Checked online an hour before I got off work to see what beauty supply store would be open when I got off. The times said it closed at 9pm. When I got there at 6:52pm they wouldn't let me in. They changed store hours to close at 7 now but haven't updated them online and all I needed was shampoo but the security said that the manager told him nobody else could come in. I am extremely disappointed. My husband and I went in with our 7 month old excited to use our new charge card and it was absolutely appalling in there. We never made it to the cashiers so I can't speak on their behalf but the lack of product availability was the first thing we noticed and when we were looking for help there was not one associate working the floor ! As a former ulta employee(different location) i was extremely unsettled and upset. Ulta is supposed to be 100% customer service oriented and the location I had worked out never looked so ransacked. This location is unacceptable. When we finally located an associate working the Sephora counter with red hair she was extremely unhelpful and insisted we see the cashiers and wait in line just to get access to some fragrances. I'm aware of ultas radio communication so this was also upsetting. Needless to say we are currently arriving at a more sufficient location with WAY better customer service. read more

I came in looking for a new palette and each of the three I liked and wanted were out of stock. Popular, expensive, major brand, should-always-be-in-stock palettes. I finally found someone Raven who knows my hair and does a beautiful job of coloring that looks so natural. My hair is very thick and a little natural curl. I LOVE LOVE LOVE makeup! It takes a lot to annoy me at a makeup store. The employees were either nonchalant or downright rude. I even heard two talking about a customer.. Customer service is terrible I was in the store not to long ago a group of employees including the manager (a gentleman I've seen him in the store before )standing around TALKING VERY LOUD with another employees, one was apparently off but had come in to the store to purchase makeup (that's what she kept saying) WALKED BY THEM HAD TO SAY EXCUSE ME TO GET BY (DID NOT ASK if I needed help finding anything) in fact no acknowledgment all I might as well have been invisible. Its very sad when the management conduct thier self in that matter what can you expect from the employees. I come here often, and each time I am impressed by the level of customer service. The staff seems genuinely interested in helping me find what I need. I had to do my first Ulta return for something I didn't care for and they helped me find something that would work for me without making me feel like a burden. Today I was helped by a woman with blonde hair, I think her name started with a D (I tried to look at her name tag but I didn't have my glasses on) and as pesky I was with a ton of questions about sales and discounts, she was super helpful. Update- the manager Tracey called me to apologize sincerely about what had happened and to make amends for the situation. I found out Leslie is new out of school so that makes sense. She was very sweet just don't as confident in herself as I would like. They are going to make sure she gets more training. The manager said that the "salon managers" actions however were inexcusable and she will take care of it as soon as possible. They were very sweet and apologetic about the situation. Used to love this company. Have a Ulta credit card. I earn points. I received a email stating that I had 695 points to expire at the end of the year. So I made a purchase using 732 points to cover. They took out both sets of points. I call them. Dawn informs me that I also had another 750 points expiring. I explained that I never received any notifications for that. I was basically told too bad you weren't on top of it. They refuse to do anything to help. Granted it was only $30. I wonder how many thousands of customers they do this to? I am done with Ulta. I will redeem my points and never return. Or use their credit card. Rip offs! I have been a member for 10 years too! read more

