Later I Called and scheduled a lift to be installed and asked for a quote. Upon asking for a quote I was asked what kind of lift on what kind of truck. Informed them of the lift, all additional pieces, and that it was powder coated. I was told it would take about 2-3 days and quoted $829 which included everything mentioned including the alignment. Called the Friday before dropping it off on Monday to verify everything was on track, left message for Chad and was told he'd call me back that day before end of day....no call back. Brought the truck in on Monday as planned, went over all the parts, showed them everything and explained all the parts and asked if they had any questions or if anything was going to change....was told no changes looks pretty straight forward. Between Monday and Thursday (when I picked it up) I was there several times bringing tires/wheels, picking up tires/wheels, checking the stance per the installers request, etc and was never told there were any changes. During those days I called 2 times for Chad and left messages with no return calls. I was told on Wednesday around 12 that chad would call me that day before closing so I could come by and approve the stance and make any needed adjustments before they sent it for alignment first thing Thursday morning....5:45pm still no call. I call them and they're closing and was asked to rush over if I wanted to see the truck. After getting there the installer told me of a few things HE would do to make the front brackets look better and since he had the rear sway bar lose to move it 3 inches. So I said ok sounds good. they told me the truck would be ready by 11am Thursday. 11:30am Thursday and no call. I called 3 times and left messages for Chad, the lady said they'd be done around 2pm. I had to have the truck by 1pm. Still No call back. I call Chassis Dynamics and they tell me it'll be done in 15 minutes (11:45am). No call from Ultimate Off-road. I call from a different number to Ultimate off-road and Chad answers. I tell him I need the truck and it's done, it's waiting for them to pick it up. I arrive at 1230 and get the truck at 1:20. When checking out I was told my final price would be $1339.95! After asking why I was told because they didn't know all the parts that were in the kit, they had to take special care because it's powder coated, and I made special requests to move brackets that were installed correctly. First, the powder coating is chipped beyond repair, second, they knew the parts included in the kit and additional parts when they quoted me, third, those suggestions to move brackets were made by the installer... the bad thing is, no call backs from Chad, and after being there and seeing them throughout the process I was NEVER told there was any increase in price or told they were expecting any changes whatsoever. Terrible customer service!!!! Terrible business ethics!!!! And when asking for an explanation in the substantially increased price without notice, Chad became VERY confrontational. It almost seemed that he KNEW he was wrong and became very defensive. He told me my truck wasn't a SEMA build so chips were expected. After asking how he knows it's not a SEMA build he tells me it's obvious, look at the rest of the truck. (My truck is a Platinum Tundra that's in MINT shape without a blemish) Overall the install seems to be done well. Nothing exceptional, nothing great, simply done per instructions. Here's tips for the shop: don't quote a price just to change it afterwards without notifying your customers. This is a used car salesman's tactic: bait and switch. Communicate better with your customers. Let them know what's going on with their vehicles throughout the process and notify them about any changes. If there are going to be any changes, stop, call the customer, get approval before continuing. Here's tips for potential customers: there are SEVERAL capable more friendly and more business savvy shops in the area to use, don't drop you vehicles off here. If you do, be prepared to pay more than what you were quoted and good luck getting a call back, you'll have to call them for updates and to keep them moving on your vehicle. And I guess an additional $500 wasn't enough to replace the Toyota factory clips they broke and didn't replace. read more

I had just had my long travel suspension installed in California before driving out to Yuma for the annual dove opener. I found out very quickly that my CV axles were touching my springs. This was causing various issues on the truck. I made a last minute call to Ultimate and spoke to Cody, and he said they may possibly be able to squeeze me in the next day. I later got a call from Chad confirming they had managed to find a slot for me to bring my truck in. What we were hoping would've been an easy fix turned into a whole days work. Chad had his guys do amazing work on my truck and the issue is now finally fixed. Despite being a whole day of work, the total everything came to was extremely fair. I have been chasing a noise in my Jeep for 2 months. I have replaced brakes, axle seals and wheel bearings. Took my jeep in to Ultimate Offroad to replace the front driveline and ensure that the noise from the front end had actually ceased. While they efficiently replaced the front drive line with one better suited to my lifted Jeep they did not check to see if the noise had vanished as the result. I asked if they had checked for the phantom noise I was told that they "assumed" that it did. It did not. read more

