Let me start this review by saying I bought a Groupon for this location. This was also my very first time getting eyelash extensions and I was really nervous. The place seemed a little difficult to find for some people, according to the phone calls I overheard while waiting for my appointment. Its the 2nd floor, and you can take the elevator up or use the stairs. There's only two suites on the floor so it's a 50/50 chance you'll walk in to the wrong suite! I made my appointment with Kay and she began promptly on time. She had me lie down and cleaned my lashes thoroughly before beginning. Then, the next hour and a half she worked on my lashes. Everyone's eyes are different and we all have different sensitivities. I am pretty sensitive. Hair dye can easily get my eyes stinging in a few seconds. But this was worse than the stinging from hair dye. It was like someone dripped hydrogen peroxide in my eyeballs for an hour and half, slowly, and I was paying money for this to be done. And it showed, because the next morning my entire eyeball was red. I called the office and they suggested a Saline solution (which helped) but I was also upset because one of my eye's lashes were droopier than the other. Anyways, I went back to get a touch up the next morning with Boo and she re-glued some lashes that fell off from the saline solution rinse. Didn't hurt as much, but my eye was still red and sensitive (which Boo said was normal) so I could barely tell the difference in technique. During both visits, Boo and Kay commented/criticized the shortness of my lashes. They suggested those lash growth serums and biotin pills. I didn't exactly enjoy hearing how short my lashes were while I laid uncomfortably on a chair. And the reason I was getting lash extensions were because my eyelashes were so short... But I believe they gave me less lashes for what I paid for because I had less lashes than most clients. So I suggest getting a consultation before paying for the Diva Lashes. It's been 4 weeks since I got my lashes and I still have some left. However, i had at least 1 lash fall off every day since getting them. read more

I always loved the "fake "eyelashes look so I decided to buy a groupon for it :) this place was the second place I've gotten them done but in my opinion , much better ! This place is pretty difficult to find ( seeing that the entrance is not very obvious ) but once I found the IHOP express , it was pretty easy to spot ! I had an appointment with Mami for my diva lashes ( 60 lashes per eye ) , I was running a bit late but once I arrived , the staff was very helpful ! I filled out a quick survey and then I was on my way . The room is very comfortable and so is the bed ! The whole process took about an hour and it was pretty calm and relaxing , not painful at all . There were points where my eyes were slightly irritated , but Mami was very good at adjusting the eye patches so you don't feel any discomfort ' very nice to chat with as well that makes the time fly (: Before you get them done , your stylist will ask you what kind of look your going for and mold to your liking :) very helpful ! A lot of things don't work for this place 1. Extremely difficult to schedule 2. Lunch time manicure was ONLY application on shellac. Nothing more. 3. Shellac polish came off in THREE days. I love love love Ultimate Lash and Brow...this is my second experience in getting my lashes done. Their are no strong chemical smells, and they place a comfortable gel down to keep done the lashes. My lashes came out great for my New York trip, and I even went back to get them done for my trip to Texas. I love Mami, she is amazing. :) Parking: park at the mall, they validate for up to 3 hours, plenty of time. Also I love my lashes and get a lot of compliments on them! They look very real. read more

I ordered a groupon deal for volume 3D lashes and I've never been so disappointed getting my eyelashes done before. They doesn't look like volume lashes at all, neither did I get the length I asked for. Afterwards she told me that they couldn't do that length, and that I never should use that length. I find it really weird since I've been using it for the last year and it have always looked really good! As you can see on the pictures I've posted, volume eyelashes from this salon and another one. I would not recommend anyone getting their volume eyelashes done here, now I actually have to remove them and go to another salon to get them done again before the weekend. I'm giving this place three stars based on my experience here today. I've been here before , and Allie did my eyelashes. they were perfect. It was my first time she made me feel at ease and was so welcoming and overall she's the best. If you're booking online I promise she is worth the wait. I went online to book her for this Thursday , but due to work related stuff I called to get to get booked earlier in the week. I ended up called back by whom I assume is to be the manager and she recommends Chrissy. I was already on the fence to even change my appt but the person too?!?? So I'm like why not? If Allie is good her co-worker should be as well you know ? I arrive and we get started. She didn't even ask me what type of eyelash curl I wanted or color. All she said was I read the previous notes on your last visit do you want it the same as before and I said no I want cat like eyelashes. 