The summary is, they are trustworthy…read more I put my Volvo XC60 in for service last November including timing belt replacement. Early this year, car broke down and towed to Artarmon Motorserve. It was there for a very long time (which was frustrating) but full credit where it's due. They spent a lot of time exploring the issue, trying to solve the problem and repair the engine before concluding a new engine was required (seems the timing belt slipped causing irreparable damage). They kept me appraised along the way. They took responsibility for the whole thing including the diesel particulate filter which clogged up after the new engine was put in. It didn't cost me anything - repair warranty covered the lot. I'm not a mechanic - they could have told me it was a new thing and I wouldn't have known. They were dead honest. The manager, Bryce, was absolutely terrific. I could not commend him more highly alongside his team who are nothing but cheerful and helpful. They have secured my business for years to come.

Generally, the petrol price at Mortlake Service Centre is ten cents more expensive than the average price. A little annoying, but you're paying for the convenience (of not having to drive the extra few minutes to Concord Rd). If you have a long drive ahead of you, this is not the place to stock up on munchies. The variety is limited, to put it kindly. Despite all this, I continue to fill up in Mortlake because the service is exceptional. A nostalgic atmosphere greets you as you drive up to the petrol pump. There's no need to get out of your car because a friendly gentlemen will be there before you can open the door, asking how your day has been, and how many liters you need, before filling it up himself. Sometimes it's worth paying a few extra cents for exceptional, old-fashioned service!

I was desperate, looking for a workshop around the area for my rego. I have used these guys in the…read morepast once to wash my car, they are ok but not great, there's not much attention to detail, they are expensive, your better off at a self serve. Anyways I took in my 2013 Audi for a rego check and was told the car had to be left in for a couple of hours, which was weird considering it usually takes less than an hour. When I was called back I was presented with a list of repairs totalling about $5k and I would not be able to renew my rego unless fixed. They said it will never be approved anywhere. I found this odd considering my car is low mileage, very well maintained with a great history of receipts and log books from Audi only. I decided to go to this place due to convenience as it was nearby but I made a mistake. I was shocked, so I took the car back and went back to Audi, my car turned out to be great and I had to just replace a faulty globe for $25, which these guys didn't even pick out. I got my rego done now and have learnt my lesson to stick to my dealership where the service is not only reliable and genuine but fast and much more cost affective. I made the mistake thinking I could cut cost, I was also advised that these kind of hustling was common and should be reported. I dealt with Michael at the workshop, and would be careful, he seems polite at first but mostly misleading. There is another larger guy there who is very rude and would try everything to discredit you. I was told it is common to come across hustlers like this in affluent areas of Sydney especially and it is common to be taken advantage of, its worst if your a female or don't look local. I would highly not recommend anyone to go here. You will not have peace of mind, and this whole experience just shows me how untrustworthy and how inexperienced these guys are. They are a car wash not a workshop, above all they will rip you off. I wouldn't believe the whole Japanese car wash hype on the website or even the reviews on google. It almost seems like the reviews are fraudulent or even fake. I scrolled down to the negative reviews and it seems like we all had the same experience. I don't want to come off negative. I usually leave reviews like this when I have truly been cheated or left with a bad taste. It's not good to hustle and take advantage of people. Especially when safety is involved. Please don't make the mistake I made. They can come back with a response to this review if they like. I am happy to challenge them as I have physical evidence, and I am considering reporting my experience to fair trade and the relevant bodies. Stay safe guys.

I tried to start it up after 4 days of not turning it on (don't look at me like that, I live in the inner city, it's why I don't own a car!!!) the darn thing wouldn't even turn over. Nothing. It was like the sahara in the middle of the night. No, scratch that. It's a bloody underground car park and if I could have heard crickets, this is when they would have been chirping. Suffice to say I thought, oh mum's responsible, she'll have roadside assistance. I called at 6.40am. Yup, sure enough she did. They said in about 60 minutes. Ten minutes later I get the nifty sms telling me that it will be 50 minutes or there abouts until I'm seen to. Sure great, I go back into the apartment to wait it out. By 7.40am I'm outside the building again wondering what the hell happened. I call back. Operator (lovely person that she is) tells me that he's sitting outside the address, ok I say, I'll see if he's at the wrong address. I walk up and down our little back street. No NRMA man. I call again at about 7.50am. Nope, he's still there. Ok, maybe I missed him, I do my 5 minute walk up and down the street again. Nope. Nada. I wait outside until 8am. Still no NRMA man. I call back, thankfully I get the same woman on the phone so I don't have to explain my irritation to her again. Nope, he's still waiting outside my address apparently. Um no, actually no he isn't. I suggest she might want to check with the driver at this point because obviously he's not in the right place and I've now been waiting outside for 30 minutes in the bloody cold for the non-existent NRMA dude to show up. Ie. I was not a happy camper. She puts me on hold and calls the driver. Oh yes, haha, silly me, he was at the wrong address. He's now 2 minutes away. Really?! REAAAAAAALLLY!!!!!! He turned up at 8.10am - I was irritated. He tried to sell me a new battery. I told him to go away. Ps. Thanks for the charge mate that took all of, oh, barely 5 minutes to do. I know most of them do great work, but geeeeeeeez louise. When you pay for a service you don't expect to get this much of a run around.

I've owned a few cars and been to many mechanics and I will very happily keep taking mine to these people. Booked in for a pre-purchase inspection of a '83 944 and off the back of the report bought the car. Took it back in later to get an immobiliser, central locking and stereo fitted. Collected it but was told that speakers needed replacing and would take a few weeks to order - then when I drove it away found the air-con wasn't working any more. Went back to get the speakers sorted and air-con fixed. Phoned up and was told to come in the next day to pick it up - turned up and got blank looks from everyone - was at a different garage as they couldn't find the problem with the air-con. Got a call later saying the air-con wasn't broken by them and they couldn't see what the issue was - I got pretty angry as could only have been them - working when i took it in, they open up the dash for the stereo, then broken when i pick it up. Called back later and told they'd fixed it - they'd knocked out the earth when fitting the stereo... Then it got fun - went back to pick the car up after hours as they'd left it out the back with the key hidden. Got in the car and first thing i see is the passenger seat is ripped to shreds. It was already pretty UV damaged, but was complete apart from one small tear - its now in pieces where the mechanic has had his knees in it trying to sort the aircon out. Phoned them up and they deny everything - don't even remember what it looked like when i brought it in and reckoned it was already torn - even though their own pre-purchase inspection report mentions nothing about it. Then I notice the heater is pumping out hot air continuously - they've open up the fan heater when trying to fix the aircon and somehow buggered that up as well - cant be turned off and temperature cant be turned down, so a gentle burning breeze is pouring down onto my feet all day. Then the stereo cuts out every time there's a spike in the volume... Their offer to give me free seat material was useless - didn't pay for the speakers and don't want them touching the car ever again. I've gotta accept my car is 30 years old, but when you've chosen the most expensive garage on the northern beaches because you think they'll have the quality to stand by their prices you got to be gutted. The WORST thing about it is the total lack of integrity in trying to deny they were the cause of the aircon break and the torn seats - zero respect for them after that. Am sure other peoples experiences are better otherwise they wouldn't be able to charge the high prices and wouldn't still be in business, but i'm finding another garage.
