I said "sure," so he opened the box and it looked and smelled beautiful! The food is good but the customer service is lacking. I've ordered from here a handful times. Three times ordering through Yelp and once in person. All of the orders through Yelp were different than what we ordered. Two occasions with wrong toppings and the third missing items. I called in the first time because we had ordered a calzone with additional toppings and only received cheese. Gino himself told me to keep that one and come by for a replacement. When I arrived he kept insinuating that I was lying about the missing toppings to try to get a free calzone but that he would just have to take my word. And not in a funny, messing with you kind of way. Sarcasm is my love language and this guy was actually suggesting that I was lying about a damn calzone. Needless to say the next two orders we just cut our losses. Fast forward to today...I was running late to an appt and in a pinch for dinner for my kiddos and I decide to try my luck with Uncle Gino's again but I figured I would call in the order. It took about 30 min for the food to be ready, so it didn't help my time crunch at all but the bigger issue was that I was overcharged. I noticed it on my receipt and asked why it showed a charge for 8.27 for two slices. He denied charging me for two slices, saying that was from the previous order despite the receipt showing the charge. With one hand balancing the stack of boxes, the other hand holding on to my two 3 year olds, and racing the clock to a meeting I didn't have the time or bandwidth to argue with a brick wall over $8. I've been to many pizza places, and this one is definitely my favorite place to get pizza at, and the best ever. The pizza always looks visually delicious every time I get one here every other week; I always get cheese + sausage on my pizza, and it always tastes so good. I love the people here, too. My boyfriend and I moved here a couple of years ago and we have been searching for some tasty pizza - to make it our "go to pizza joint" and we FINALLY FOUND IT! This is is it! THE PIZZA WAS AMAZING! Ok I'm not reviewing the pizza because I did not order that and I will give them another chance and try the pizza because it looks good. I ordered 2 sandwiches and the Antipasto salad. The salad was good. It's always my go to at an Italian restaurant and theirs is good. Quality meat and cheese and lettuce all the way. My issue is with the sandwiches. Again quality bread very good. The issue is that's all the sandwiches were is good bread and the vegetables you ordered for the sandwich. Sooooo weak on the meat. If you've ever made a sandwich with Oscar Meyer meat and thrown two slices on that's what it was. Not Oscar Meyer but virtually no meat. It's a shame because everything else was awesome all the veggies and everything. It just felt like eating an Italian veggie sandwich with a bit of meat in the middle just a little. The pizza place was about 30 minutes away and it took about 45 minutes for the pizzas to cook (which was fine; it was a busy Friday night). They both looked good and we took them home. After sitting down to dinner, I realized that I was given 2 vegan pizzas. My wife enjoyed her vegan pizza (5-stars), but for me, receiving a pizza with vegan cheese (when you expect the real-deal, salty, stringy, cooked to perfection mozzarella) is soul-crushingly disappointing. On Sunday April 30. About 11am. My girl friend ordered 6 vegan sandwiches 3 meatballs 3 Italian sausage with cheese on the phone. The Regular price $15.99 each. We've ordered a few times from this place before. We enjoyed the pizzas n vegan sandwiches here. These vegan sandwiches were for a birthday party. My girl friend asked for the price. But the man on the phone wouldn't give us a price. He said he was too busy.( rude attitude). Her daughter Kayla the birthday girl went to pick up the vegan sandwiches. She notice the sandwiches were $30.00 each. She also noticed that the sandwiches were a lot more smaller. She asked the older man behind the counter why were they so much. He said because the cheese they bought cost them $150.00. So that's reason he charged $30.00 per sandwich. This pizza place intentionally ripped us off. I can understand charging a few more dollars. But instead they charged us $30.00 per vegan sandwich. Mind u regular price was $15.99 each. We made several calls to the pizza place . Another successful family dinner ordered last night! Ordered 3 large pizzas: the works, Margherita and Hawaiian; 2 garlic breads, 2 garlic cheesy breads, a garden and antipasto salad. Garlic breads and Margherita were very well toasted, but our fam doesn't mind this, gives it that rustic char flavor to balance all the goodness. Horrible experience here, and the food was so unappetizing we didn't even eat it... (see pictures) We ordered online at 5:12 on a Friday for takeout. This business uses Slice to handle their online orders. Received a confirmation email saying order would be ready at 5:45. Got to restaurant at 5:45 and the employee said they didn't have our order. I showed him the receipt, and he rudely told me I'm there way too early. I said, oh I'm here at 5:45 because I received an email saying it would be ready at 5:45. He continued to say they are very busy and I'm here too early. Then another employee comes up and looks at the receipt, says he already made the pizza, but not the rest of our order (we ordered 4 items: a half cheese/half meat pizza, cheese bread, Italian sub, and cheese bread). I said ok I can wait for it, it's fine. So I sat and waited. I noticed they had a lot of orders, so I figured I'd be patient but it really seemed like they couldn't handle the business. At 6:15 they had more customers coming in the door and the employees were yelling at each other, arguing, so I decided to text my wife to try and get a refund through Slice. Slice called the business and I overheard their employee say they gave me my order already... which wasn't true. I asked their employee about it and they said it was almost done. Then at 6:25 employee hands me the Pizza and the sub, nothing else and says here we're done... I asked where the other two items were and he says to me "what? You ordered more???" I showed him the receipt, AGAIN. He proceeds to tell me it'll only take 1 minute to finish. 5 minutes later he hands me my cheese bread and says good bye. I asked, we still don't have the meat balls... and he says "what? You ordered meat balls too???" And at that point I just said, never mind, I'm leaving... and I left at 6:30.... Slice has told us a supervisor would call during regular business hours, but because the business said they will not issue a discount or refund, they couldn't do it on their end without a supervisor approval. Slice told us the employee said they gave us everything, and they refused to refund us or discount because I "was there too early." We didn't eat the food. Take a look at the pictures. The pizza was clearly over done and wasn't made how we ordered it (half-half). The cheese bread was just a small amount of cheese on bread... the sub was soggy and clearly thrown together with aggression. The staff is rude. The place has no A/C so the employees are all sweating profusely. The food is bad. Don't go here. Edit: it was uncle Gino himself who was rude to me, and would not issue a discount or refund. My son told me to try Uncle Gino's Pizza. He said it was family owned and it was Old School Pizza meaning the kind of Pizza we had before the fast food chains and he was RIGHT ON. I ordered the Margerita Pizza because I try to stay away from tomatoes and I can just pick them off the top and I don't have to deal with the tomato sauce.
