I ordered a to-go acai bowl. They put it in a smoothie cup. Okay, not the hugest deal, but then when I see 1 cut up strawberry, 6-7 blueberries and maybe a third of chopped up banana, the view kind of turned me off. Then I try the acai bowl/smoothie and its very milky tasting - they watered it down and skimped on the good stuff. I wouldn't recommend for the acai bowl. I might go back to try their juice or bubble tea. read more

A new bubble tea store on Steinway Street. This seems like a stand alone store instead of a franchise like Kungfu Tea or Quickly. Store hours posted on window are odd; it only shows Monday to Friday (not open on weekend?). Actually, I walked by both Saturday and Sunday and the shop is open on both days. Unfortunately, this shop will have a hard time staying afloat due to the lack of people traffic passing by, and even Caffe Bene across the street has been struggling to attract customers. They are not advertising any grand opening promotion so there is certainly little incentive to try out this new shop. read more

Uncle Drink is conveniently located by Blink, iLoveKickboxing and the UFC gyms. They have a wide array of juices, bubble teas and smoothies. To use a credit/debit they have a $4 minimum purchase. I came here at 7:30 in the morning for a wheatgrass shot and the young man who was working there told me that I would have to come back in 10 minutes because their machines were not set up yet. I was slightly dumbfounded as the signage says they open at 7am. Why wouldn't your machines be up and running by 7:30? I was bummed as I wanted a wheatgrass shot before my kickboxing class. Also, if you come in the later evening they may run out of certain ingredients so you have to change your choice of beverage. Nonetheless the location is clean. The drinks are good and the price point is comparable to others in the neighbourhood. I will come again just not at 7:30am. read more

I've tried so many Taro slushes from franchise stores, and this has got to be the best taro slush I've had. I'm so serious! It's not to sweet, it's thick and cheap for a size large. They also put so much tapioca. I haven't tried their other teas, but I gotta tell you the taro slush is awesome. My go to drink from Uncle Drink. read more

I would say that they had quick, efficient service. However, I ordered a Mango smoothie and within 20 minutes of getting it, it melted and turned into a juice. I would next time hope that the rate of melting matched more with the rate of consumption. Although my order was not well executed, my friend's order was absolutely wonderful. Been here several times since they opened. Really great smoothies and juices. My only complaint is I've often stopped by the store at 8:00am (the sign says the open at 8) and find they're not open yet. Today I stopped by at 8:20-still not open, so I settled for a juice from Steinway market. There's a lot of competition in this neighborhood, they may lose out if they can't open on time. read more

I'm obsessed with this place. They have all natural juices/smoothies and they're great for post-workouts or on a daily basis. Their bubble teas are amazing. I love the Thai Iced Tea with boba. Actually they had a grand opening promotion in which I participated. It was a bogo offer thought it ended as of April 18. Their drinks are reasonably priced and quite delicious. I like the bubble tea, no complaints. Not a fan of the juices. I ordered a apple, lemon and kale juice and it was basically apple and lemon juice. There was virtually no Kale in the drink. Hey there, I was passing through yesterday and thought I'd check this place out. Even before I could look at the menu I could sense some attitude from 'the skinny Asian guy at the counter' as fellow Yelper N D., describes him. I'm pretty sure we are talking about the same person as with Daphne M's review. It's nice to welcome customers and give them a moment to look at the menu. Its a small place and knowing where to order is not a mystery, let us come up to the counter when we are ready instead of asking us what we want in such an abrupt way. I ordered a medium energy junior, took the first sip, straight up it tasted so watered down. I didn't want to go back in but a whopping $8.xx warranted feedback. The counter guy was pretty defensive as I mentioned it tasted of mostly water as he explained that that was the cucumbers and an orange, I didn't taste the orange and he says it's only half an orange. He did say no water was added which they have clearly written on their menu; no added water or sugar so I take his word for it. There were a ton of green ingredients listed for this drink, unfortunately it didn't look or taste like it made it in there. He suggested to get the Mr. Green or Supergreen if I wanted a green drink. The drink I ordered has kale and spinach, perhaps put more of that instead of cucumber which is inexpensive. Don't do business that way. Try to make things better, remake the drink or offer another one on the house. The irony when I walked in I noticed the help wanted sign with first qualification listed as 'good attitude.' That made me feel good walking in Uncle Drink but I left with Uncle Stink. read more

I really enjoyed their coconut milk tea and their thai tea is good too. The jasmine tea doesn't have as much flavor as the other two mentioned above but it isn't bad. The only issue that I have with their business is that they supposedly do not have a lost and found for people who turn in items that other customers accidentally left. I believe I left a bag sitting on a table with some of my item while I was waiting for my tea, which is my fault. Nevertheless, when I asked, the young lady working there if they had a lost and found she said that "they didn't have one" I will try asking the young man next time that I am there because I am not sure if she is new or not. I don't tend to write reviews, but I wish them well since I like their teas. I am sure that if they survive that the business will expand, like some of the more well known bubble tea places in chinatown. read more

I'm giving Uncle Drink three stars for their juices but the bubble tea needs a lot of improvement. The flavor I tried (thai tea) tasted mostly like milk; there was definitely something missing because I've had this bubble tea many times from other places.
