn't understand something that had already been explained. I respected the store's policy from the beginning, accepted that the exchange wasn't possible, and was simply trying to purchase the products like any other customer. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed and disrespected. I do want to recognize Karen because she was kind, patient, and genuinely tried to help me. She handled the situation professionally and with empathy. Unfortunately, Molly's attitude completely overshadowed what could have been a positive experience. I understand that every store has policies, and I never expected anyone to break them for me. My issue has never been with the policy--it was with the way I was treated. Customers deserve to be spoken to with respect, even when the answer is no. read more

I have had two great experiences at Ulta this week which include Clint today and Gabby at the Benefit brow bar. Both experiences were extremely positive due to the customer engagement and taking the time to listen and help me find new products to meet my needs. Clint introduced me to a new skincare line that will be my "go to" in the future. I have used Perricone MD for several years and have looked at the Stravictin line in the past ,but found it complicated as I couldn't find assistance with the line. Today Clint recommended it and tried the products while coming up with a simple skincare regiment. I recently purchased my Perricone, but will Stravictin will soon replace my current skincare. I came in looking for a foundation, but his expertise in asking the right questions and was right that the correct skincare is the best foundation! In the past I have tried to have someone help me with my brows, but told to make an appointment even when the associate wasn't busy. This week was a blessing because Gabby ( I hope the name is correct) dropped everything to help trim my brows and assist me with the correct brow product. I would have selected the wrong product if she hadn't cared and helped me. Amazing as they were both professional, kind, and didn't try to oversell me. I was impressed! This ulta location is probably my favorite that I've ever been to. Not only do they have a vast selection of prestige beauty products, as well as drugstore section. But the size of the store seems a lot bigger compared to a different of Ulta's that I've been to. There's always a cheerful employee there. I believe he is the store manager from how well he dresses every time I see him. Honestly, I prefer shopping at this Ulta because other Ulta's tend to feel negative from the staff. After a previous problem, Southlake Salon Manager Jamarys was amazing. She arranged for me to be seen by Elite Stylist Brandon G. Brandon redid the color, aptly covering the roots and making the resulting color to a lovely blonde. He was able to clean up the haircut a bit. With further follow-up with manager Jamarys, a second session was held with Brandon. The color is now fabulous and he was able to texturize bangs and shape the hair into an "almost long enough" bob. So disappointed in this location. I placed an order for pick up in the morning hours and tried calling at almost 2pm. No answer. I called twice and let the phone ring and ring until it hung up on me from ringing for so long. I needed to speak to someone about my order because I was going to be in the area (this Ulta is 20-30 mins away from me) and I wanted to see if they can process my order sooner so it's ready when I arrive to the area and I can just pick it up while I'm out. I couldn't ever get anyone on the phone to ask. One: the order really should have been ready by now considering it was placed in the late morning time and it's already 2pm. They had every product or brand I was looking for, they had many options of everything, I could get very natural looking mascara, or very bold and black mascara. The brands were great. My personal favorite perfume that I got was the Daisy one. And I loved getting touch land with my mother. We explored the shop finding new brands and products around every corner. Hannah is amazing! When my curling iron broke, I decided to walk to the nearest Ulta and buy a new one. It was a 1.6 mile walk in 100 degree weather and by the time I got to Ulta, I was a mess. Hannah immediately greeted me as soon as I walked into the door. She also rushed over to help me. Apparently, I was so sweaty from the walk that she mistook the sweat for tears! LOL!!! It was 15 minutes before close and I apologized for coming is so late. She told me not to feel rushed and assured me I had plenty of time to shop. She then walked me to the curling iron section and proceeded to ask me questions about my preferences to help me find the best one. She then told me I was welcomed to shop for other items if needed and asked if I needed help with anything else. I told her I was in a rush to get to the next store to buy a belt (which had also broken during my travels) so she carried my curling iron to the register and immediately rang me up so that I can make it to the next store. I had to leave. Im not sure who she was but there was a sales associate who was greeting all costumers coming in. I was not one she said hello to, of course i noticed this immediately but i brushed it off as she could have been busy. I start browsing as im not looking for anything in particular, i just want to spend money honestly. I keep seeing her relatively close to me or if i dont see her i hear her obnoxious boots. Whatever i keep doing what im doing because i know im no thief. Then i move to a different side of thw store and more associates are getting pretty close to me. Even still i brush it off. Finally im getting upset because they are literally locking eyes with me and they never once asked me if i needed help of any kind. I call my husband to come inside and join me because finally ive had enough and he notices the associates attitudes at this point and my husband is not one to pick up on things like this. I kindly put all of my items back and leave. Look, i am not one to immediately say "racism" or "i was racially profiled" but i absolutely was. I am very visibly the only poc/ hispanic in this entire store. Now mind you, i work a government job in a surrounding city. Bad customer service. I KNOW NOTHING about makeup and none of the employees cared to ask if they could help me with anything. When I went up to ask about a product the girl simply pointed (she was not busy). I asked two more questions about another product and I got one word answers and pointing towards the direction I needed to go. I had just come from Sephora looking for a specific product and he went above and beyond to help me find something similar, he took me all over the store to help me and give me his advice because again I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MAKEUP. What a nightmare. She doesn't listen at all. And, despite the things she will tell you she absolutely cannot cut a pixie at ALL. I have had and maintained a pixie cut for years. This is going to be a review of the salon. I will say this I hope for the rest of my life. I will only, and I mean only, go to Katherine to do my hair. I have long hair with an ombre. As you can probably assume, an ombre is extremely difficult to do unless someone is highly experienced, and that she is. I walk in, tell her I want an ombre, and she does the rest. She has changed it up so that I don't get bored of it and I always walk out happy. I usually leave maybe a $40 tip but I will bump it higher sometimes just because. She's INCREDIBLE but also extremely hard to get an appointment with so I call HER instead just to make sure. As for the salon overall, it's a very nice atmosphere. The receptionists are wonderful, (astonishingly better than the ones in the Irving location) and are easy to book appointments with and are always helpful. Keep up the good work! read more

