Island Latte (sub almond milk) and Premium Matcha Latte with Haupia Cream
    India T.

Visited this place twice during my trip and was satisfied both times! The place itself in this specific location is really small and they do get busy, but the service was really fast . I tried the Kona mocha the first time and matcha the second time. I liked how the matcha was not overly sweet and loved that it was already dairy free. The mocha was also good, but as I got near the end, it was just too sweet for me. My partner tried all the other drinks and was satisfied with all of them. My main flaw would be that the online ordering system is a bit strict with substitutions. We could not substitute the milk online, only in person. Still, a really solid spot for drinks and a good place to try when visiting.

Located inside of the Ala Moana Mall, the popular Hawaiian chain, Island Vintage Coffee, is on the first floor next to the food court and conveniently next to the parking area. We stopped by when we came to the mall in the morning before we started our shopping and got a couple drinks to-go. The service was pretty good, somewhat fast, and easy communication. The ambiance was a bit crowded since the line is in the middle of seating, but if you're just grabbing coffee, this is a good choice that's worth trying.

Back again after few years, the "island latte" is still my atf latte, the matcha frappe was also great. Shorter lines here than Royal hawaiian center"

The hardware: La Marzocco. The only picture that matters.

No frills. Just solid espresso. When I want an espresso that is good because it's good espresso, Island Vintage has always delivered. Extra points because they always tailor the amount of milk in my iced latte. It's really an iced cortado.

Always on my radar finally this morning had a chance to check out Island Vintage Coffee. Got there once they opened around 8:00am no line so it was great . Service was fast and friendly I ordered their hot White chocolate mocha latte. It was very mild and wasn't too sweet like some places . This lsland Vintage is located near the food court ground floor off to the side of center stage . They also have a nice selection of coffee beans along with merchandise.

Frozen Matcha Green Tea & Vintage Kona Mocha

Had heard good things about this chain and finally got the chance to try it when shopping at the Ala Moana Mall. A friend and I got the Frozen Matcha Green Tea with Whipped Cream and a Vintage Kona Mocha with Whipped Cream. I'm giving this place 4/5 stars only because I don't think two frozen drinks are enough to judge a coffee shop fully, but the drinks we had were fantastic. Exactly what we were looking for on a hot day, the Matcha Green Tea tasted pretty similar to the version Starbucks offers, but with a slightly stronger umami flavor. The Mocha was also delicious and had a good semisweet chocolate flavor - not too sweet or too bitter.

hawaiian coffee is the best at this location!!

the hawaiian coffee here is soooooo so good. I've tried it at other cafes and even other island vintage chains and i think they make it the best here! I get the hawaiian coffee with oat milk and it has the perfect amount of sweetness. it's very spacious with lots of seating here as well. highly recommend this location!

Drinks: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I think this place is overpriced but take my money because its thattt good. Waiting for the Island latte is always worth it. My go to drink has always been their island latte! Decided to try something new this time! I decided to try their seasonal menu. Island Latte: 5/5 It hits the spot every-time! Matcha Latte with Haupia Cream: 4/5 Its good but you can't really taste the Haupia. Horchata Latte with Haupia Cream: 3/5 Its more nutty to my liking.

Always need Island Vintage when I'm in town for a Vintage Kona Mocha. The staff is always quick and friendly. The store is bright, tables are full of customers enjoying their coffee and buying coffee to bring home.

    Liliko'i Moana Bowl

Food: I got the Liliko'i Moana Bowl and it was delicious, super fresh fruit and really refreshing overall. Just note this spot is only a café, so they don't serve the hot food you'd find at the bigger locations. Ambiance: The space is smaller than other Island Vintage locations, so it's not as nice or roomy. It was fine for a quick bite, but I do wish the seating area looked a bit more organized. Service: Service was solid and the staff was friendly and everything came out smoothly without any issues.

This is now my new favorite place!!! The frozen macadamia mocha is my regular order. I've had their açaí bowls as well and the regular is the perfect amount. Wish they had a drive thru!!

I always visit when I'm in town. The hack is to order online for pick up if you're only getting a coffee and that's it. For food and smoothies or bowls maybe I'd wait in line snag a table and enjoy the shop. But usually I order online through their site and it's super easy and quick and the drink is always waiting for me by time I walk from my hotel to the cafe. I wouldn't say these are strong coffees, they are more like dessert sweet treat coffees. I always add an extra shot to whatever I'm getting to get that stronger coffee flavor. Drinks are always 10/10 I haven't ate the food so I can't comment on that. Açaí bowls are a must on a hot day! I like the merch they have in there, great gifts to bring home for yourself or family.

Ask the Community - Island Vintage Coffee

Is this place good to do work remote?

I don't think it is. Small space. Tables close to one another side by side (no privacy) and a line of customers in the middle of the store. Lots of tourists and people needing seats.

Is the Vintage Kona Mocha available again? It's been out of stock for the past two times we've been back to Hawaii?

Is this location less crowded than the Waikiki location? What's the average time in line?

I think so. went there and there was no line. Granted it was a thursday....

Website says they open at 6am, Google maps says 6am, Yelp says 10am. What are the correct hours?

Thanks for your question! The Ala Moana hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM everyday except Sunday. Sundays are from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Where is Island Vintage located in Ala Moana mall?

They were located just next door for the center stage area on the bottom floor of the mall. Easiest way to find it is to look for the center stage (where they have have the hula shows), as you face the stage, the coffee shop is on the right side of… Read more

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

It was less than three dollars including tax, so definitely affordable. The guava filling was great, but the donut itself was kind of bland. If it weren't so cheap, I would have given it three stars. But it was a good deal and I might go back.

The Lava Mocha is hands down my favorite mocha I've ever had. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. It was the reason I came back and waited! Mauna Kea Iced Coffee is my FAVORITE coffee of all time. I will be drooling over this coffee until I return. It has coffee, sea salt caramel, a scoop of ice cream, and black sea salt. Already it sounds delicious and it was. I finished my drink within 5 minutes. I didn't order any food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The menu is extensive with plenty of options, making it a great place for brunch whether you're craving something sweet or savory. The café also has a small section selling Island Vintage merchandise, which is fun to browse while you're waiting. If you choose to sit outside, don't be surprised if a few birds decide to join you for breakfast and they're regulars too.. Overall, despite the longer wait for drinks, the quality of the coffee, inviting atmosphere, and tempting menu make this a spot I'd happily visit again.

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
