Why does the deli have the numbers to take when they never use them and why is there a sign in the store that says no marijuana smoking is that usually a problem inside the store and sometimes the quiche's look like they were a third grader science project gone wrong Who does quality control and what are they doing? It pains me to leave such a review but none the less, here I go. I walk into my local meat farms to see my favorite vegetable on sale. Cucumbers!! I do what any other civilian would do and I grabbed at least 6. I come home to make my famous cucumber chive cream cheese salad and I am fronted with the unfortunality of sour cucumbers. Every. Single. One. Now when I see anything on sale at meat farms I second guess myself. I guess the moral of the story is. Be aware of veggies that are on sale bc something is most likely wrong. Since I was already out east I wanted to check out this Meat Farm. As soon as you walked thru the door they had paper towels stacked up, that was already a good thing. They also had plenty of meat, fresh fruit and vegetables. Everyone in the store was very helpful and friendly. I had a very pleasant shopping experience there and I will definitely revisit that spot when I'm in the area. read more

I live in Bohemia. I go to giunta's alot. They have a great fruit selection. The meat especially the chicken is hit and miss. I bought ground chicken today 2/6 that had an exp. date of 2/12. I opened in and it already turned. This is not the first time this has happened. I always dig towards the back. Sadly I open a corner of chicken before I buy it. Honestly? It's not my favorite grocery store. It's good for fresh meat, but everything else tends to be too expensive and cheaper at other local supermarkets. What it does have going for it is that it's clean and often nowhere near as busy as Stop N Shop, so to pick up just a few things when I'm already in the area, makes it convenient. I will say, I was terribly disappointed that their deli department would not make individual heroes, sandwiches or wraps. I was hoping to pick up a quick dinner for me and my family and we were in the mood for sandwiches, but they wouldn't do it. I was told they only do party-size heroes. Overall it's middle of the road. I wouldn't avoid it, but I rarely rush there either. read more

Best produce in the area, the fresh ravioli are great, the butcher prices and quality have never disappointed me and the deli counter is top notch in my opinion. I really enjoy the store brand spices too, they are delicious and priced very well. The freshly baked bread is delicious, I usually get it while it's still warm from the oven. The store is always clean, the staff is always friendly and the music is always entertaining and appropriate for all ages. The catering that we've ordered has always been priced right, great quality, ready on time and they've always been pleasant to deal with. I've never come across any bad produce, there is always someone in that section working. The butcher area never disappoints either, never see anything that has been packed more than 2 days prior, i get there early and they're freshly grinding the meats. I love that the meat department has yet to disappoint me here. Not only are there extensive options but I always seem to find what I go in looking for like a boneless pork butt for pulled pork. We also love that you can buy cannoli shells (regular and chocolate dipped) with fresh cannoli filling separately and fill at your leisure. That's always a fun activity to do with the kids. The marinara sauce is a great alternative to those days you just don't have any left and are in a bind. It worked perfectly for our homemade pizzas. read more

Friendly staff here. Large produce section. Great meats. I would go for those two things. Items down the aisles may be more compared to other local stores of. It on sale. We like this grocery store for when we want speciality cuts of meat and fresh fruits and veggies. We always come here for our pork for pulled pork. We don't really go into the other aisles but they have the staples if we need something in a pinch. read more

I like the store, I just find it SUPER ANNOYING that the cashiers are always on their phones whenever I go to check out. It makes the customer feel as if they are bothering or interrupting the cashier. Which should not be the case. The deli,s salads are so bad they are not edible. I bought the egg salad and it tasted so badly it was thrown in the garbage after one bite. Also the macaroni salad tasted like vinegar the seafood salad was awful and the antipasto has three inch chunks of meat that tasted old. Every one tasted bad. I should have returned them. read more

