    Cakes anyone?

OMG!!! Being from California, I was on sensory overload. It is truly unbelievable the variety of Italian food here. They make their own everything here including mozzarella cheese, pastries, hot foods, salads, etc. For my first trip, I got the chicken francaise dinner, broccoli rabe, marinated artichoke with sun dried tomatoes and marinated mushrooms. Got some bottles of water, still and sparkling as well. On a second trip I tried out sweets. The rice cakes thing with drizzled chocolate was crispy and perfect with the not too sweet chocolate. I gotta bring some of these home!! The lobster tail, which is hubby's favorite, was okay. It has a cannoli filling versus custard. Looks like they have them but were sold out. I also got a cannoli and it didn't do anything for me. Everyone is very gracious in providing samples. It's my friend's thing which works in my favor because the cheese guy let us have generous samples of a few of their cheeses. We sampled the raspberry ruglach, pignoli and something from the deli. I loved the pignoli, always do. The crisp outside, chewy inside and pine nuts! However, $29.99 per pound is outrageous! Uncle Giuseppe's is clearly dedicated to quality and customer service. I can only wish for a store that would come close to this. How lucky to have this store in St. James!

I work for a non profit, and a generous donor wanted to donate dinner to the group home I work at for the staff and kids for thanksgiving. Meatballs, stuffed shells, seafood pasta and roasted veggies was donated to us. It was so delicious and the servings of both half and full trays were very generous. My favorite was the seafood pasta! Generous portions of shrimp, mussels, clams, crab, and scallops! Delicious flavor all throughout! A delicious and filling meal all around. Everything tasted like it was cooked with a lot of love. 5+ stars all the way.

A collection of delectable pasta, eggplant rolatini, and marinara sauce.

A trip to Whole Foods offers a familiar and reliable bounty: aisles of health-conscious products,…read morevibrant organic produce, and an impressive range of prepared foods like pizza, sushi, and a sprawling salad bar. However, the premium quality comes with an equally premium price tag, a reality that has persisted, and perhaps even intensified, since its acquisition by Amazon. For the savvy shopper, there are still ways to navigate the costs. Keen attention to pricing, coupled with strategic use of Amazon Prime discounts and in-store sales, can help balance the ledger. Ultimately, the store's unique draw lies in its exclusive selection; there are certain specialty items you simply won't find anywhere else, making it a necessary stop for certain needs. Our family has found a practical rhythm: we always begin our shopping at the Trader Joe's across the street. After surveying their selection and prices, we then visit Whole Foods for those few, special items we can't get elsewhere. This approach makes the added effort, and expense, feel worthwhile. Despite the undeniable cost, shopping at the Lake Grove location remains a valuable way to support and enrich a healthy lifestyle, especially for those living on Long Island's East End. It's a curated experience, one where careful planning can turn a luxury stop into a sustainable part of your routine.
