The way they worded this really rubbed me the wrong way. First, I've never been give a time limit at a restaurant that was not all-you-can-eat. Second, the amount of time I spend in your restaurant heavily depends on the speed of your service (spoiler alert: it was not fast). They then sat us at the most uncomfortable table I have ever had the displeasure of dining at. The table was low and the seats were so deep that I could not rest my back on them while eating. Definitely brought the mood down further. Food was a hit or a miss, no in between. It's still a popular spot, and we only waited about 10 minutes on a Friday, which wasn't bad. The space is still a vibe--dim lighting, lots of greenery, and a great date night atmosphere--but it does get pretty loud once it fills up. Service was solid and attentive, and we were able to order happy hour right on time, which I appreciated. For food, we tried a mix of items. The garlic short ribs had good flavor, but were a bit tougher than expected and leaned on the sweeter side. We also had calamari, which was hit or miss--some pieces were crispy, others a little chewy. The soft shell crab in the spider roll was fried with a thick bready batter which we didn't love. We last came for a friend's birthday and they tagged along a tempura ice cream which I thought was a nice touch. Scarlet Letter - small light champagne drink with a fruity blend of orange and pomegranate from the curacao and puree. Sweet and smooth with a classic champagne fizziness draws out the aroma and helps set a chill mood. Panda Roll - I'll have to say this is a favorite with the uniqueness. Specifically the black sesame sauce, which is not an everyday occurrence. The sweetness and texture of the black sesame contrast greatly with the albacore and avocado to bring a variety of flavors together and excite your taste buds. Belltown Barbie - pretty sure this is a really popular roll here and it catches everyone's attention being seared salmon. The crusty sear meshes with the various sweet glazes added on. Demonslayer Roll - wasn't a big fan of this one, the overall flavor profile was spicy and overly sour which I thought took away from the actual fish. Plus the bottom was overly sauced leading to a soggy rice experience that also split from the entire roll on pickup. I came as part of an Infatuation x Chase Sapphire promo event, where you can link and dine at participating restaurants for $75 off $150 or more. We ordered the sashimi platter, spicy tuna roll (5/5), Seattle roll (4.9/5), yellowtail nigiri (4.5/5), bluefin otoro nigiri (4.5/5), Mr. Perfect roll (3.8/5), Moonraker roll (4.2/5), and chicken karaage (4.8/5). Everything was really good! The Mr. Perfect roll was our least favorite -- it has yamagobo (pickled burdock root), which tastes a bit like pickled carrot and threw off the balance. The spicy tuna roll was excellent, and the bluefin otoro nigiri, while good, wasn't as sweet or buttery as others I've had -- especially at $9 per piece. The chicken karaage was really good. The portion was big and the chicken was tender. The restaurant has ample seating and a cozy, dimly lit atmosphere that adds to the ambiance. It does get a bit noisy, though, which made conversation a little difficult. Overall, the food was really good but on the pricier side. I'd definitely come back, but probably just for happy hour next time. Rounding up to 3.5 stars. A friend and I walked in on a busy Friday evening and were able to be seated within a few minutes. The restaurant was bigger than it appeared from the outside and they had a semi private dining space with a party of about 20. The menu is a pretty good size (QR code) and we were able to grab a couple of drinks fairly quickly. We both agreed the cocktails were on the weaker side considering the price. They have a pretty long list of rolls and we ordered three in total. I felt like they were fine but nothing particularly memorable. Unlike many places that give you 6-8 pieces per roll we got about 11-12 per roll. It felt like the rolls are a bit thinner to accomplish the same effect. It also felt like a third of their rolls had cilantro in them which I don't care for, so that made the menu feel a bit more limiting. I probably scrolled through the menu a dozen times trying to find a few options that didn't overlap. Our server was busy but pretty attentive. I think our second drink order was initially forgotten but they got to us eventually. Overall, the experience was fine but I'm not sure I would go again. read more

This review is from a visit during their happy hour this week. Decided to pay a visit on Tuesday before attending a concert at The Moore Theater and we were VERY impressed from beginning to end! We ordered a couple Sapporo draft beers and they came in an ice cold glass. The edamame was perfectly steamed with just the right amount of salt, and the tempura was gone in minutes. Walked in on Monday night 6pm, only few bar seating available, got one in the middle of the restaurant ( super uncomfortable sitting, barely able to straight legs). -- if there is a choice, would recommend to take the bar seats near the bar. The waitress brought in house edamame and water, and she took order fast. And food served fast enough one dish right after another.
