This was fantastic! Being from New Orleans and devouring snowballs for years, this shaved ice taste very similar to me. To be fair, I always get a chocolate with condensed milk poured on top, and it was delicious! The consistency of the ice matters for me. This was a refreshing treat especially during the hot summer months. The staff was very helpful and patient. The restroom was clean. Parking was minimal, so walk if you can.

We love shave ice--fine fluffy syrupy kine with a dollop of ice cream nestled in the center with snow cap of condensed milk and bespectacled with mochi--and for that we paid $16 for a Keiki (child's), not including tip! Delicious but exorbitantly priced imo. Róselani is a good ice cream, but alas it's $2.85 add on for less than a quarter cup ball. Hmmm.... Service is fine, friendly and space has indoor seats but I'm not sure this can last.

Went to the Kapahulu location. Small shared parking lot. Pretty busy so patience is key. Friendly staff to help. Shaved ice is fluffy and syrup ratio is good. Enjoyed being able to sit down with a small group of 6 no problem.

Good, but honestly I don't get the hype. Ululanis has yummy local flavors and I'm a fan of their new dirty sodas, but honestly it's quite expensive for shave ice (starting at over $7 for a keiki size!) and they aren't making their syrups in house. It's also very busy and gets crazy at nights, even on weekdays. Would go to Chillest in kaimuki over Ululanis every time - the shave ice is about the same price but so much larger, plus the syrups are homemade and you can really taste it!

A little sweet for our liking but loved the lihing mui syrup! The texture of the ice was also amazing. Workers were friendly and happy. It wasn't too crowded on a Thursday evening.

I stopped by here yesterday with my father for an afternoon snack. My father was looking to get a shave ice and who am I to complain with that? So I looked on Yelp and was able to find this location of Uluani's which, while close to Waikiki, is not in the chaos of Waikiki. In any case, for my shave ice on this day I went with an ulu and chose lilikoi and coconut as my two flavors. My father also went with an ulu and chose grape, lime, and coconut as his flavors. The ice here was shaved super thin and, as usual, I loved the flavors. The coconut at Uluani's is creamy with a nice coconut flavor while the lilikoi is both sharp and sweet, which makes for a great combo. My father also enjoyed his combination, which included flavors I had never tried from Uluani's before. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. As I have stated in other reviews before, I consider Uluani's to be the standard for shave ice and this visit only reinforced that.

Disappointed that it was mostly just ice, the syrup was just on top. Would recommend Haleiwa Town Shave Ice near Stix in Waikiki--much better!

After trying all of the hyped shave ice spots on the island, I can confirm that Ululani's is #1. Their ice is so soft and smooth, their syrups are made with real fruits (none of that artificial tasting BS), and they use Rosalani's ice creams (goated). Service is friendly and quick. There is plenty of seating inside too. I've been to the location here and on Maui, and love their mango, strawberry, guava, and pineapple syrups. Also, do yourself a favor and get a scoop of the Banana Mac Nut or regular Mac Nut ice cream (ITS SOO GOOD).

Great option for shaved ice. Lots of flavors and definitely satisfied the kiddos. This location is located next to Leonard's so the plaza is pretty busy. We went late at night after dinner and it hit the spot. Lots of seating and the staff was very friendly.

Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice is a shave ice chain that started by Ululani and her husband David. The business began by serving at community events and private parties and now has 15+ locations throughout Hawaii and various states in the lower 48. This location in Kapahulu is in a small plaza across the street from Leonard's Bakery. They have a smaller and a bigger size for their shave ice. We ordered the keiki / small ($7.29) which included three flavors; we got mango, strawberry, and blueberry. We also added mochi and ice cream as toppings and along with others the total ended up being around $13. They use syrups made with pure cane sugar, natural fruit purées, and ultra-purified water. When I ate it I could tell they were not artificial at all, unlike other shave ice shops I've been to. Their tag-line is "All shave ice is not created equal" and you can tell the difference between Ululani's and others.

Cute little shop with a master creator; each serving is edible art. Hands down the best thing I've ever eaten. Choose your bowl size, then one scoop of premium ice cream, then your syrup flavors and cap off if you like. I kept things simple. Medium bowl, pineapple coconut scoop, Hawaiian sunrise flavors. I had the pleasure of watching all of the magic happen. After my scoop was covered with shave ice and patted down, deep holes were poked into my treat and it was covered with Hawaiian syrups. Each spoonful was delightful, I was mad that I didn't choose a larger size. There were chunks of coconut and pineapple in each bite. My syrup flavors; passion orange, mango and guava were a great choice. Kicking myself for not ordering a larger size. That was amazing!

Came to this location at 12:30 on a Tuesday. A nice, large and air conditioned spot to buy and eat shaved ice. Unfortunately, they were out of 8 flavors when we were there, but the ones they did have were quite tasty. We got Mango, Guava, and Pineapple. Shaved Ice texture was really good like shaved snow. Towards the bottom, the ice compacted down into larger chunks. Also, the center of our shaved ice didn't get any syrup. Otherwise, a really nice refreshing snack.

My bf and I were in the area and I've always wanted to check Ululani's off my shave ice bucket list, so we stopped in to the Kapahulu location after dinner. In terms of the menu, it can best be described as "sensory overload" haha...their menu is printed in rainbow colors and there's so many options/combos/add ons to choose from. For comparative purposes I went with the flavors I usually get from other shave ice stores (lychee + pog, but we also added li hing). Since we were still full from dinner, my bf and I decided to split a keiki size. I wanna say our total for one keiki shave ice came out close to $14 ($7 base, $2.50 for the ice cream, $1.25 for snow cap, $1.50 for mochi) pretty pricey! With that said, I could tell the quality of the ice, syrups, mochi and local ice cream was top tier. I'd recommend this place to tourists or if you're in the area and want to treat yourself.

Located just outside the Royal Hawaiian Center, the shop almost always has a long line, but it moves surprisingly quickly thanks to the convenient self-order kiosks. Despite the steady stream of customers, the staff handled the crowd with impressive efficiency, and our order arrived sooner than expected. With its vibrant layers of color and fresh toppings, the shave ice created a breathtaking first impression. Better yet, it tasted every bit as incredible as it looked. **Hawaiian Rainbow: 5/5** The Hawaiian Rainbow was the perfect sweet treat on a blazing hot day. Layered with housemade coconut spirulina, strawberry, and mango syrups over incredibly soft shave ice, it offered a bright medley of tropical fruit flavors. The shave ice itself was exceptionally smooth and delicate, with a texture reminiscent of fluffy snow that dissolved almost instantly on the tongue. Hidden beneath it was a layer of rich, soft ice cream that provided the perfect creamy contrast to the refreshing flavors. The finishing touches were a generous drizzle of condensed milk and fresh strawberry chunks, whose subtle tang balanced the sweetness beautifully. Homemade mochi added a soft, pillowy chew, while the lychee popping boba contributed subtle floral notes evocative of rosewater. Every element complemented the next, making each spoonful just as enjoyable as the last. Island Vintage Shave Ice more than lives up to its well-earned reputation. From the stunning presentation to the handcrafted syrups, silky-smooth shave ice, and a texturally diverse assortment of toppings, every component came together to create a phenomenal dessert that's every bit as delicious as it is visually captivating. If you're visiting Waikiki, Island Vintage Shave Ice deserves a spot at the top of your must-try list.