2 hours later , I'm so disappointed. My eyelashes look like I've had them for 3 weeks and I need a fill. Not to mention she got glue on my lower lashline and I couldn't even open my eyes! They started watering and Allie had to stop helping her customer to come help me. I was so frustrated. I get to my car and look up close in the mirror I have eyelashes poking me falling out.. ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!! This place has TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I went in for a microdermabrasion facial with "aesthetician" PAT DEGNAN. To make a long story short, all she did was try to up-seel me on a cleansing facial. I explained to her that I get microderm all the time, and I would appreciate it if she would just do the facial I paid for. She tried to say it's(cleansing facial) what was best for my skin. I have great skin- I get facials/microderm all the time. So this is what they do- they try and make you feel bad about your skin to up sell you. Then when you explain to customer service about your bad experience- they say I was defensive about my skin. That is not it at all!!! She wanted to charge me much for for the cleansing facial. After I politely said I wasn't interested, she increased her attitude and said I should listen to her because she is the expert! Are you kidding me? How about I'm a customer? I came in for a relaxing facial, not to listen to some frumpy "aesthetician" try to up sell me on a facial. She then let out a bit sigh and told me I was wasting her time, so we better hurry this up and get started. Well, we wouldn't have wasted any time if she would have just done her job and did the facial I paid for!! Obviously I felt attacked and very uncomfortable, so I got up and immediately went to the front desk to explain there was a problem. She was then chasing me down the hall and begging me to be quite. She asked me not to say anything and then tried to be all nice to get me to come back inside! psycho! Once I told the woman at the front desk what happened I heard other employees mention this was not the first complaint about Pat. I told the front desk girl I wanted to let the owner know what happened. She told me I would have to first send an email to Kim in customer service. I did that. Kim said she would see what happened and get back to me in 24 hrs. Well several days later she finally decided to get back to me and said that it was just miscommunication. There was no miscommunication- your aesthetician has an attitude problem! While she offered me a refund (which we will see if that happens!) she should have not needed 24 hrs to see what happened. I wrote her a long email explaining what happened! She then took the side of the terrible employee! Of course the aesthetician is going to have her version of what happened- and her version is 100% false. So there you have it- TERRIBLE AESTHETICIAN- (who by the way should pick a different career option if she is going to be dealing with humans) and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE by the so called customer service manager- KIM. And it's not even about the money. I'm not nearly as concerned to get my money back- it's the audacity that Kim sided with the crazy aesthetician. She had no regard, compassion, or empathy of what I had been through! And that is what customer service should be about! I told Kim in my email that I would like to speak to the owner- as that is what should have happened in the first place. I cannot believe someone would run a business like this. I also received lashes which looked great for two days, then most fell out. After all of this, I'm not going to even worry about the lashes. At least the woman who did my lashed was very nice. BEWARE of the positive review on yelp- they are super pushy in getting people to write a yelp review and offer incentives. I feel any business who needs to do that is going to exemplify what this business stands for- and that is TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, and BAD BUSINESS Get your groupons in now, because place like this are a dime a dozen. I went to get my nails done, at a brow and lash bar, in a plastic surgeon's office. Trying to get through this maze for a quick groupon gel manicure, immediately I was put on the alert. Luckily I found downtown parking with 55 minutes on the meter. I came in for the "Lunch Express Shellac Manicure" which was neither shellac (brand) nor