So I was making a trip from Phoenix to San Diego, and my truck broke down right outside of Yuma. The rear differential decided to quit, so I had it towed here. This place was recommended to me by a couple of guys online. So I went ahead and chose this place to do the repairs...bad choice. I spoke with "Chad" over the phone and gave hime the rundown on what happened. He went ahead and checked out my rear diff, and agreed with me that the entire deal had to be replaced. I had intentions to upgrade the rear with a ratcheting locker and had express such to Chad. He said he couldn't give me a price on anything (parts/labor) because his computer was down. So I went ahead and did some research online, found the parts I wanted to upgrade, and called him back up. His attitude quickly changed and instantly snapped on me saying he isn't in the business for people to buy parts online and have him install them. Look, I get it, shops mark the prices up on parts. They gotta make their profits on wherever they can. My intentions was to simply do the hard part and find the parts I wanted in my truck. If he wanted to charge an extra 10% on top, fine whatever, but all I was trying to do was to get my truck back sooner. Since that conversation, communication with Chad and Ultimate Offroad sucked big time. They NEVER called me, I called them. It wasn't until I said fuck it, and spoke with someone else there at the shop. My truck sat at their shop for 3 1/2 weeks until they got around to repairing it. I really don't get it. But they went ahead and got the last laugh. I had a friend of mine pick the truck up for me because I was unable to at the time. Well they went ahead and left it in 4H. He got about an hour outside of Yuma, and the transfer case blew up, sending the front driveshaft (which can't be balanced, and caused the t-case to blow up) through the passenger floor board. My poor truck :(. Unfortunately there's nothing I can really do now. I gave them 2 stars because the rear diff looks decent so far. read more

Ultimate off Road has been our choice of repair facility for our Jeep. We found service honest reliable and well within price range of shop hours for service . We've had skid plates, shocks, roll bar and fuel can holders installed. We have regular oil changes done there. We've also recommended them to friends who were quite satisfied with service. read more

I had a 3" body lift done on a 1997 Suzuki Sidekick, and I must say I had nothing but courteous and professional advice and work done on this vehicle. And, they stand behind what they do. If while working on my Jeep, they discover a potential or future problem, I get a phone call from Mike. He's very involved. He wants to make sure I'm OK with everything they've done or need to do. You don't get personal service like that from anybody. He has really taken great care of us. I recently returned from a quick hunting trip to Yuma. Shattered an aftermarket headlight on my Jeep JK while traveling on 95. I wasn't going to drive around with a single headlight and I generally don't have patience to work with average mechanics. I found Ultimate Offroad on the internet while driving. Spoke with Mike on the phone a few times while making the 2 hour drive and the parts I needed were in his shop the next day. Mike and Chad were great to work with and I was impressed to see all of their bays full. Yuma is lucky to have a true offroad shop in town (not a tire store that may think they can lift a Jeep or truck). I understand why folks drive down from El Centro or further to work with Ultimate. I'm glad I found Ultimate Off-road, Chad is a stand up guy and I'm happy with the work they performed on my RAM 3500. They re-geared front and rear, ARB lockers, front/rear, and did a killer clean install of the compressor. He stands by his work and will make things right if your not happy. This organization has some what quality repairs. They are very arrogant, over priced and a must avoid place to do business. They never give you an estimate for your repairs and are 3 to 4 times the cost of industry standards. Quality of work is not the issue with them. I don't know about the guy with the Toyota pick-up who blamed Ultimate Offroad for his misfortunes...but I would like to say that I am an avid off-roader and winter in Yuma. I have taken my TJ to Ultimate for over 7 years and have never had an issue with their service or workmanship. They have made several "major" modifications to my TJ over the years as well as providing scheduled maintenance...and yes, they are somewhat on the pricey side...but, and this is a big but, their workmanship and attention to detail is second to none. With regard to getting an estimate, I always ask for and get an estimate. They always are at the estimate or call me to tell me what is going on and why there might be a change in the estimated cost.