I was so excited to see a new Ulta opening. But this has to be one of the worse as far as customer service. I never get greeted and hardly assisted. Multiple times I went ,the women are to busy gossiping to acknowledge you. Once a employee at the register forgot to put my items in the bag because she was so busy talking about store gossip . Never did she once even smile. So you know how you go to your car then want to examine your goodies and maybe slip some of that new lip gloss you just purchased? Right so lo and behold they were so busy talking the same woman forgot my items. Af this point I'm like ok just go back and get it. I go back in and tell the manager none the less. And she has no smile and said" well I need to see your receipt" as if I was trying to steal at this point I'm pissed because I just spent almost 200$. So I hand over the re kept and she inspects every item as if she didn't remember me from 4 mins ago. I finally said" this wouldn't have happen if you were being more professionally focused on t Your job instead of gossiping " them she rushed to finish. My daughter and I spend hundreds of dollars at Ulta regularly. We shop every sale, days of beauty, etc. and always have large amounts of rewards cash available. Yes, much of our shopping has been done online due to covid, but we've also shopped in person at the Vallejo location. With the pandemic easing, we have stopped in more and despite being understanding that service would be hampered while stores recover from covid business and employee loss, we've had the worst, most insulting service we've experienced at any store. We didn't dress up, but we didn't look suspicious or derelict either. Store security, the young lady with long dark hair and glasses, followed us everywhere, while pretending to look at products in every aisle we browsed. She then followed us to the register and stood behind the cashier prompting her to ask for our ID. Imagine her surprise when we had enough rewards cash to pay for all of our purchases. We overlooked this to consult with one of the stylists about an expensive balayage service with deep conditioning and styling. The stylist was knowledgeable and regretted she couldn't book us until the end of the next month. We were impressed enough to wait and went ahead and booked the appointment. She took our number and promised to text us an appointment reminder. When we didn't hear from her, we called to reconfirm our appointment. Our phone number was in the system. My name was in the system. No appointment whatsoever was in the system. They could not offer any explanation, nor did they have another appointment available for another month to six weeks. There was no way I would ever trust them to reliably book another month out appointment. Their loss. We are appreciative of good service, often tipping more than 20%, and I would have been a regular salon client, in addition to an already skin care and cosmetics client. Now I am an online client only, and I'm looking for a reliable balayage specialist. Hard pass for purchases or service from the Vallejo location. Try online or any other location possible. read more

They were so helpful with everything I even got a credit card approval so that made my day even more awesome. I'm new to the area and needed to find someone I could trust to wax my eyebrows. I've been going to the same lady since college who "owned" my eyebrows. After reading all the yelp reviews and horror stories about the local salons, I read a positive review about Ashley here at Ulta. I made an appointment and was seen right away. Ashley is amazing. She's friendly, professional, and put me at ease. She definitely knows what she's doing and my eyebrows look great! Even though it's a little more than I normally pay for, it is well worth the money. Had Jennifer wash/cut/& style my hair and she was so pleased with the end result. She was beyond pleasant! I JUST blindingly pick her off of the online appointment (which was super easy). I really will be returning because the experience was not only relaxing (the shampoo & the extra conditioning) fun during the chair session. So happy there is a ULTA in town now. So now I have the cut I've been growing my hair for next will be taking new color!! Relax it's only color so the question isn't if but how bold do I have the nerves to follow threw. I finally asked for help in finding the correct colors of makeup, and the clinique girl was told by the 3 standing around to help me. Not a great experience. Very great customer service! I was greeted at the door and asked if I needed any help. I was rang up by Marquez and he was very helpful in answering my questIons in regards to some products and questions I had about my rewards account. The manager on duty was able to take time and help me with my rewards account issue which many other Ulta stores have not wanted to do. The store was very neat and organized. It seemed like they restock products as I was able to find everything I needed. I also loved how all the clearance items were visible as I have walked into some Ulta stores and clearance items would be all over the store or in a hidden corner. Prices are excellent for what I get. Cheaper than Amazon and salons. They have a great selection. I am not offered the freebies that come with some purchases since I am a man. I use the Ulta App so know the sales, perks, coupons, etc. Only 1 out of 4 at the cash registers will mention specials usually included for women. But as I walk through the store there are normally at least 2 employees that help me out to easily find want I need. I rate customer service 5 star except for cash registers looking out for me getting the most for my money. read more

