They used to have the best wonton soup! The noodles were like silk. This was quite a few years ago. They went on a long vacation, came back and everything was different. Literally the worst Chinese food I have ever had the displeasure of ordering. I ordered three different stir fry type entrees. Key word being different. They were almost completely identical except for the meat-- down to the sauce and flavor. And the flavor wasn't something they should be using for any dish, much less three. They were definitely supposed be at least fairly different, mind you. One was meant to by spicy; it wasn't. Another was meant to have mushrooms; it didn't. The chicken with broccoli was 90% cabbage, carrots and onions and only very, very few pieces of chicken or broccoli. And there was no description for these items on the menu. I went back and double checked. If it had been my mistake, I'd own it. All the dishes were the same overcooked, soggy mess, covered in what looked like lumpy gravy. Don't waste your money. read more

Save your money. First off, don't order based on their website. The prices on the website are over five years old. I know this because they told me! Current prices are typically twice what's on the website. And the food was beyond tasteless. I ordered Chicken Chow Mein with fried noodles and white rice. I got no noodles, but I did get a bag of fried won ton! Don't know where that came from. The chow mein was a huge portion of cabbage with some chicken, carrot and celery, all swimming in a clear, slimy, tasteless sauce. The only saving grace was that there was a ton of food. Good food and great prices. Everything thing was cooked to order and piping hot. Prices were crazy low. They are on grub hub but we walked from our hotel and picked up the food. We live all the way in Richmond Hill, so this is not the closest Chinese food spot for us.. but it is the BEST! Totally worth the drive! Staff is very professional and friendly. Drove past here for years, finally decided to hive it a try. So glad I did. I got in a little early and while waiting the lady at the counter was very sweet to my son and gave him a quarter for the gum ball machine. I got chicken with mixed veggies and fried rice for my wife, and a large veggie lo mein and a large pork fried rice and a egg roll for the rest of us. The portions were way larger than I bargained for and all of it was delicious. I haven't had fried rice this good for a long time and I'm just sad I didn't try it sooner. Super fresh ingredients, huge portions. Generous amounts of chicken. If you're looking for run of the mill Americanized Chinese food, look no further. Chicken in garlic sauce- doesn't have anywhere the flavor. The sauce base is entirely too starchy, color is off. Curry Chicken- again super fresh chicken and veggies. Absolutely no curry flavor. Same starchy base as the other one without the sweet. General Tso's chicken- breading soggy, sauce bland and watery. I was seriously disappointed. I have eaten here since 1993 and it was always quality and you got plenty to eat. Take out is their fare but you can dine in. It is a very basic restaurant with nothing really dressy or fancy. The price is very reasonable for the portions they serve. I left the area in 2004 but returned for a family affair and had to see if my favorite Chinese resturant was still in business. I got lots of duck sauce (not sure where that person was talking about but it sure wasn't here) the most amazing Fried Rice, Lo Mein and their Egg Foo Young is to die for! Absolutely the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. I've been going here for twenty years. If you want quality tasting Chinese take out, this is the place. I recently moved out of state and have been to other restaurants and nothing can compete with New China Garden, not even closely so I just stopped eating Chinese food until I'm able to go here. The people that own the place are genuine and caring as well. I have yet to come across better tasting Chinese food. When I come home to visit, I'm sure to load up and scarf down, lol. Worst experience of my life. I use to come here for years and left happy. They closed down for quite some time and now back open. Owner refused to give me extra Duck Sauce for the order of Crab Rangoon (crab Lilly), so left with bag full of food and 3 tiny packs of Duck Sauce. She informed me that it would be enough?!?!?! I'm still in shock!!!!!!Don't wast your time having to beg for Sauce packs or buy extra for $1...Go across the street to Tokyo Cafe. Prices are half of what you pay here and they give as many condiments as you request without having to beg and feel belittled!! I actually, went there and got dipping sauce for food in bought here! Will never return!!!!!!!!!! Still in shock to have owner take my food out and show me how to use 3 packs of Duck Sauce for bag full of overdone and extremely small Crab Lilly?!?!?!?! Food is much better across street and wayyyyy better priced!!! Staff very rude and not much English, at least she acts like she can't speak it, but bet she knows it very well!! This was without a doubt the worst Asian food I have ever tasted in my 61 years. I got a mixed vegetable dish that was suppose to be in brown sauce. I got about 5 pieces of broccoli a few pieces of carrots, and some water chestnuts in some white homemade gravy that tasted like they just put some oil in some flour and stirred. Horrible read more

I've driven past this restaurant a million times on my way to Walgreens and finally decided to get dinner here with my boyfriend. It took a while to get our food but when we got it home everything was fresh and delicious. They even gave us a bigger size house lo mein at no extra charge. I ordered the chicken curry spicy of level 7 with white rice. Not as spicy as I thought it would be but it still tasted great. My boyfriend ordered the sweet and sour chicken with vegetable fried rice and an egg roll. He said it was all delicious. The crab Rangoon (crab lily) was also great.
