I honestly will never be coming back to this place again after this experience. I placed an online order for a regular Goat Biryani, mild spice level, which is literally the same order I get almost every single time because I cannot handle spicy food at all. When I picked up the order and started eating it, it was extremely spicy to the point where I could visibly see all the spice in it. It was completely inedible for me. I called the restaurant politely just to let them know there may have been a mistake because I know for a fact I ordered mild. I even double checked while placing the order because this is something I always order the same way. Instead of trying to help, the guy on the phone kept insisting that I ordered spicy. That made absolutely no sense because why would I intentionally order food I literally cannot eat? I have no tolerance for spice at all. What made it worse was how dismissive and rude the conversation became. He kept saying things like "I heard you correctly" and blamed it on two orders coming in at the same time. Instead of taking accountability for a simple mistake, he kept trying to argue with me and basically imply I was lying about my own order. I even went back to the restaurant to explain the situation in person, and he still kept insisting that I had ordered the biryani spicy. At that point I was so frustrated that I just threw the food away in the trash right in front of them and left because there was clearly no effort being made to resolve the issue. The frustrating part is this is not even the first issue I've had here. Another time they completely gave me the wrong order but I didn't make a big deal about it because mistakes happen. This time was different because of how poorly the situation was handled and how defensive the employee became instead of trying to resolve it professionally. I've been ordering from here for a while, but after this experience and the customer service I received, I definitely will not be returning. read more

I set my car to Falafel and it brought me to Kabab Hut. a Waffle House open airy environment for Indian and more. the pictures and vegetarian menu made me change plans and I'm glad I did. veggie Shahi Korma was excellent. and a generous portion. mango Lassi that was full mango. it is a purchase at the counter and take the food to a table setup. there is still a 20% "in-house" fee for eating in. A self serve eat in space is hard to classify, but the food was very good. read more

I would order carry out at least once a week. The food was great until my last visit over a year ago. The sauce in the curry special was watery and tasteless with a few tiny pieces of chicken floating at the bottom. Where are those generous portions? I've only had their biryani. If you're a spice lover, extra spicy will get you there. All I'm ever looking for is a restaurant that will "get me there." And if they are able, then to me, they have infinite value. Because only a handful of places can do that for me. Their extra spicy biryani, not only has the pain inducing capsaicin type of spice, but also the head swelling aromatic type of spice as well. Great portions and cheap prices as well. Or maybe it's normal for this area? I don't live around here. Used to go here often because my university was nearby. Don't have much else to say as I only had their biryani. I think the food and value is quite good here. Their kababs and tikka masala are quite good. The Masala has a lot of tomato flavor, which my family likes. The naan i like because it is not overloaded with butter and it's more fluffy and thicker than other restaurants. Some places put way too much butter on it, and make it really thin in the middle. I do with their rice has a little more aroma to it. Maiwand's rice i think is better than here. Overall I like the food here and recommend giving it a try. read more

So i went as a walk in, place is very small so donot expect to go with big groups as it can hardly accomodate 15-18 people, price is very reasonable i also like the taste and flavours in it. I wanted to try many items but i was just by myself so i couldn't but most of the food comes with two sides which is amazing unlike other restaurant i mean you order curry and donot get anything. It takes a while to cook so you better have patience or order ahead on phone. I believe those guys taking order needs to be more engaging and suggestive while someone placing order which will Help making future relations... Recently ordered takeout from Kabab Hut. It was delicious and filling! Everything was good. I'll say that the spice level default has a kick. I like spicy food and I think Medium was perfect for me (they also have a "Spicy" and "Extra Spicy" option when ordering). If you want a twist on spicy buffalo wings, try the tandoori wings; they have a nice kick of heat and flavor. Even the samosas (which come two to an order) had a punch of heat to them. All the entrees come with a small salad, a helping of rice, and then a big piece of naan. We thoroughly enjoyed the malai kofta, palak paneer (though a few more cubes of paneer might've been nice), chicken tikka masala, and coconut shrimp. A nice bit of mango lassi to wash it down and it was an enjoyable meal. Folks inside were friendly and the food was solid. The prices were fair. I'll be back for sure! read more

Had such a good experience coming here for lunch on Sunday. The restaurant itself is small, self seating after ordering at the register. We were a party of 5 but we managed to find a table before it got busy. The menu is pretty big, but there are pictures for all the dishes, which is helpful. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, tandoori kabab, chicken kathi roll, Bihari chicken, and the seekh kabab. It took about 30 min for the food to come out, but everything tasted amazing and was cooked perfectly. All the food tasted fresh and the naan came out shortly after. Portions are good for sharing and for take out. We came here from out of town but I would love to come back and try more dishes! read more

I've been going to kabab hut for many years now and this is the worst it's been. Not sure if the chef changed or what but the chili chicken and biryani were pretty bad. Chili chicken was super dry and not flavorful. The biryani completely changed as they are using a different rice and the flavor isn't appealing anymore. Overall, i think that might have been my last time going there as I've been going there for these two items and i rather go somewhere else and get better quality food. read more

