Rock and hip hop seem to predominate the space in this small shop. They also sell CDs and tapes. Follow them on Instagram @vinylsaurs. Located after downtown Covina, Kaos Records is in a large strip mall with what on a regular day would be plenty of parking. Once inside I found a good medium sized record store that specializes in 80s new wave and punk. There's lot of posters, clothing and other memorabilia here. On a regular day I'd be digging through the bins for sure. The signing was handled really well. The boys of the Alain Whyte band were super friendly and personable, which was part of the problem. Everyone wanted to chat them up while us latecomers were sweating it up outside lol. But once inside all the heat was forgotten. All the employees were super cool and kept us updated every step of the way. 40 years in business so they're definitely doing something right. I'll definitely be returning to check out what they have. There's a few holes in my collection I think they could definitely fill. Great store! Highly recommended!!!

For some reason the person on the phone was frustrated pretty quick. Once inside, the space was clean and spacious, but no music playing. Unfortunately, the selection felt pretty limited and not fully stocked, so there wasn't much to dig through this time. Cool shop overall, just not the vibe for me on this day.

In terms of their actual offerings, they have a lot of used vinyl, some of it is very rare. So, if you're looking for that really special something, you may very well be able to find it at this shop. They also have a lot of new vinyl. Some of it is of the older variety, and some of it is very new releases. So, whatever you're looking for, you should be able to find something here. In terms of their pricing, it's all very reasonable. Even the rare vintage vinyl they offer is priced very competitively in correlation with the modern market. This is the same with their new vinyl, their prices are very competitive. They also offer a few other items like some cassette tape and things like that. Thus, it is your one stop shop for when you want to grab that special piece of music. The staff here are all really nice. So if you need any help, they'll be happy to help you out. Overall, this is one of those dying breeds of shops, one that offers a grand selection of vinyl. Some cool record finds I came across for my music taste were Pop Smoke, Big Sean, Tame Impala, Kehlani, and Thee Sacred Souls. The records here are fairly priced and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I ended up copping the 75th Anniversary Sailor Moon vinyl for wifey since it was a record she had been chasing and one we do not see in the wild often.