I would give 0 starts if I could. I walked in when they opened this morning to purchase a round brush/hairdryer that was on special for their May gorgeous hair event. I asked the manager where I could find them and she promptly told me they were all sold out. REALLY? I was the first person in the store. So the store advertised a product for sale and had zero of that item in stock. They wouldn't offer a rain check and said they were all sold out online as well. Seems like false advertising to me. I think I'll take my business elsewhere where they actually honor their ads! WORST ULTA EVER!!!! Be prepared to wait at least 10+ minutes in the checkout line. I politely asked if they could open up another line... "it's just us two honey". I saw 5 employees walking around, handing out shopping bags, yet they couldn't add one person to the register. I live in Dallas and typically go to the Ulta off Park Ln, I've NEVER once had an issue at that location. There is clearly an issue with management at the Southlake location. AVOID IT AT ALL COST! After waiting 15 minutes in the checkout line, I gave up and placed my bag on the checkout counter. I told the two employees it was absolutely ridiculous that anyone wait 15 minutes to check out and walked out. Never again! Just placed an order on Amazon for everything I needed. read more

It's been over three years and my mom and I still go to her, as well as my dad! Not only is she phenomenal in hair, she's also amazing at makeup!! I've visited two different times this month, two weeks apart, to be told both times that "they are always out of this one because it's their most popular color" and "a new shipment was coming on Friday." I've had a very frustrating experience with my local Ulta hair salon in Southlake, Texas. I consulted with a stylist Thursday afternoon, and showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted and how I had my hair colored in the past. I wanted my roots touched up to be blonde, to match the rest of my hair, like my retired stylist had always done in the past without an issue. The stylist at Ulta told me she could do that, end of story. Halfway through the treatment the stylist noticed my hair was a more yellow color instead of the blonde I asked for. So she put toner on my entire head. Once the appointment was over I left with the darkest my hair has been in over 4 years. Even the blonde I came in with was gone, and my entire head was a mousey, orangish, brownish color. The stylist knew I was not happy with the color and said "next time we can go blonder then," instead of trying to fix the problem then and there. I went home and tried to like the look and color but I just couldn't. So I went back the next day (today). The stylist stripped the toner from my hair and the bottom half of my hair returned to a blonder color like the look I had when I had come for my appointment the day before. The highlights she put in on the top however, did not match the rest of my hair at all and were still brownish and orange color, and certainly not blonde like I had asked. I spoke to the salon manager and was very nice about the issues we were having, and instead of trying to ease the situation or help find a solution, the MANAGER was very abrasive and kept interrupting me and stuck her finger up at me as she spoke. She indicated that I didn't want to pay for extra highlights, but that was not the case, and she said "I know money was an issue for you". She insinuated I didn't have the means to pay for extra treatment, when all I wanted was the original treatment corrected. I have consulted with 6 other stylists in the past 24 hours and they all told me, the issue was the stylist did not leave the product in long enough, it's not that I needed more highlights or full coverage like the manager claimed and said I needed to pay more money. I have had my hair colored by professionals for 20 years and I have