I will start this review by noting that they have had ELEVEN BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU COMPLAINTS IN…read moreTHE LAST THREE YEARS! They "repaired" our transmission in 2023 for more than $6K. We had to be towed back because they failed to properly connect spark plug wires TWICE, which destroyed our catalytic converter! Fast forward and the transmission which is still under warranty has failed again. It has been another 6 weeks of being told they can't get a part. Then a week ago today they told us the part just now came in and our truck will be done by the end of the week. It was not. I called today and was told the exact same story-the part just now came in and our truck will be done by end of the week. When I ask to speak to the owner about this, I was hung up on, then they wouldn't answer the phone. Then when the owner finally did take my call he screamed at me for asking what part was ordered and demanded to know if I was a transmission expert since I wanted to know about parts. I asked because he kept telling us how hard it was to get a part. He then told me there were a lot of customers ahead of me, he didn't have an available lift to put our truck on, and was rude, demeaning and hateful, because I asked what part was ordered. He also told me that he has been in business for 40 years and doesn't need to look a car to diagnose transmission problems or know what parts to order. AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COSTS, unless you enjoy overpaying and waiting for weeks upon weeks to be lied to, yelled at, and pay thousands to pay someone else to fix what they "repaired" while paying even more money for a rental car while they hold yours hostage. I have filed complaints with BBB, the Florida Department of Agriculture, and The Florida Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the Attorney General.

I have a newly bought used Nissan and unfortunately my CVT transmission has 120,000 miles in it and…read moreit didn't shift the other day. So, I started doing my research, saw that they go for $4,000-$7,000 to get it rebuilt or exchanged and I am extremely nervous and concerned especially because I just bought the vehicle recently, so I am looking deeper into the process. After following a few companies to see which one is the best and most honorable, I saw that Richmond's Transmissions was getting sued for faulty work, along with many derogative reviews so I didn't bring my car there at all and wouldn't recommend anyone else, too. Upon reading other reviews of shops in Brevard County, finding a good transmissions specialist, with quality work and affordable pricing is like finding a needle in a haystack to say the least. Then upon further investigations, I found Allamatic Transmissions as one of the only expert specialists with substantially enough good reviews to convince me to have them work on my Nissan. Before taking my car to his shop I went to other local shops for diagnosis, and they wanted a minimum of $4000 to $7000 to rebuild my transmission. After speaking to Phil, it was obvious, I knew from his demeanor, knowledge of the field and empathetic expertise that choosing his shop was a well-educated decision that turned out successfully for me. I didn't know much about transmissions but now know that CVTs take time to fix and just how electronic they are, in addition to detailed work such as having a module to control its function that can cause shifting problems that was my case, a bad TCM, not 4K-7K. Phil clearly invested a lot in teaching me about what was wrong with my vehicle and very generously priced me as well as provided a quick, friendly service that is unbeatable. Phil was calm and reassured me all would be well, and it turned out so much more than I ever expected by him saving me thousands of dollars. Thank you so much for all your hard work, dedication and valuable ethics in fixing my transmission, for saving me money, time and my car is now very reliable finally helping me to avoid further potential mechanical dilemmas. I will always take my vehicles to Phil at Allamatic because he came highly recommended aside from my internet search and in person visits.

Phil is honest and extremely knowledgeable. Very reasonable price! I highly recommend!read more
