Chicken Salad

I ordered the chicken salad with all the veggies and hummus as the side. Was delicious! All the ingredients were fresh and so tasty! Definite recommend this cafe! Thumbs up!

Stopped here on a whim after some onewheeling. I had heard it was good, but my expectations were not that high. Boy was I surprised. This place is super tasty! We ordered at the counter, and sat down at a table by the window. About 10 min later the food came out and was fantastic. I got the chicken tikka masala platter w/ hummus. The hummus is good. Thick and tasty, not too much garlic, well blended. The chicken and rice were really good together. Chicken was good quality, and the rice was very flavorful. My wife got the falafel wrap and stuffed grape leaves and enjoyed them both. Her mom got the lamb which she really enjoyed. All and all, if you are looking for a satisfying and flavorful meal, you can't go wrong here!

Figured we'd try this place out since we are fans of Mediterranean food. It's pretty small inside but cozy. 8-10 tables. Kebab platters, salads, dips, and teas/dessert on the menu. The service was decent; everyone in there was kind. We were really underwhelmed by the food. We tried chicken tikka, lamb, and beef, as well as hummus and eggplant dips. None of the proteins were tender. The lamb and beef were very chewy, some pieces not even edible. The chicken was overcooked, even in sauce. The salad was very basic. The Lemon tahini dressing and the eggplant dip were the best things we had. But we won't be back. There's much better food at similar places in the area.

They have organic lamb platters & wraps. Excellent & it came with a side(2 grape leaves for me)).I ordered the wrap with pita, olives, Feta, cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce. It was big enough for two.

Every time I am on Grubhub or DoorDash searching for a new restaurant to try, I always ran across Umami. Oh me Friday after work, I decided to finally give them a try! Best decision EVER! This restaurant is quaint. The inside is decorated beautiful, very warm and inviting. The staff is very friendly. The lady who served us explained menus items to us, made suggestions and even informed us about a special that they were running. With everything that we ordered, I was surprised by how reasonable the total was. Our order was ready in no time and with the wonderful aromas escaping the bag, we couldn't get home fast enough to dig in! The food was so tasty, the platter and wrap were the perfect meatless dishes. I especially loved the lentil soup. The perfect dish for a cold day.

I stopped in for some dinner with friends. Awesome little Mediterranean place with lots of Vegan options. My friend with us was Vegan. The staff was very friendly and the place was quiet and inviting. It is very small, however. Only two tables so I recommend takeout. I had the chicken kabab wrap and it was fantastic! Lean all-white chicken and excellent flavor. I also had the Vegan chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Equally fantastic! You'd never know it was vegan. Overall, excellent service by a very friendly staff and excellent food. I couldn't ask for more. Will be back.

Yummy!

Ok... so I've lived in Catonsville for 19 years, and never knew this gem was right out my back door... literally. I've started being more attentive of the meals I consume and thought I would give this place a try. What a wonderful experience I had. From the time I walked in, there was nothing but great customer service, from Rehan, who happens to be the owner of this gem. The conversation was pleasant, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely the best Mediterranean dish I've ever had. The overall freshness, the flavorful chunks of chicken, the fresh greens, the seasoned basmati rice, oh it was nothing short of amazingly delicious! The naan bread, warm and fresh, the hummus, everything was delishhhhh! So, now that you know all of that, It will explain why I went back today with my better half, and ordered the same thing X 2. This time I added 3 of the ginger cardamom lemon juices, which are out of this world delish, 2 baklava (pistachio and almond) mmmmmmmmm, so FRESH! Everything was AMAZING! Customer service is world class! Oh, and I just found out today that they CATER! So Spring Grove Hospital, UMB, St. Agnes Hospital, local doctor offices, and any other businesses, let Umami Global Bistro cater your next meeting, I promise you won't be disappointed. Rehan, thank you and your amazing staff for delivering what consumers long for.... Great food, warm environment, freshness that you can truly taste, and once again WORLD CLASS SERVICE! I will definitely be returning again, again ,and again! I definitely recommend tis restaurant!!!!!

