I LOVED the record storage setup with cardboard sleeves in plastic sleeves and openings facing upward. This organization made groove inspection really easy and I am a huge fan of the attention to detail and consistency throughout the shop. The alphabetical sorting was accurate and the soul section was well-stocked. Most of the records were priced fairly and I found a lot of records I have been searching for a long time. I bought out all the Blue Magic albums they had at the time and was able to find several ones that are not available on Spotify or Apple Music. My only comment is that I wish the used hip-hop section had less singles and more complete albums at reasonable prices. I will definitely return next time I'm in LA. The selection is outstanding and the prices fair! I got out of their with a "Anima" by Thom Yorke for only $20--and it's in great condition. They also have a listening station--which is sometimes hard to come by in record stores. When shopping for vinyl, it's important for me to check for scratches/pops/etc. and it's terrible to get home only to find that a used record has too many pops and you've paid $30 for it. At first glance it seems like a small shop with not that much selection but once you get into the actual digging you'll find there are a lot of hidden gems. A lot of mysterious albums with awesome artwork. The shop owner seems like a real music guy and is quiet and chill. Comfortable vibes inside. The only complaint is that I went in the evening and was not aware that the area has tons of mosquitos that attack your legs and feet, so when you are standing around browsing you're getting feasted on! Happy three years Arroyo! This is one of my favorite record stores in LA with plenty of street parking- it's the perfect sized store with tons of new and used 12s and 7s coming in daily - all genres! Used records are fairly graded and priced, neatly organized (alphabetically within each letter in the stacks) and there's a listening station to preview. Owner Danny and crew are super sweet, accommodating of diggers that spend several hours in the store and always ready with solid recommendations - don't forget to browse the staff picks! Excellent tunes, atmosphere, selection and customer service. Stopped by on my off day and came up lovely. Soul 45's were amazing. Caught some great promos and rates in great condition. Jazz section, new arrivals and Soul lp's were up to par and yielded some gems. I brought my portable just in case, but the do have a listening station. Park on the Main Street, if you can. I've ordered a record from this place through Instagram and everything went well! I just simply contacted the seller and paid through paypal. I got my tracking number and all and it went great! I've been coming to this record store for a while. I initially found Arroyo through instagram, and liked the selection so much that I came to visit the physical store. This is also the store where I have picked up some of my rarest records! Bins are always stocked with goodies and the selection is always fantastic, having something for everyone! If I could give it more than 5 star, I would have. This shop simply rocks, Dan is simply amazing, welcoming and wonderfully patient. His shop's selection is just fantastic. Every time I visit the shop I find some gem to buy. Dan provides a very well curated and personal shopping and (talking about music) experience, which in turn has widen my taste in music, what I have been exactly looking for. This store regularly stocks new and used classics and harder to find titles. The prices are fair and staff are friendly. Owner Danny has turned me on to some of my new favorite records. I have been in this new record store gem a few times since its opening, and left every time with a somewhat obscure holy grail. The pricing can be slightly higher than some other spots in the area (though certainly not always), especially on collectibles - but the curation and constant rotation makes it worth it. Danny's store is so great. Warm and welcoming energy, high quality used records and great prices. Sometimes I just buy something that looks good and honestly I'm never disappointed. I also bought a record that had a scratch through the most important song and he just let me trade it in for this RAD cyndi lauper record. I come in once a week, tell myself I will just buy one record, then leave with something amazing. For instance, the time I found the first pressing of London Calling and knew I had to have it. I really want to love this place since I live nearby and I realize it's new, but so far it's just slightly better than fair. Not a huge selection, but more importantly, prices for used records are 25-35% more than Permanent Records, which was formerly in this retail space. I'm hoping that the owner will figure out that he'll get a lot more regular customers and higher sales numbers if the overall prices come down. read more

I bought a record here when visiting the area. The record looked clean with no visible scratches or damage with a sleeve in good condition. The record was priced higher than average but I bought it because it was one of my favorite records and looked to be in good condition. When I got home I realized that the record inside wasn't even the record that goes with that sleeve, but another from the same band. I unfortunately didn't think to read the track list before buying because I just assumed they wouldn't mix up the albums. Worse yet, the record barely even plays with extreme amounts of static. Out of hundreds of records that I own, the condition of this one is one of the worst despite appearing in good condition. Be very careful buying records here. Examine them closely to make sure nothing is wrong before buying and remember the record may not play correctly when you take it home. If you live out of the area like me and are not close enough to go back to make a return, it is probably best to skip this store. read more
