I'm not sure how this place flew under my radar for so long. I live 5 minutes from this place and it is SO GOOD. We came in pretty late, so we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was attentive and friendly. Steamed Gyoza and edamame as appetizers. Both were great. I got the salmon poke bowl and my bf got the Galbi (short ribs) My poke bowl was a generous serving of rice with fresh veggies and the sauce paired very well with the salmon and veggies. My bfs entree was extremely flavorful and cooked just right. Tender and juicy. All the staff was attentive and quick to help out. It was love at first bite. We will be back! I haven't had Korean food for quite some time so when opportunity hits, you take it. It is located on the far corner near the comic book store and Firehouse Subs. The interior of the restaurant is pleasant, spacious, and nicely designed with raised booth seatings and table seating. I noticed they had small jellyfishes in the fish tank which was intriguing. It seems like they are understaffed during our visit as there was only 2 servers for the whole restaurant so it seems like they were backed up. We waited in line for one of the servers to take care of the other customers' take out orders first. When it was our turn, we requested a booth but she just told us to sit down at a table and wait here then she left. As for the food, we ordered the bento box dinner special with spicy chicken (~$14.95) and a bulgogi order (~$12). The bento box came with California roll, 2 fried roll, miso soup, rice, dumpling, tempera, and fried broccoli, potato, and sweet potato. The bulgogi came with rice and 5 side dishes. Overall, I think the spicy chicken and bulgogi was very good! It had great flavor for both and was enjoyable to eat with rice. However, everything else was either okay or wasn't too good. The California roll tasted weird to me, it would seem like the crab meat was overly dry and the 2 fried sushi roll with cream cheese didn't look appetizing. The tempera was good but the salad had a weird smell to it. Overall, if you were to come here, I would recommend getting the Korean meat dishes as it is very good. I just wished there were more side dishes compared to other restaurants. The older gentleman in the back (possibly the owner) was very nice. He came over to carefully put all our takeout in a bag before we left, even though I didn't ask for one or given one. read more

I had kicked around the idea of visiting a noodle house for a long time; so today my wife wanted to visit a new Sushi place we know from Houston that just opened in Cedar Park, unfortunately, opens at 5 pm!!! I'm HUNGRY now!!! So we came back to this wonderful little place. I like going in to an Asian restaurant with an Asian cook. Not being racist, but my people should t be cooking Asian food. I tried a Ramen concoction!!! Amazing!!! The beef was a little tough as well as the beef in my wife's bento box. Aside from that, the flavor is definitely AMAZING! A Korean run sushi joint. Wasn't really feeling like sushi so I decided I would try out their Katsu Ramen. While calling it "ramen" is a bit of a stretch, it's really quite tasty. It's like a Japanese-themed Korean noodle soup (janchi guksu). In that regard it's really good, lots of freshness with the vegetables pairing nicely with the fried meat (though they get soggy fast if you don't eat quick). Only complaint was the egg which was hardboiled rather than the traditional soft-boiled style. Came with 4 crabmeat rolls, which were excellent. This is a mandatory update to my previous review. I have to because I have been eating here weekly since I discovered their Korean food. It could be authentic due to the fact I am the only non-Asian person eating lunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The dishes I usually get have been the Bibimbap (beef or chicken), Bulgogi, and the Kalbi. My most favorite are those cute little side dishes they serve. There are five side dishes and they vary from day to day. Some of them have been: Kimchi (spicy cabbage), Sookju Namal (bean sprouts salad), Kkakdugi ( Radish Kimchi), Dooboo Jorim ( Braised Tofu),Gamja Jorim ( Sweet soy Potatoes), and many more which I have no idea what they are. The Stone Pot Bibimbap is a very HOT stone pot filled with rice and topped with assorted vegetables and ground pork/beef/chicken. You can hear the rice sizzling when they bring out this dish. I top it with their homemade spicy sauce and stir. (Trust me the sauce isn't that spicy but adds so much to the dish.) The Kalbi is tender and full of flavor. The enjoyment I get when chewing the meat off the bone, they can hear me Yumming five miles away. What gets my food orgasm going is the Bulgogi. Beef marinated and grilled. So simple, yet oh so good. Their potion last me for three meals. It is still so good reheated at home. They end your meal with a slice of orange. Again so simple, yet it is perfect for ending a dinner. read more

I have a few reasons I really like this place. Number one and most important the food is great. Another reason Is that it is a convenient location. I also like this place is because I know the portion sizes here are great When I come here I normally order the Korean food. I have 5 or 6 favorite things I normally order and the owner will normally ask are you having the beef Bulgogi again. I shake my head yes and she goes about making it for me. On a rare occasion I will order some of the sushi, Bibimbob, Mandoo Soup or a bento box. The menu is reasonably priced and I have really enjoyed everything I have ordered so far. There is never a long wait and the staff is friendly. If you come in a few times they will remember you and many times what you like to order. It really makes this place feel more like home then a random restaurant. My only complain is that they do not offer plum or moscato wine, but I will say this they do have plum sake. I have a daughter that is an adventurist diner and then I have another who orders a hamburger where ever we go, My picky daughter normally orders the Ton-Katsu. It is a large enough portion to fill her up. She is a little 17 year old but let me tell you that girl can EAT. My more adventurist daughter always makes a point to try to bankrupt me by ordering as much sushi and she can get away with. They both love this place and never make a fuss when I suggest it for lunch or dinner. read more

Fresh sushi and the server was very attentive and we really enjoyed our meal. I can't recommend this place enough.