a manicure, as manicure requires a nail soak, cuticle clean up and hand massage. I found out from the girl who did my nails that the salon just moved to this location. The owner has been running this "jack of all trades, master of none" operation for 4 years. At this brow bar, they also do nails, mink eyelashes, hair extensions, and don't forget there's a plastic surgeon across the waiting room. Say what? The place is completely junky and unprofessional. My polish was removed with cotton pulled from a plastic container which originally contained banana chips. The other employees just throw their purses on the unused pedicure chairs, and I heard the girls talking about all the supplies and colors that they're out of. This is an inefficient and badly stocked salon that can't figure out what their specialty is. I figured what the hay, $10 gel polish is still a good deal. I tipped my nail artist $5 (50%!!) because I felt badly that the employees have to pay for monthly parking in gaslamp garages just to show up for work. But be advised, they'll charge you an extra $2 in "groupon taxes" when you provide the groupon. So, for a $10 groupon which actually cost $12 and a $5 tip, I should have stuck with Kathy at Diamond Nails, who only charges $18 and gives you a proper manicure. Fraudulent business practices. I feel like "lashing" out!! Nowhere was it written or verbally explained that in addition to the Groupon fee, I would be responsible for paying a sales tax on the actual value of the service; which in my case was $24. So now my Groupon is up to $74 for a supposed $225 service. I could have canceled but that would have resulted in a $25 cancelation fee. I have been generally happy with my Groupon purchases; however, this is seriously unethical. When the receptionist not only apologized but suggested I send in a formal complaint, I knew there were many other clients who had experienced the same dishonest treatment. They Charge TAXES on the Groupon offer. Bad business practices. I purchased their Groupon and was never told that I would have to pay TAXES on the original amount, $250. Of course they send you tons of reminders that if you miss your appointment or cancel, you will be charge the deposit. Never once mentioned TAXES. It's sneaking and uninviting. Boosara is awesome. Really enjoyed spending time with her and the lashes turned out great. People commented on them but thought they were real- perfect! The spray tan on the other hand was a hot mess. Streaky and I spent the whole next day trying to de-tan wierd spots before I went to Vegas. Wouldn't do that again. I give it a 3 stars ONLY because of their POOR appointment/booking policy! I find it hard to believe that even after my face to face review they were in such denial that the appointment system is just not working in their favor! If you truly want our honest feedback then accept it and realize that I am NOT the only one out there complaining about this; most of the YELP reviews are based on poor customer service and/or the appointment policy, oh and did I mention the high taxes? PLEASE, PLEASE, be open to customer reviews and do something about it before you loose more POTENTIAL customers. Got there a few minutes early and the door was locked but Mami poked her head out as she was with a client. With a big smile let me know it would be a few minutes. This studio is very small, for 1 or 2 people, but that's fine. Very clean and a mini version of Downtown. Mami was so sweet!! She asked me questions gave me her suggestions and we went with it! YAY!! Another successful time at Ultimate Lash and Brow. PB is running a special--if you book, $75 for 75 luscious lashes!!! Seriously, booking online is so easy. If you are North Couty--go visit Mami and if you are downtown, go see Monica. You won't be sad and you will have gorgeous eyes to bat at anyone!!! read more

I will definitely be returning here again. This place is excellent! The technician I had, Monica, is awesome. I wanted my lashes to look natural but still glamorous and flirty and that's exactly what she did. 2 weeks later, 90% of my lash extensions are still intact. Monica was an expert at lashes and on top of that, she was also very personable. Thanks again! Btw, they are very upfront about collecting tax on the Groupon. The Groupon states it, they tell you when you book it, they tell you when they call to remind you of your appointment and they tell you again when you arrive. I would give this place 4 stars, however, after getting my lashes filled I have changed my mind. My first experience was OK. The glue was burning my eyes the entire time and sitting in the chair for an hour was torture. My lashes are long on their own, but I wanted more volume added to them, which is what I got. Unfortunately I woke the next morning to find that one of my eyes lost half of the lashes. Luckily Mami said I could come in that day and get them