It really makes me sad to write this review because I feel for them that they are short staffed, tons of orders as they are always so busy when I come. Never slow, so I get that they are overwhelmed. And their lamb wraps are really good so we will continue to come back for the food but something seriously needs to be done about the staff here. However it may work for them- maybe they need to hire more help or change management or something or say we cannot fulfill an order at this time to accommodate for a rush. There needs to be some remedy, but extremely poor customer service is no way to make up for the fact that they are overwhelmed. The customer service I've experienced here tonight is outrageous. The attitude from the manager of the place is insane! I called today at 7:20pm for a dinner order. No greetings on the phone just "hi". Placed my order, without confirmation or anything was told "40 minutes" and then "name". Okay great conversation and I felt uneasy about my order but I was like okay they're probably busy that they had to talk in under 5 words... We gave them an hour as I know from past experience how much longer they go past the estimated wait time and I'm okay with that. We went at 8:30 and the guy (manager) laughed and said there was no order put under that name. And then he was like "well maybe you placed it at another place" not even looking at me while talking. And I was like well I can show you my call log, our convo was very abrupt and brief but we had it. And he said snidely "you can go somewhere else for dinner". "We came here and drove all the way here for a reason." Paid and now currently wait ANOTHER half an hour. I would be a lot more understanding if the manager was sincere and apologetic about it. Mistakes happen when busy, but NOTHING was done to rectify the situation and not once was an apology given. I'm not really sure how the manager decides to do business as such... This is a good place to go to for casual Indian food. I went there a couple of times, I've gotten their samosas, which are always hot and fresh with a great spicy curry ginger taste. I've also gotten their wraps, and also their lamb tandoori. Both were pretty good, but I thought that the kabobs were somewhat over cooked. I didn't mind that too much though, bc I can call ahead and pick up the food which should be pretty convenient. However, even though I called ahead and arrives 20 min later after I called, I still had up sit in the store and waited for another 20 minutes. I thought that was way too long to wait a total of 40 min just for grilled lamb and samosas. I'm willing to give this place 1 last chance. Hopefully they will be more efficient next time. read more

This is our go-to most nights when we don't want to think about dinner. It's always a hit no matter what you order. Everything is always freshly cooked to order and delicious. My favorite is the tikka masala and tandoori--super flavorful! This is the most authentic Indian food in the area. I am surprised why this place doesn't have good reviews! We tried the Biriyani and the Bengal kabab. The best thing of their food is authenticity and uniqueness. The flavors are almost to the original and they actually have different variety of item which I am going to try soon. We did takeout and the restaurant looked pretty clean. Meh. Not overly impressed with anything. Tried the lamb korma, chicken tikka, chana masala, aloo nan, and garlic nan. Chana masala had the most taste, but for being "mildly spicy" it had some kick. Definitely couldn't feed it to the kiddo, which is why we ordered it all mild. Portions aren't what I'm used to for an Indian place, but the prices are lower than most. Lots of sauce, not much meat. Too many solid Indian joints around to go back here. We ordered out and the weight of the top entrees crushed the bottom one to the point that it leaked in the bag. You order and pay at the counter, but they don't tell you ahead of time that they automatically add 20% "service fee" to your bill if you choose to eat there. I am a regular at this place and have tried out most of the menu items. The food is 95% of the time absolutely fantastic and 5% total disappointment. I am not sure why the same food can taste so different another time. I guess they are in a rush as the place is usually very busy so I always give them the benefit of doubt. Very poor service. They did not provide tea even though it had a in the menu saying it's Ramadaan. We bought tea packet from the store next door. They could not even provide hot water in paper cup. My roommates had to go to Patel Brothers grocery, so I joined them and noticed this place next door. They were set on Paradise Biryani, but I got to choose this place thanks to my cranky underfed temperament. We ordered tandoori chicken, chicken tikkay, and chicken tikka masala. Everything is halal and about $10-$15. The food took some time to come out, but wow, it was sooo good!! Generous servings and nicely cooked meat. I guess chicken tikka masala was a bit sweet but it may have been made for American tastes. Naan and rice are included in the price of the entree. Also, they let me substitute chanay (chickpeas) instead of the rice. It is not a fancy fancy place (think Chipotle), but hey, you don't have to tip and you will likely have leftovers for next day's lunch. The best thing was that my roommates came home and said they were happy I bugged them to try this place and they will listen to me in the future. :) read more

The kabab wrap combo is my favorite. Its super filling and a great deal. However, it can be messy, so I learned firsthand not to eat it in the car. I usually get the chicken tikka masala, which comes with a small salad, naan, and rice. It's consistently good and a lot of food, which makes great leftovers. Ordered on Sunday night a little after 6pm. Tandoori chicken was ok but the biryani was bland, the rice.....hard. It almost felt like the biryani has been sitting outside for a couple of days. Worst biryani I've ever had in my life and I grew up eating biryani and have had it at over 30 restaurants in Maryland and a couple of restaurants in northern VA.