NEVER run into a problem with color (or attitude) like I did at Ulta. The worst part of this experience was how the manager was so rude and had zero costumer service skills. The stylist, who did not follow my directions but was still at least nice and trying to be somewhat accommodating after I came back for a second time, booked me for a THIRD appointment tomorrow to "add a few more highlights". I don't want MORE highlights of the wrong color; I need the color corrected on the current highlights that were done incorrectly. I have no idea if they were planning to charge for me for this third visit, but after the way I was treated by the salon manager in Southlake today, I have zero desire to spend any more time or money at Ulta. I spent $140 at this salon (the most I have ever spent on hair services) and my hair looks the absolute worst it ever has, filled with every tone but the one I asked for, blonde. I was a manager, I know how it can be difficult to deal with customers but in my experience as a manager, I know it is the manager's job to *diffuse* the situation and make the customer happy, instead of rudely arguing with the customer and refusing to suggest a solution. I have honestly never been treated so poorly by a manager in my life. Through this whole experience neither the manager or the stylist ever apologized. From the lack of care, attention to detail, poor communication, and terrible attitude from the salon manager of the Southlake store, Ulta has absolutely lost my business. I'm out $140 from the poor services at this salon and now I have to go spend more time and money somewhere else to get my hair fixed. read more

I went in for two items from the benefit counter and they were out of both items. There wasn't even an offer to check the inventory or anything. Then she suggests I just get the nyx version and I ask if she thinks there would be a different in quality and she laughed! Then said "no I don't" The I go to check out and the line was so long, with only two cashiers. This seems to be a problem at all ulta locations. Pros: They stock lots of brands and usually have what I need. The store is now kept clean - it used to be pretty nasty looking. Cons: They argue with you when you check out if you don't want their "Ulta card." You know, it doesn't make any difference why I don't want one. if I say "no" it means "no", it doesn't mean I want to keep talking about it and have the store employee try to force me to get one. Honestly I usually buy things from Amazon Prime because of this. Today I needed things Amazon didn't have available immediately so I went into the store. I will never purchase from them again because you cannot do business with them without being harassed. read more

Visited here once with my grandmother last week. The cashier was nice at checkout like usual, but the store was messy, and it seemed as if the shelves were only half stocked. The Southlake housewives have ultra-high standards... so it was a bit surprising that they would appear anything below meticulous. I'm just sayin'... My grandmother also lost her debit card in the store, (I know, trust me, I have no idea how on earth she managed to do this) but they didn't care the slightest. Bring your wallet! This is a great place, but unfortunately you pay for it as it's very expensive for almost everything, even with the Ulta card, sales and coupons you still end up paying. Hair color is $100+ dollars average, Root touch up is $53.00 for an inexperienced person, $63.00 and up for a more experienced person. If your looking for a bargain on cosmetics, hair shampoo etc, look elsewhere this isn't the place. I have been going to Simaria to get my hair colored for close to a year now. She completely saved my hair! I came in with a horrible color job done by a high end salon... and simaria took me from horrible streaks to beautiful blonde highlights just in time for my wedding.