fixed. My lashes lasted for almost 2 1/2 weeks, but I did lose most of them during that time. I went in to get them filled and Mami was not available, so I scheduled with Janelle. I noticed that when jannelle was putting on my lashes, she did not use the same technique as Mami. Mami was meticulously taking each of my individual lashes with tweezers, and applying the lashes. Jannelle, however was just putting them on with her fingers, and I felt like she was ripping out my lashes in process. I wanted 70 lashes, and what I got was about 40. She said that I did not need 70. My completed lashes looked OK, but I would have rather had more applied. I noticed that the glue was really chunky and was not smooth. It felt rough and my lashes were getting stuck on my bottom lashes because of glue buildup. It was also painful. I left town the next day and lashes have been falling out since. it's been a week and a half and most of the lashes are gone. Several of them fall out at once, taking out my real lashes with them! I'm mortified, and now have to pay 35 dollars to get them taken off. I'm praying that I still have some natural lashes in the end. Obviously all their technicians do not have the same skill level. I've heard horror stories about getting eyelash extension groupons, and unfortunatelyI ignored it. read more

4/24/13: After my orginal post, I unfortunately had a change in heart. I went in for an appointment on 4/6/13 to have a refill. They had to place 50 lashes to properly do the fill- which I thought was a lot considering I had 80 lashes placed 3 weeks prior. So six days after my refill appointment, over 95% of the lashes fell out. I was VERY disappointed because I had paid $100 for the fill and I even bought the lash conditioner and the makeup remover, followed their post-op steps to a T, and still had a very poor outcome. I cancelled my pre booked appointment and will not return. I will keep my word that their staff is very friendly; however, their product falls short. The salon's staff is super friendly, and the techs are very professional. They send text reminders and even sent me re-routing directions to avoid getting in st patty day traffic. Victoria does my lashes, and she is great; always on time, easy to talk to, and she doesn't push a billion products for you to buy. The only comment I will say is that 70% of my lashes fell out before the 3 week mark. They were beautiful for those 3 weeks, and I even bought some solution to help them last longer at my last appointment. My first time at ULB and first time getting eyelash extensions. I am extremely happy with the service, Monica (or Moni), and my extensions!!! My co-workers even complimented me on my new amazing lashes. I had and early am appointment, filled out the paperwork, and got started with the appointment. Moni explained everything in detail, the extensions, the service, how to care for them and future care and up keep. We discussed what kind I should get and Moni recommended which she thought would work best for my lashes and I agreed. She got started with the service and it was really relaxing....in about 1.5 hr she was done and I got to see her work!! AMAZING!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I would highly recommend going to ULB. I had an express microdermabrasion facial and got eyelash extensions there. I got the diva look eyelash extensions and they look awesome. I am pretty rough on my lashes so I had to go back for a fill after a few weeks and they made them look as good as the first time. She gave me some suggestions on keeping them from falling off. Both girls were very friendly and did a great job. My face looked great after the microdermabrasion and electric therapy she used. The lady was very knowledgeable in skin correction and had some great ideas for helping my skin improve. I would definitely recommend this place for whatever beauty services you need. I came here because I found a Groupon deal for brow extensions. It's a cute little place in Downtown and super clean. I love how it's pure white inside and lighting is great. It's very modern and professional. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Allie did my brow extensions and I have to say she is amazing! She was so warm and sweet. She is detailed in her work and meticulous in her technique. I strongly recommend her to anyone looking for these kind of services. She's so talented and won't stop until it's perfect. She often asks for your opinion as she goes to make sure you're completely satisfied. