My two brothers and I did the VIP membership (it's kind of like a season pass where you get all you…read morecan eat courses). Robert and the entire operation are really fantastic. We live in Denver but happily make the drive down south towards Colorado Springs for his classes. They are engaging, practical, and we spend more time shooting than talking. Among the things we appreciated most was that he does not force "the one and only way to do X". Having done other training classes, Robert will show you what he recommends and why. If you find it doesn't work for you, no problem (as long as it's safe). For those looking at his course, know that you are moving, shooting, running drills. You work through scenarios and build up your skill sets from a single task to multiple tasks with heavy distractions. This is not the training where you stand in a line and fire. We did all of his classes except intro to Carbine. We even splurged for the precision Rifle and Advanced pistol classes that weren't part of our membership level. The three of us loved the classes and very much enjoyed working with Robert. I would very much suggest that anyone thinking of taking this class does so. To that end, we signed right up for that VIP program and thought it was more than worth the spend.

Full disclosure: I've known Robert for a few years and consider him to be a friend…read more I've taken many of his classes, and I've taken classes with numerous other instructors in the area. Robert is an excellent instructor. He's very good at focusing in on a problem and showing me how to correct it. He's very good at explaining why it's important to do it "this" way, and why it's better than doing it "that" way. In the time I've been taking classes with Robert my shooting speed and accuracy have increased. My hair has grown thicker, I've become more attractive to the opposite sex, I've received 5 promotions at work, and my Johnson has grown 10 inches. Okay. I made some of those up. But my shooting has improved significantly. An issue that Robert takes very seriously is safety. I've sat in classes where I was flagged by instructors. That's never cool. Robert harbors a super safe environment. I've never been uncomfortable in one of his classes. He starts every range session by reviewing his safety policy and emergency protocol. Robert is an excellent instructor and KTG is an excellent organization. I cannot recommend him or it enough!

I first purchased my family's membership in mid 2024 after purchasing a Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol…read more I have a family membership at nearby indoor range but wanted to enjoy their amazing property. It's true, the site is very beautiful and well maintained. However, each visit since my first has become increasingly problematic. Attendants at the range seemed perplexed by my desire to shoot my stock-configuration semi-automatic shotgun at the same range where other paying members were shooting their semi-automatic handguns and semi-automatic rifles. At first, they'd recommend I shot at the patterning board, but then they'd remark that they already had a large number of members at the patterning board... and then they simply stood there wringing their hands as if they had run out of excuses to deny me access to the range and hoped I would simply leave despite paying hundreds of dollars for my membership. During my last visit in the fall, attendants complained that buckshot rounds would be more destructive to their wooden A-frame targets than the wide variety of handgun and rifle ammunition used by other members. When I produced the 2 3/4in Winchester AA Lite Handicap target shells I planned to use, the range attendant looked me in the eye and asked me what kind of pellets were inside as if these shells sold at every Bass Pro Shop and Sportsman's Warehouse across the nation were somehow exotic or different than the shells used by the breech-action shotgun shooters firing at clay and skeet. The experience was so ridiculous that my father will no longer shoot at Pikes Peak, which means no other member of my family will, either. Now that December is upon us, I will not renew our membership. I'll probably explore my options at Fort Carson. I hope this review will prepare other front range shooting enthusiasts who may also be looking for an outdoor range for their shooting experiences.

The level of respect between members is very apparent when I am shooting next to strangers that are willing to make safety first with their open communication on the range. I have been a member for several years now and always feel safe.
