Then, we hear that one of the safety doors on the passenger side is not there, as it was jammed and had to be removed. We asked for a replacement unit, and we got a response back from your guide/receptionist: "This is all we got, and it's fine." It's a serious breach of safety. With some hesitation, we started trailing for 10-15 minutes, and at the first pit stop (at the obstacle course building), we were told that the right passenger tire is "flat." We requested your team to replace the tire, as it's not safe for us to ride with a flat tire. Response we got from your guides: "We don't have replacement tires." "We don't have replacement units." They recommended we ride with a flat tire (have evidence to prove) as the company doesn't have a backup unit and we were in the middle of the trail, and it's ok for the company if any damages incur directly or indirectly from the flat tire. After riding for a short time, the right side axle/tire got damaged from the traction created from the right side rear tire being flat. We were so disappointed that we had to share a ride with 2 units when we paid for 3 units in the middle of the course. From the start, we never went off trail or beyond tracks and followed rules and instructions from the beginning. A few days later, we got a bill for $1100 for repairs. No official receipt of repairs, just an email with 3 lines stating we will charge your credit card the above-mentioned amount. This is a whole rip-off company, with poorly maintained ATVs and a lack of professional support and risking your life. It will also charge you money for there defective equipment.

When I called to schedule the time the staff didn't seem super enthused that we wanted to come early but the process to get scheduled was quick and painless. We arrived (cell service is spotty in the area so have maps downloaded) to a very eerie gate that seemed to be on a sensor and opened when we pulled up. After going down a long windy road and parking on a dirt patch we arrived at check in. Process was quick and painless, the young adults that were there were still waking up for the day so now I see why they were hoping we wanted to come later in the day. We chose to do the ropes course so we got suited up and headed up to the course. There were a few lanes on the course closed but otherwise it was a great morning activity for me and my niece. If your in the area head over, the guide was great and the course was worth it!

The campsites had a small bundle of wood for a campfire and they were really well spaced out so you don't feel that you are right on top of the next site. The hot showers and restrooms were well maintained and really nice after falling in on our kayak excursion:) Thanks Shane

Strouds Run State Park is a gem, just a few miles from the City of Athens in southeastern Ohio…read more Lots of great trails around the lake and above on the many ridges throughout the park. Fairly large campground with spots that aren't too close together. Beach is typically dragged each morning in the summer and canoes, kayaks, and even motorized pontoon boats for rent. The motorized pontoon is blasphemy for those of us who have been going to the park since the 1970s, but they aren't so many that it is too loud or disruptive. There is one short trail that is accessible for all and there is a mix of pit and flush toilet facilities. There is no life guard at the beach but there is a safe and sizable enclosed playground for young ones.

First time camping in hocking hills and the site checked all the boxes i was looking for. Like the…read morewebsite says it is very close to the state park and is across the street from some adjacent hikes so driving wont be a hassle. The camp is smaller than you would imagine from the website but the majority of sites on the grounds give you the amenities you would need, there is potable water sites sprinkled through the grounds as well as outhouses for men and women across the sites. The main part i enjoyed was how few other campers i saw i have heard that the main state park campground can get crowded but palmerosa does not have that problem at all, when i arrived i was even given the opportunity to swap to a more preferred site upon seeing the options in person (although i cant say this is a ground rule). Speaking to that the staff was wonderful we met one nice gentleman who accommodated us with our questions and equipment and was all around helpful and friendly. Palmerosa also allows horses which i cant speak much to as i didnt do that but we saw one group with two horses and those horses looked happy and the people taking care of them looked satisfied. In my opinion palmerosa is the perfect spot for someone who wants tread the line on primitive camping while its out of the way and secluded but close enough to attractions and town for you to not be far from fun. We lucked out and visited when it wasn't too packed (get there early!). I don't think I would have enjoyed it quite as much with hoards of humans in the mix. This trail is easily accessed from the Hocking Hills visitors center and offers a short half mile and one mile loops. We loaded our two year on a hiking backpack and our four year old was able to manage the trail (keep a close eye- there are lots of narrow trailways). Every bit of the trail hosted incredible views- caves, waterfalls, mossy rocks, tunnels, etc. Just thinking about makes my heart rate drop. Cannot recommend this spot enough! PS: clean family-friendly bathrooms are available in the visitors center.

If u are going to tackle the more challenging trail, I suggest you wear something better than running shoe, because surface can be slippery, especially on the Grandma Gatewood trail and whispering cave trail Best time to come is during rainy season or after a big storm, because the water flows are higher. Otherwise you might just see a small trickle from the waterfalls.

Plenty of bridges and paved areas. You can really make your Hocking Hills experience as intense as you'd like. With features such as Old Man's Cave and a creek with several water falls, you do not want to miss this park. My personal favorite season to visit is autumn, watching the trees shed their colorful leaves. Gorgeous views, great photo ops, and fun for the whole family. Not to mention free parking.