We are out 30 dollars because the manager would not accommodate to us because of his misunderstanding. We asked if they have beef and broccoli and David, the manager said yes. That's what we ordered. We bring the food home and it's a completely different dish. We spoke with the manager and he told us they do not serve beef and broccoli. He told us he ASSUMED we knew the menu so he gave us what he THOUGHT we meant. We asked for a refund or another dish and he told us he could not refund us and we would have to pay for a new dish. I don't get why we had to waste money and gas because of his miscommunication. Also, my daughter and I were suppose to share the beef and broccoli but we are now left with a dish neither of us have had. Single moms can't get a break out here. Thank you, David. read more

Very nice staff and when we told them it was our first time there they gave us a complimentary appetizer. I ordered the chefs choice sashimi platter and my boyfriend ordered a beef bulgogi bento box. This review is a little painful to write.......only because my experience could've resulted in a much better review. I'll start with what usually matters the most. The Sushi here isn't bad and for the value, I'd say it's pretty good. On the other hand, the service is incredibly slow and I've had some issues therein. I generally dine in but on occasion I'll swing by for take-out if I'm in a hurry. On two recent occasions, I showed up exactly when they indicated it would be ready only to be told that it'd be another 20 minutes (it was actually almost 30 minutes one time). During this most recent occasion, I was told that my order hadn't even been started so I simply asked that they cancel the order and process a refund (I paid for it online). I was told that they would do so and then I left. When I noticed the charge hadn't been reversed a few days later, I called and inquired as to why it wasn't refunded. I was told that "part of my order had been fulfilled" and they refused to refund ANY of the order. This was despite the fact that I was never given any food, I was not initially told that part of the order had been fulfilled AND was initially advised that my order would be cancelled and refunded. I feel like I'm reasonable - had I been told that part of the order had been completed, I would've gladly paid for it and been on my way. However, I wasn't in a position to wait for another 20 minutes. Candidly, I was taken aback by how they handled the entire situation. As a result, I won't be back. I'm sure I can find another "pretty good" sushi place close by. read more

I would eat lunch here at least once a week when they first opened. I has excited to see that I had a good sushi place within walking distance from work. However, the quality and service has gone way down hill. Just today, I order a lunch combo. Never received my soup and salad. The soup was finally brought out after I finished my entree. When I explained that I did not want it and that I also never received the salad they did not seem to care at all. I got some excuse as how the soup had to be cooked since it came from the kitchen. When I asked then what happened to the salad which is not cooked I just got a dumb look back. Needless to say I will not be back. This place has really gone downhill. read more

Honestly, my girls and I go here a lot but that is really just proximity that draws us. We love sushi and actually consume far more frequently than we should. I love the food but that will depend on the Itamae or sushi chef... which can be very hit or miss. I typically tip my sushi chef if he has a good attitude and makes my sushi quick with efficiency. Once we went in rather late in the evening, about 55 minutes prior to close. It took him almost 45 minutes to make our sushi so by the time we got our food it was 10 minutes to close. He forgot a roll but when we asked about it he snapped at the server and told her in very angry mandarine to basically tell us to 'go to hell' but i think he used the equivalency of the eff word. She basically had to calm him down but then in the same rough tone sarcastially upheld his decision to not make us the missing roll. I felt very violated by that long-distance tongue lashing of being honest. He did not get a tip from me and hasn't since. They have also forgotten one or more of my rolls at least twice, in fact, Once I am certain I paid for one that. didn't get and those aren't cheap at between $10-$14 a roll. Another time my daughter and I were sat in a two-top booth that faced a partition wall and required us to sit side-by-side. This booth was right near the back door so every time the door opened you got shot in the face with bright light and whatever smell was ruminating from the porch. Very strange... I am not sure if it is a cultural thing but they do not seem to be bothered by your discomfort and appear to listen when you voice it. The tables are often sticky- a little warm water bath at night before closing time might help that. Just a quick scrubbing bubble and 'how's your father' (in a thick British accent) would do the trick. On many occasions, we have tried to order items on the menu and they seem to be out of them. Japanese soda and full bottles of wine to name a few. I won't go into why I asked to about the "Klondike Bar" cut i forths or "New York Cheese Cake" that are on the menu but have yet to make an actual appearance if requested. What, I was curious... The cost seems a bit high to me as we have never left paying anything less than $110 for 2 or 3 people and a full bottle of wine. It seems a bit excessive and aggressive in the pricing. They recently changed the menus removing a few items but now only offer sushi after 4:00 pm. Do not go in any earlier and expect sushi, if you do the chef will bark swear words at you in Mandarine. Overall the food is good if you stick to sushi and get a good chef. I give them a 4 cuz I am a loyal customer but in all honesty, they most likely deserve 3.5. read more
