We went here because a local suggested it when we were in town. We loved the food. It was so good! We got the lasagna for half the price on one of their special weekdays. We also got the salad and of course a deep dish pizza. 1/2 of veggie 1/2 meat lovers, both delicious! The garlic bread is really good as well. Rosati's is a Chicago inspired pizza chain, which comes pretty close to the real thing. Since we raised our family on north-shore, near Rosati's home base of Barrington, we were very familiar with the original location and family. The atmosphere here is like a old Chicago tavern inside. Lots of Chicago posters and memorabilia. Half expected Old Milwaukee beer would be on tap. Mind you, their deep dish isn't like Lou's butter crust or Giordano's, but we did enjoy their thin pizza just the same. Rosati's offers a HH menu and their regular menu has a lot of familiar items, such as their Italian Beef and Red Hot Vienna Beef. Service can be slow, with the servers working double duty at the Take-Out window. But we weren't in any rush. However, we did need to flag 'em down a few times. No biggie. The wings were a perfect match of crispy and slightly overcooked, just the way we like them. Don't skip the ranch either and it was surprisingly good! My husband grew up in Chicago so he's a bit picky about his deep dish. Another favorite there is their Pizza Puffs!!! A must try! The only place I k ow that sells them in SoCal. Love their beer nuggets and their dessert version too. The dining area is a little limited but a lot of locals grab their orders to go. There's also a bar area but I haven't been on that side yet. Great service by Crystal made the evening more special! She was friendly, attentive and reliable the whole night. The wing special was fantastic with the mango habanero being the best. This was our co-workers fist time trying Chicago style pizza and she said she would definitely be back. What I found: Horrible attempt at making the crust for such a good style pizza. Salad was about as watered down as the ranch. Good isn't made at the correct time as one plate was obviously sitting for a while waiting on the other. Chicago style pizza takes more than 20 min to make....this being why it was softer than the owners feelings. Service: I was impressed they were great! My beer was cold, water kept flowing (maybe from the salad), but to be honest great! I recently got back from a trip to Chicago and was having pizza withdrawals. I decided to give this place a try and was very pleased. The ambiance definitely gave me Chicago vibes and the pizza was tasty! I can tell they use high quality cheese and the dough was a perfect consistency. Nothing beats Chicago pizza but this place got very close. We also ordered the pistachio cannolis and they were just ok for me. Now on to the service. You can get the traditional or for an additional cost you can upgrade your favorite specialty pizza to a deep dish so that's awesome! I can understand that charge for meat or extra cheese, but $4.15 for jalapeño or olives? I sat at the bar to be able to watch the Padre game. The service was excellent and the other customers were very friendly. They were regulars, so that is a good indication of the place.