We had an earlier dinner reservation so it wasn't as crowded at the beginning but was quite busy at the end. We tried a couple different cocktails and I loved both of mine - Ashta Affair and Asfar So Good. The Ashta Affair was sweet and creamy and the Asfar So Good was deliciously refreshing. My friend really enjoyed his Old Fashioned Date and had a fun experience trying the El Massaya Arak. For appetizers, we ordered Muhamara and Mousakhan Chicken Rolls. The Muhamara came with pita and was such a great dip. The chicken rolls were equally as good with their own sumac labneh dip we enjoyed. For entrees, we shared the Braised Lamb Shank and Makloubeh. The portions were large and the meat was tender. Neither were over seasoned and were absolutely delicious. We couldn't finish it all and saved the rest for leftovers - yum! We wanted to try their dessert and ending up getting the Ashta Bil Asal and Ruz Bil Karaz. The Ashta Bil Asal had cotton candy which made it a fun dessert to try and the Ruz Bil Karaz had a great caramelization coating. Neither were overly sweet which we preferred. It was such a great ending to our meal. I absolutely loved my experience here. Our server, Miriam, was friendly and attentive. We even chatted with the GM, Iman, who also made sure we were provided a great first experience. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone who's looking for a boujee but amazing time!

We started with Arabic coffee and the Harra Wala cocktail--both were really good. The coffee was strong and flavorful, and the cocktail was unique and refreshing. For food, we ordered batata harra, beetroot hadiqa, lentil soup, saffron pita pie, and saffron rice. Everything was solid, but the saffron pita pie and batata harra were probably my favorites. The lentil soup was super comforting too. For dessert, we got the raspberry sorbet and baklava--perfect way to end the meal. The sorbet was light and refreshing, and the baklava was sweet and flaky. Service was great. Our server made sure we enjoyed our meal and was available to explain the menu options and checking on time to time if we need anything. Overall, a great experience. I'd definitely go back!

My mom had shrimp kabab, I had beef kabab and dad had the veggie kabab. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Even desert was good. My mom loved her baklava and I had pudding cake. The hostess was good, she wanted to seat us in an enclosed section, saying it was warmer. The waitress returned to our table often and met all of our needs. The food was yummy and fresh. I enjoyed bringing some home to eat the next day. This restaurant should have 3 dollar signs because 95% of the entrees are over $30. One star is lost for atmosphere. No matter how nice the decor was, needing my coat and scarf to eat indoors was ridiculous. You see the reason we weren't seated in the warmer section (the hostess's words) was because the owner told her to seat us elsewhere. We learned that he was the owner when our waitress gave us rice pudding from Rudy. We didn't complain and that pudding almost earned the star back. UNTIL my husband stopped at a room heater that was positioned away from our table. Ugh

For a couple of months my friend, who is of Turkish heritage and lives out in Germantown, wanted to meet me closer to my home to go to Cazbar. We went on Saturday, 9/6/25 for lunch (lunch prices are better as why I shot for lunch time). We walked in, and it was fancy Middle Eastern decor. Server was nice & efficient answering questions. I got their take on flatbread pizza called Lamb Pide. Wow, the lamb and pizza as a whole was amazing. My friend got some more expensive platter, which looked good. If I came back, I'd maybe get something like what he got. My friend (& me to a lesser extent) were cogitating on getting a dessert. I think me saying we ate a lot, it's extra calories, & prices are pretty high for dessert, ended up swaying him not to get dessert. Plus, there was a Greek festival and might get a baklava or other dessert there, which I did. Overall, my impression was wow, this place is impression, and I want to go with my girlfriend one of these days, maybe on a weekend before a movie at AMC Columbia or something.

It is worth walking around the restaurant to view all the pretty decorations. The menus are media pads that don't get wiped off (gross). I don't understand how a restaurant that has technology (and a robot busser) can't sort out separate checks. Groups of six or more are charged a 20% service charge. Large groups are charged a $25 fee for using a credit card. My suggestion is stop handing out the pretty bags for leftovers and get rid of the credit card fee. We have a group of eight that meets once a month. We won't be back as a group. It might be fun to return sometime with less people and watch belly dancing. The menu is extensive (a bit confusing on the media pad) and has vegan and vegetarian options. The portions are decent. The items are flavorful and most are pricey. Guests who split a dish with someone are charged $15 for not ordering an entree. The watermelon margarita was pretty. I appreciated pitchers of water at the table. The cold hummus trio was tiny and tasty. The red lentil soup was nicely seasoned and barely warm. The sweet potatoes were nicely presented, flavorful and not filling. The red sauce wasn't too spicy but ketchup tasted better. The lamb moussak eggplant dish was large. The Doneri Iskender lamb dish was $10 more with bread and sauce. The vegetable kebab had zucchini & squash. My friend didn't want the rice & bread so she substituted a salad. $40 for a skewer & small salad seemed excessive. The salad with chicken was large. Everyone enjoyed the lamb. The desserts were large enough to share. The noodle breaded dessert was interesting. I enjoyed seeing the dishes. The Chocolate cake was yummy. The baklava was sweet and good. They only had the green flavor. The server was mostly locked into our needs. The manager gave everyone a pretty to go bag. You can see the menu on your phone & can avoid the over used media pad.