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was because brow extensions aren't for me. They looked great but I'm not disciplined enough to maintain them. I use too many products, serums, cleansers etc that don't agree with extensions on my brows. I couldn't deal after a day so I soaked my brows in coconut oil to remove the extensions gently. First visit was at their old location and hard to find, but the new one is very accessible and there is always parking right in front of the building. All of the staff is very professional. I had Vickie for my last two visits and will definitely be back to see her again! I've had my eyelashes done at other salons and they never seem to last 3 weeks, these on the other hand lasted over a month and still looked good! Finally decided to make the switch from Latisse to eyelash extensions with the help of Vickie S. at Ultimate Lash & Brow today. I am very happy with the result. I opted for a combo of 100% mink and 100% human hair in the "Noticeable & Edgy" set. After about an hour and fifteen minutes, voila! I had beautiful, long wispy lashes. This look is very pretty- not costume-y or really fake looking. I know I won't have to fight with mascara clumps every morning now and that is an awesome time saver. Vickie S. was a great stylist. She thoroughly explained the process and made me feel very comfortable, so much so that I dozed off while she worked. She also did a great job of setting me up with after-cafe instructions and a few (inexpensive) products to help keep my new lashes looking fab. She is always on time and is great at light conversation or can be quiet while you sleep. lol I am not sure if anyone is aware that this place has a man named Bobby Ritchie who is the master of a facial. I began a series of facials and have never been more pleased. He takes his time and addresses your concerns. If you are willing to commit to a series he is more than willing to work with you on price. I am constantly getting compliments on my skin and truthfully only have Bobby to thank for that. I just moved here from LA where touch up's cost more than $100 and were itchy and pretty much gone if i waited a full 2wks. My touch up from Ultimate has lasted 3 weeks w/o any itchy lashes or patchy shedding. I think the better result must be superior glue. I'm wiping down my eyelids per their suggestion with plain saline each day, and, using their eyelash conditioner. I'm really happy with how they look after this amount of time. I had a 7:30am appointment for the Mascara lash look with Mami . . . which I somehow thought was at 7am. The receptionist was very nice and let me log on to their WiFi to work while I waited. Then she even went downstairs to put coins in my meter around 8am (when meters start). Great service. Mami showed up early (yay) and the appointment took about an hour. She was super nice and patiently answered all of my questions. A+ on the experience, and my lashes look fabulous! Natural but also noticeable. I'm very happy so far. I give it 4 stars because the $18 tax on the Groupon seems excessive. I've never run into that anywhere else. Everything else about the experience and the look of the lashes was 5 stars though. I was having my eyelashes done elsewhere and she was wonderful but just too far away and her schedule was always packed making it difficult to re-schedule if I needed to do so. I decided to research closer options and after reading reviews and searching the internet found this salon close to my house. I walked in to check it out and met Moni. She was so knowledgeable about the different types of lashes, lash services and got me signed in and an appointment set two days later. She was fantastic. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I have been here multiple times to get my lashes done and each time they have turned out great! I have gone to both Kay and Monica for my lashes and both of them were awesome in giving me the look that I asked for. I was always so curious about lash extensions but then again very scared of what might happen to my eyes due to all of the fumes. LUCKILY, I was taken care of by a wonderful technician who goes by the name of Elizabeth. She was so, so, so thorough and really caring when it came to making sure my eyes were closed the entire time to prevent the fumes from getting into them. The procedure was a long 2 hours, but that it is just standard time for applying lash extensions. She walked me through every step and it was absolutely painless!! She also was not afraid to tell me when she was having trouble with my tiny little eyelids. Her honesty actually made me feel more aware of what was going on and helped me understand that she really did care about my eye safety and the overall look of my lashes. Victoria was very helpful and because of wear and tear from years of using horrible lash curlers she suggested a product they sell there which has made my lashes grow amazingly long ! I bought a groupon. Charon was my nail tech - she was awesome. Precise and efficient - friendly and engaging. I was a little taken back my the $2 "tax" charge, as I wan't aware of it. Charon was upfront about the extra cost of french manicures and that there will be a charge for the removal of the Shellac next time I go in. read more
