Mr Buncha will always be my go-to boba shop. I first discovered this place in 2021--when they first opened. I've been going ever since. The workers are always friendly every time I go. The shop itself is very cute, clean but kind of small to be in. After purchasing a drink, they give you a stamp card. After a couple of purchases you eventually get a free drink--any size. Although Mr Buncha is a small establishment, they have a pretty extensive menu; offering rice bowls, Baos, buns, wraps, soups, salads, noodle soups, burgers and various appetizers! And don't forget the large selection of teas, juices and coffee beverages! Most people order takeout since there are only 2 small tables which seat 2. Everything is made to order, so you're guaranteed fresh beverages and food! On a random Wednesday evening, we ordered a couple of bowls and beverages. Service was impressively fast, considering it's made to order! We ordered two combo rice bowls & beverages: -- Beef Bulgogi Rice Bowl plus Black Milk Tea ($19.75): this bowl was fantastic! Fresh ingredients; well balanced and flavorful. The milk tea was good also; smooth, strong tea flavor. I would get this combo again! -- Crispy Chicken Rice Bowl plus Mango Milk with boba ($20.25): my 11 yr old niece ordered this and devoured it! lol She's been to Mr Buncha a few times, and this is her fave meal combo there. Menu has definitely expanded since I've been back here. Was sad I was so full from Thai food that I couldn't try one of their treats. The passion fruit tea was amazing. Boba was on the smaller side but not mad about it. Was able to get something with 17 min to spare of them closing so I appreciate them being nice about me coming in so late. This place is easily my favorite boba spot in Sunnyside. It's a tiny spot right by a Chip City just to the side of QueensBlvd. My two go-gos are Strawberry milk tea (pictured) and BrownSugar which are both equally fantastic here. Sometimes they do add too much boba in the drinks so make sure to ask for a little bit if you only want a little bit. The folks working there have always been very nice and cool. It'll continue to be my fav boba joint in Sunnyside! Note--you can order some food here but there are no bathrooms. read more

Firstly let me say the food was tasty and mostly fresh! The sauce on the breaded chicken was great and complimented it really well. Just a couple of notes - the chicken cutlet itself was very thin, no sort of dressing for the salad it comes with and the steamed pork buns didn't really seem to have been in house made. I also happened to leave in the note no tomatoes, and luckily I'm not allergic as there were tomatoes in the salad. I've been here for their non caffeinated drinks and one of their food items which are the bao buns. Their drinks are really good and are packaged in a cute container. Finally got a chance to be a customer. Make sure you have time to wait since the food is made to order. It took about 10 minutes or so. The folks are very welcoming and friendly. If you don't know what to order, they will offer their suggestion. I ordered - Pinksky ($5.25 medium): Fresh milk, Strawberry smash, Butterfly pea, topped with cheesefoam. - Buncha Bao ($8 for 2 baos): Steamed buns, Marinated pork, Iceberg lettuce, Cucumber, Scallion, Hoy-sin sauce, Mayo sauce. - Grilled Chicken Bao ($8 for 2 baos): Steamed buns, Grilled marinated chicken, Mixed green, Cucumber, Pickle, Scallion, Peanut sauce, Crushed peanut. The latest thing is to have you shake or mix the drink for the final result. It started as a purple and pink drink and after mixing it's a pink drink. It was ok to me. I loved the Buncha bao since the flavors enhanced each other. Meanwhile I felt the peanut sauce overpowered the grilled chicken bao. Go give it a try and see what you think. read more

Mr. Buncha is cute little pink shop billing itself as a "Bun and Milk Tea Bar". They have a variety of snacks and freshly made milk teas - looking over the menu I was impressed with the quantity of items this tiny space can produce. The day I stopped in was a hot summer day looking for a post meal drink. Stepping inside I noticed the distinctive and beautiful Thai Buddhist display overlooking the store which gave me confidence to order the Thai Iced Coffee. I generally avoid coffee in Boba tea shops - its usually an afterthought, but I must say this one was so balanced and delicious without being too sweet that it truly hit the spot for me. So good. I also tasted the attractive looking Butterfly Pea Fresh Milk and it was as tasty as it was beautifully colored. This is a nice small restaurant which has a nice mom and pop vibe. It has 2 tables inside which can fit 2 people at each table and there's a bench to sit and wait for your food. My wife got the matcha strawberry with a Buncha noodle soup and a chic chic (aka chicken pop). I got the salmon bowl with the side of soup. The matcha strawberry was very refreshing. The Buncha noodle soup was very filling. It comes with pork, bok choy, mushrooms, noodles and broth. The chic chic was a lot bigger than expected from the picture the restaurant had on the wall. It was very flavorful. Lastly, the salmon bowl had a good mix of vegetables. It came with salmon, avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes, salad and rice. I would say each dish we got, we would get again. Mr. Buncha, literally right across the street from the 7 train Lowery exit. Less than 1/2 way up the block of 40th Street. This is my go to boba stop when I am craving a drink because its so convenient to get to. I normally get their Buncha Milk tea or Thai milk tea with boba added, almond milk with a little bit of ice. What makes this place different from other boba shops is that they offer Bao Buns, soup, appetizers, plus more. I didn't know what they were about and we were in a hurry, so I got a look at their menu and they told me it would take about 8-10 minutes to get the food ready I said I'd come back. And I did. And I'm SO GLAD I did! We have ordered so many Crispy Tofu Buns because they are fantastic. The sauces on top of the tofu with the crisp greens and pickled veggies are a fantastic combination. I would highly recommend, even for people that aren't necessarily vegetarian. In terms of the tea, I've had the Buncha Milky Milyky, the Brown Sugar Milk, and the Mango Fresh Milk. My husband tends to love the Mango Fresh Milk, so it's a winner, but for me, I prefer the Buncha Milky Milyky. I enjoy the combo of the cheese foam with the brown sugar in this one. I ordered the crispy fish bun and crispy tofu buns, and they were so delicious. They have a different combination of sauces for each bun and they work with well. Really really good bao buns, I tried the ebi (tempura shrimp) and avocado and they were delicious, all the ingredients were fresh and fit together perfectly. They come in pairs of 2 and I'd say that's a pretty good portion for a quick lunch, though we were quite hungry and had 3 buns each and I'm stuffed. Also got a Thai Iced tea with almond milk, less sweet and it was perfect as well. All in all a great place to stop in whether you want boba, milk tea, or a bun for lunch. I recently went to Mr.Buncha and ordered a signature black milk tea with boba and cheese foam on top, keeping the sugar and ice level regular. The first sip and another sip until I finished a whole cup of boba tea, the tea was amazing. It was strong, but not too strong, and was sweet but not too sweet. I like it. Especially, the boba was really good. The small tiny little black balls in the drink were chewy and had a taste of delicious brown sugar. The cheese foam on the top was rich and creamy. Overall, the tea was strong enough, the boba and the cheese foam completed the whole thing and brought the flavors together. Mr.Buncha is one of the best boba tea I have ever tasted.
