We've now been to Bob's Diesel Service two times for routine maintenance on our motorhome. Last winter season we had a radiator flush/service, a steering stabilizer put on & a couple of other things. This week we had the oil changed & new fuel filters. Hubby appreciates that Bob allows him to stay on site while the work is being done so that he can inspect underneath the rig, ask questions & add extra services as needed. We find the value to be reasonable especially when we live in our rig full time & yearly maintenance is required to keep our old girl running like a dream. read more

I was apprehension about using this service because of the bad reviews. Called a local friend and decided to give them a chance. I am very happy I did. The shop is clean, they use botties on their shoes to enter your coach and clean jump suits. Work is done in a timely manner. Fili replaced the pyrometer and after road test made adjustments. I am happy with the service and results. Will return when I need service in the future. read more

Brought my international tow truck in for a low oil pressure no start issue. After 6 months of frustration with these people and threatening to tow the truck out of there, they got it running. Only enough to get about 20 miles down the road where I lost all power due to no oil pressure. I returned to the shop and they gave me $1500 back and made me sign something that stated they are not liable or responsible for anything. I.went back the truck the following day to drop the oil pan, only to find they didnt even connect the oil pick up tube. In addition the electrical work I had them do all had to be redone because the crimping came loose. The work was terrible, service was non existent and the mechanic working on my truck worked like he was on drugs. The oil supply line to my turbo was not even tight and sprayed oil all over the place. I would say that this was pretty much done intentionally. I would never recomend this shop to anyone. read more

Had an issue of a leaking MH diesel fuel tank. Welded it up without having to drain or remove tank. Charged $100 and I was not only amazed but a happy guy! First estimate at a competitor was $1,100 and would have to drain and remove tank!!! Go figure! read more

A good value. PROS: Good price: $71/hr for cash: half of Cummins. Friendly. Quick turn-around. Good communication before and during service. Several RV spots available with 30A electric. Tried to save me money by not replacing oil and filter for generator, which had two years on them but low hours. CONS: Ten gallons of diesel fuel spewed all over the engine 250 miles after the secondary fuel filter was replaced. There was a split in the fuel filter due to Bob's mechanic's incompetence. This resulted in a breakdown on the highway, dirtied the whole engine compartment, was smoking and got diesel fuel all over the towed car and could have resulted in a fire. Bob's management gave $100 back, but Bob's reputation is tarnished. Poor signage. Trash around camping spot. No greeting when we arrived. Could not get correct grease to use in our Rockwell air brakes. Brakes need Bentonite Clay-based grease but Steve the foreman could not determine what they use. Greasing was only done to the suspension and drive shaft. The coolant was filled one gallon low and transmission ATF was filled 3 qts low. read more

Bob's has changed! I had this organization replace several leaking air system fittings and to install a new charge air system filter which I provided. The workmanship was fine however the billing was not. Bob's wife is apparently the shop manager nowadays, began he $100/hr labor rate the moment I arrived.....no mechanic in sight. Completed the paperwork and it was nearly 1 hour after my arrival before the technician started repairs although I had been charged the labor rate since my arrival. They continued to charge the labor rate while the mechanic hunted the shop for the necessary fittings, almost laughable as he was searching through the parts room as well as looking in assorted drawers, their service trucks, tool boxes and the like. Finally Bob's wife drove her car to the parts store to retrieve the needed fittings, all the time the labor meter running........that's just not right! While Bob's bride was gone for 45 plus minutes I was continuing to be charged the shop labor rate even though the technician was working on another vehicle during that time! There is much more to the story but I do believe that my point has been made. While Bob's Diesel has been fair in the past to me, the current philosophy is simply unacceptable, not to mention all of the broken down equipment and filth and junk in and about the entire facility.......you would think by appearance the shop was in rural Mexico. I cannot recommend this shop for obvious reasons and would advise everyone to stay clear, considering the "real" shop labor rate calculates to over 200/ hour. This is the best place in town for RV repairs. Cheaper than every where else, they offer a cash discount and the mechanics really know their stuff. They let us watch during the service and check out our RV while it was on the lift. Our mechanic explained everything to us and made sure we understood before starting the repairs. They run their shop tight and effectively, so there are no fancy frills but you really can't beat the price. We are customers for life. read more
