Great place to get Japanese food in Seattle! They have all the Japanese foods you can think of, I really enjoy their skewers something you can't really get else where. Service was good, hours are great, I recommend and would come ba

We spent the day walking the city and were famished by dinner time. Stumbled upon this place near our hotel and we love Japanese food so gave it a shot. Ambiance 10/10- cute fun place with nice decor, smells good as soon as you walk ins Service 10/10- waitress was awesome and service was top notch. Food 9/10- we tried a little bit of everything since we were starving, our table looked like a mini buffet haha. The fish to the skewers were all delicious . Also they have good options for beer.

    Vegetarian Ramen

While in Belltown, I stopped by Manzoku Izakaya because I was craving ramen and hadn't had any in a while. To start, I ordered a vegetarian kushiyaki--specifically the miso-fried tofu (2x). It was so good that I ended up ordering two more rounds, mainly because the portions are very small. The tofu cubes were extremely crispy and flavorful, but what really stole the show was the saikyo miso drizzle. It added a rich, savory depth that completely elevated the dish. This was easily the highlight of my meal. For my entrée, I ordered the vegetarian ramen, which wasn't listed on the physical menu. Instead, ordering is done entirely through a QR code embedded at the table--you use it to order food, beverages, and even request the check, so be prepared for that if you dine in. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the ramen. The broth felt flat and lacking in flavor, like something was missing, and it just didn't hit the way I expected. For drinks, I had the Blood Moon, made with Toki whiskey, blood orange syrup, and a dried orange slice. I ended up having about three--decent, enjoyable, but nothing standout. Customer service was accommodating. Most interactions happen through the QR system, but if you flag someone down, they're attentive and willing to help. It was very quiet when I visited--a couple of days after Christmas--so it was hard to gauge the usual vibe of the place.

It may be under new ownership and rebranded to a new name, but the same underwhelming food and experience stays the same. I've been here twice before under their original name, and vowed to never return as it was indeed that bad, but the rebranding gave me new and improved hope. That turned out to be a lie because they kept everything the same. Food was inconsistent even the same skewers ordered twice came out differently. We chose their AYCE option and they "lost" multiple skewers, but the ordering came from the tablet, so how does that even happen? Service was also very shady as they tried to solicit a google review from us in exchange for a "free play" from their claw machine. So beware if any high ratings as it may not be genuine.

I wish there were more Izakaya's like Manzouka in Seattle! The AYCE option is the most budget friendly by far. Caveat here is, only select items are included in the AYCE price. To be fair, it is still a decent cross section of the skewers, ramen, udon and side dishes represented. There is a 90 min time window and you can only order 3 items every 15 minutes and all orders are ordered on the tablet at your table. There is a timer that counts down to when you are able to put in another order. This sort of put a bit of pressure to get your order in to maximize your ordering window. For $45 I got 28 skewers which is sort of a steal! I never got one of the items but after 28 skewers I wasn't missing it. They seemed a bit understaffed but I could tell they were hustling to keep up with the growing number of patrons. Stand out skewers were the beef tendon and the chicken with cheese surprisingly. Some of the other skewers I wanted to try were not included in the AYCE menu. As budget friendly as this was, I would probably just order from the menu next time rather than go with the AYCE option.

Used to be shinya shokudo and while the name has changed, idk if ownership did too or if it's a rebranding because they do still have a lot of very similar things. Between my friend and I we got a beef udon (really yummy, teeeeeeny little bowl though), shishito, okra, beef tendon skewers with salt (all solid), scallops with sauce (sauce was a bit much for me, the scallops were good though), and the salmon donburi (i don't even like raw fish but could tell this was good). Food was really good, and good quality in general, but you're gonna have to order a lot to be full.

I ordered oyakodon, and the taste was good. The food felt fresh and the service was nice as well. Will look forward to try something new again.

This place recently changed its name and possibly ownership. It used to be called Shinya Shokudo. The inside does look the same and they kept a similar menu. I think that there were updates to the menu in adding more options on there. On my recent trip, I ordered their beef udon, which was a good portion for a good price. My husband ordered the salmon donburi bowl. The salmon had some citrus on it and it tasted very fresh. We always order the chicken karaage when we come here. It always tastes very good with some lemon on top and has a good crisp to it. It typically comes with large pieces too. I would definitely recommend coming here and plan to continue coming back here.

Same restaurant as Shinya Shokudo but with more (and much better options). Recently added an AYCE course that doesn't include everything on the regular menu but still a fun, unique experience. You can also order dipping sauces, which makes the experience more fun. Always a great place with friendly staff!

I wish they still offered AYCE, since ordering a la carte adds up quickly. That said, the quality of the meats is solid. I especially enjoyed the Dry Aged Prime NY and the Garlic Beef skewers. The staff were friendly, and even on a Sunday evening the restaurant was not very busy.

The service was 5 stars despite the process being that you order on the app. The food was good but the selection felt limited compared to the previous izakaya here. There also weren't many vegetarian or vegan options. The ambiance was pretty good as they've kept the classic decor.

great service and delicious food. Got the curry katsu and the portions were very healthy. For a seattle restaurant, an under $20 dinner is pretty impressive. Great music and clean bathrooms. 10/10!

Cheesy corn, chef apps so good.

Fast-forward to 2026 and decided to dine here again with my guy. I'm sad to say that lightning did not strike twice. We had a reservation for 7:15 and were quickly seated. I had been dreaming about their Chirashi Jewel Box and the Maze-men that I had so enjoyed on my first visit. Our waitress, a sweet and friendly pink-haired young woman named Charity, came to take our orders. I was disappointed to learn that their wine selection was EXTREMELY limited: a house red, and a house white (Chardonnay). I'm not a fan of Chardonnay. She suggested a cherry blossom cider so I decided to go with that. Disappointment number one. Disappointment number two landed right afterwards, when I was informed the Chirashi Jewel Box was no longer on the menu. Ugh. My heart sank, as it was the main reason I had wanted to come back. So I decided on the Maze-men. Boyfriend ordered the Dan Dan Ramen and we asked for the Mt. Cabbage salad as our appetizer, lured by the promise of how good it was on the menu. What we got was literally a pile of plain finely-shredded green cabbage on a plate, with a tiny metal cup of dressing on the side. That's it. No other veggies, no other seasonings. I almost thought it was a joke. There wasn't even enough dressing to dampen all of the cabbage. But we were hungry, so there we were like two rabbits, attempting to navigate the messy shredded cabbage with chopsticks. Our mains arrived. The Mazemen was not as I remembered. There was no egg in it; it was super-oily, and was very spicy yet also somehow bland and lacking in flavor. Boyfriend thought his ramen was fine, but nothing special. Overall it was a letdown and a very pricey one at that. I guess you just cannot recreate an experience. Sigh.