WOW, I overheard the Deli Clerk complain that there was no SOAP and NO HOT WATER to wash his hands behind the counter! Yuk Thankfully that clerk went to the men's room to wash. Produce is great. Fair prices. Love the selection of arizona canned iced teas. They have some flavors other supermatkets dont carry. Only issue i had was the sweet thin italian sausage in meat dept. The prices of the fresh and local produce here is giving my beloved Best Yet a run for its money, and the management seems visibly invested in the customer shopping experience. For instance, I called ahead last night to see if they carried a new type of egg noodles, and the manager said they did, and set it aside for me as promised. However, when I went to the store, it wasn't the one on sale since he'd grabbed the wrong brand! Nonetheless, he gave me the better brand for an even better price to apologize for my coming down. That's great service! The veggies get pulled from the bins at night and redisplayed in the morning, and there's always plenty. I can't get over how cheap the produce is, even the unadvertised specials and everyday prices ($1.50 or less for a box of mushrooms, standard; $2.50 for delicious Uncle Vinnie's curly spinach; $5.99 for a HUGE, commercial sized bag of mesclun greens). They carry a lot of hard-to-find stuff (fresh shittake mushrooms! Sugar snap peas! Mexican cheeses!) as well as an impressive selection of imported Italian goods. There's always fresh pasta and fresh ravioli in the deli case, and they're expanding on their baked goods. For a place that has "meat" in the name, you'd expect the butcher to be cheaper, but it's meh. Also, they keep touting the pork chops as corn-fed, which confuses me, because that means it's NOT premium-fed pork. Yes, the deli isn't the fastest, but what deli is? One guy in particular was super slow (15 minutes in an empty deli for 6 slices of prosciutto that ended up being cut way too thick), and the packaging sucks since the bags aren't Ziplocked, but I disagree that this detracts from the overall quality of the entire clean, albeit no-frills store. It goes a bit beyond basic and wows me with the fresh produce, so I have no material complaints. Count me as a fan! read more

How can this location only have 3 stars? Bohemia is awesome. Staff is friendly & helpful. Produce & Meats are great quality and the butcher & staff are very accomodating. There is ALWAYS a line at the deli counter. If you point out a particular product that runs out faster than it's competion they seem to adjust the order because they stop running out of it. They may not be the cheapest store in the area but they definitely offer the best overall value. read more

I have visited Guinta's Meat Farms on several occasions. From a positive side the staff if very friendly, the deli has great items and sales and the produce is always fresh. One thing to look out for though is their advertising and especially one of their managers by the name of Brian. This week the chain had a sale on for DelMonte vegetables at 10 for $5.00. I was in the store this past Sunday and saw the signs posted all over the DelMonte displays. I particularly like the zucchini and went to purchase 10 cans. When I went to the register it rang up the regular price of $1.79 per can. The cashier called over the manager, Brian, and he said that zucchini was not included in the sale. I told him there was a sign posted right under it with the sales price of 10 for $5. We went to the display and he snatched up all of the signs from the displays and again stated that zucchini was not included. He did not even say he was sorry for the signs misleading the customers. Usually one would think that they would honor what the signs said but as stated he would not nor offer the apology for the misunderstanding. I sent an email to Guinta Meat Farms and never received a reply. Today I needed something and was passing the store. I went in and went over to the display. The signs were back with a new sign under the zucchini stating that zucchini was not part of the sale. That should have been there from the start. I wonder if management got on the store's case and forced them to put up that particular sign along with the others. I can understand the mistake but not the way I was spoken to and treated by this manager. It took me a while to go in this store being a Best Market customer and will now return most of my business back to Best Market where EVERYONE there treats you like a valued customer, from box boys to management. read more

terrible experience at Meat Farms, at approximately 3PM on Sunday January 10, 2016. I very rarely write a review unless an experience is very good or very bad. I gave one star because today was a "bad" experience. I consider the store in general because of value rather than exceptional quality. Today I understand that inexpensive does not necessarily translate into value. I had just finished retrieving some groceries from the store and stopped at the deli counter to pick up some cold cuts, The young man who was helping me was apparently new and am not holding him responsible for how the store conducts their business. I had ordered a few items and had one more to complete my order. They had a sign stating that Poly-o slicing mozzarella was on sale for $3.99 per pound. I asked the deli person how much was the fresh slicing mozzarella of another brand and was informed that it was $5.99 per pound. I was going to use it for cooking and decided the poly-o was a better value. I requested a half a pound of the poly-o. The new clerk couldn't find the poly-o and asked another clerk where it was. I overheard him say "just give him this" which I knew was not poly-0. I asked what cheese he was giving me and he said "poly-o". when I pressed him further he said "well it's the same as poly-o" Both clerks then told me that it was store policy to change a product on their own, I asked to speak to a manager and was first informed that "the manager had just left the store". I asked "who was in charge? I was then directed to a short male white about 5'5" tall approximately 55-60 years of age with grey hair. I explained to him what had happened and he was less than accommodating as well as non-remorseful for the policy. I informed the "manager" that this was a bad policy and was dishonest. I purchased a pound of proscuitto and I know it has to be separated by paper but 20 sheets of paper ?? When I asked the clerk if they allowed for this she said no. She explained the tare would only be about an ounce. The deli manager also told me no and asked if I wanted it piled on top of each other with no paper. Very rude ! I weighed the paper when I got home and it was 4 oz. Therefore, I paid $14.99 for paper. NYS Dept. of Ag. and Mkts. will hear from me. I have been shopping here for a few years and now I will never step foot back in that store. read more