Oh ok I went to get a haircut. I brought my phone with pictures and a video. I ended up looking as if I showed her a complete different pics ok. I have to say I stopped her and I asked it looks like you cutting too short and will that cover where I want it. I pull my phone out again and said look will that cover yes she said she has layers so I have to cut it this way you will see. Well ok I said but much later I said this looks too long over here yes but you will see ok I put my phone away again. 3 times I did this I looked like I was butchered and I have no idea what to do. I feel sorry for this young woman but she needs to learn to say I don't know how to do that. I am very sad I lost my hair long I have to say . Recommend DONT GO TO ULTA. Good Luck. This Ulta will not last long unless they train their staff in customer service skills or replace them. My mom went in yesterday because she had bought an eyeliner from the Concord location about a week earlier, but found out the eyeliner stick was not in the tube. We live in Benicia so it was a lot more convenient to go return it at this new Vallejo location. My mom was greeted very nicely by a man at the store and he quickly got her a replacement. When my mom went to the register to make the exchange, the girl was VERY rude. The first thing she said was,"you got this 10 days ago and are just now bringing it in?" My mom works every day and is very busy so yeah it took her 10 days, but she has more than that to make an exchange/return. The girl at the register had blue hair, but my mom didn't get her name. She proceeded to tell my mom they would not do the exchange because she had bought it at the Concord location so she has to go back and return it there. Additionally, the girl also told my mom they most likely would not exchange it at Concord and they would have to check the tapes to mlae sure my mom didnt steal the eyeliner out of the tube. My mom drives to the Concord location and they happily exchange the eyeliner, no questions asked. Then they tell me mom that she couldve returned the eyeliner at the Vallejo location. So for some reason the Vallejo location decided to create a false policy. My mom spends a lot of money on cosmetics and has always valued Ulta, but after being blatantly accused of stealing, she will not be returning to the Vallejo locations. I would give zero stars if that option was available. I purchased several Sebastian hairsprays on sale a while back. One of the I cans I recently opened didn't work from the get-go. Went to exchange, with a receipt, only to learn the product is no longer on sale and I would have to pay the higher price. Really? It's a brand new can of hairspray. Why can't it be exchanged for a working one? Ulta not customer focused or customer friendly. I'll take the refund and purchase elsewhere even if it means paying more. So happy there is a Ulta Beauty store in my hometown!!! I came in the store looking for a new face wash regimen for acne prone skin. I was greeted by Cara who specializes in Clinique facial care. She walked me through step by step how to use the facial line and answered all my questions that I had (which was a lot lol) Cara was extremely nice and helpful, I will be going back to her for ALL my facial needs!! Today was my second time shopping here, and it was another pleasant experience. I was in store around 11:30 or so, and it was crowded. I was on a mission to find a new foundation, so I patiently waited my turn at the MAC counter. It took about 10 min or so before someone was able to help me. The person that helped me was great, I think her name was Anterra(sp?). I explained to her that I'd been wearing the same brand of foundation for 30 years,but was having a hard time finding it anymore(Fashion Fair). I had tried a Lancôme foundation( my first visit to the Vallejo store, also very pleasant), and while it was ok, I wanted something more. She was able to find the perfect product and shade within a few minutes. I am so relieved to have found a replacement foundation, and I will definitely be back to check out other products! read more

This ulta is the WORST! I have been going around to ulta to compare which ones are well and which one are complete trash. For starters when walking into this ulta . I was not greeted at all and it wasn't a busy day either. The employees ? UNPROFESSIONAL. They need to seriously train their employees for color matches, customer service and their policy because they are not well trained at all. The prestige manager (read her name tag but forgot her name) is the only one who greets guest who walk in and offer help unlike the other employees. Once I was ready to purchase the lady ringing me up didn't even greet me ! And got irritated when I asked if I could use this coupon which I didn't realize it expired a day before but the manager kindly fixed it so whoever that girl was that ringed me up needs to get fired or get trained on customer service because it's ridiculous do not recommend coming here. Just drive to Fairfield or concord because their ulta is much better than Vallejo. Let's not forget employees gossip so much while working and have such a nasty tone and forget they are customers around. Sadden since it's 5mins away from my house . Very disappointed with this location. I've been in two different time to get color matched for foundation. Was greeted by Tracy who has helped me before at the concord location and did a great job. She very knowledgeable about a variety of brands and application. I asked her on both occasions for assistance. The first time I was passed off and did not get much help at all from the sales associate. So I left with the wrong color and had to come back to return. The sales associate was not very welcoming or friendly. The second time I was greeted by Tracy again and I asked for her assistance directly. She passed me off yet again to another associate. The associate couldn't find the foundation she recommended so I asked if she could bring Tracy over to help me. She walked away and came back to tell me she couldn't. The associate brought me to another counter and tried a few different foundations applied by a q-tip. The last one was a close match but I wasn't satisfied as it made me look paler than I am. I walked around the store to look at other items and I later hear and see the associate telling Tracy "oh I got lucky to find the last one for her." She clearly didn't see me. So I left with no foundation and disappointment from this store. The second sales associate was nice but clearly didn't have much knowledge about the variety of foundations in the store and even the ones she was trying to sell. read more
