I would describe that as a fancy Mexican restaurant I like the food and the environment! I would recommend

First let me say I consider myself a snob when it comes to authentic Mexican food. So I was skeptical when we first went. However, from start to finish this place is AMAZING. The ambiance and interior are beautiful and well done. The food was spectacular, super fresh and flavorful. Not just typical rice & beans like most so called Mexican restaurants. Had lunch here today and elected to sit outside. They have nice outside seating with fire and umbrellas, but they had us sit directly in the sun instead of in the shade. I liked the smoky salsa, but my other two friends did not care for it. The food was okay, but I expected more flavor for the price we paid. I also did not like the electronic bill/payment as I am a cash person. I left the cash with electric bill which appeared to work fine. read more

I'm visiting from San Diego where Mexican food can be found in plentiful numbers, but the food at this restaurant is a cut ABOVE any Mexican restaurant I've frequented at home (and I've been to the majority of them). I had a Grand Swirl drink (yummy) with the shrimp tacos and the rice on that plate--I could make a meal of just that! The good is excellent and as fresh as advertised. There was a little wait (but not as long as they projected) and the service (we had Susan) was efficient and pleasant. It was well worth the wait, the drive there, and the cost of the meal. SECOND VISIT: We went for early dinner on a Wednesday afternoon. This time Maria was our server and I again had the Grand Swirl (just as yummy the second time). The tamales almost made me weep from nostalgia of having them in my childhood (from a truck vendor in another state). PERFECTION! The Julianna Platter was excellent as was the steak fajitas. We got fried ice cream for dessert, but I didn't care for it as much, maybe because it was covered in coconut and I was expecting the cinnamon-sugared flour tortilla (I wish that the customer had a choice!between the two as I've found that people who like coconut are a smaller part of the population). We were greeted and seated right away. Service was amazing. We ordered the Grapefruit Margarita and it was amazing. We also ordered the strawberry and mango passion lemonades and they were really good. Now we ordered the Tex Mex Combo, Kidsadilla and chicken tenders from the kids menu. The tortillas were either undercooked or tasted weird, the meat had no flavor. It was our first time there and we will not be back. This taste nothing like Mexican food at all. Went here for dinner with my family on a Friday night. We wanted to try a new place and hadn't heard much about julio's. We had amazing drinks and great food. Onion and cheese enchiladas were a table favorite. unfortunately we had bad table service. As to my surprise, we waiting over 20 minutes to get a drink refill. We saw our waitress sweeping outside while we waited and stared at her. Great place just wish we had better service. read more

We were glad to see there were clear partitions between the booths so we felt pretty safe eating here. The ambiance was nice. The guacamole and chips were great and we really enjoyed the Guadalajara platter. We are pretty picky about margaritas and we loved the El Jefe and Tres Amigos margaritas. Amazing! We decided to come here since I was craving Mexican food and the food did not disappoint! We went around 2:30 on a Saturday and the place was completely packed with a 20 minute wait. As we were waiting there was a pretty continuous line out the door of people coming in and shortly turned into a 40 minute wait for those people. About 30 minutes from when we came in, we finally got seated. The service was exceptional and a gentleman (possible owner?) came through and offered to comp an appetizer for the wait. We ended up getting the ceviche and it was delicious. The homemade salsa kept us coming back for more and more. The drinks were fresh and homemade and the steak fajitas I got had some of the best steak I've ever had! Very tender and juicy! The price was a little high but for the homemade taste it was well worth it! We will be coming back! read more

Just average. The menu doesn't have anything out of the ordinary and it is comparatively high priced for what you get. I would stay away from the chain and go authentic. The metro area has some better valued places for comparable food. read more

Visited: 4/26/19 @ 11:40 AM Reason: Business Lunch Today a few of my business colleagues decided to give the new Uncle Julio's a try. Knowing this is our lunch break we decided to leave a bit earlier to avoid the lunch rush. Unfortunately we did not beat any rush and were greeted with a full restaurant loaded with lunch patrons. We were seated in a lovely section of the restaurant and greeted by Dianne, our server. She was an amazing server and truly made our experience outstanding. The chips and salsa were just okay. Chips were very very thin and would crumble and the salsa, yet very fresh and tasty, was very thin and dripped everywhere. I think there is some room for improvement here. As for our entrees I ordered the nacho's which surprisingly came out as 6 large chips dressed like nachos. They tasted great but I will probably not reorder them again as I wasn't overly impressed. Three of my colleagues ordered the fajitas. They looked and tasted wonderful. I would highly recommend them. One other person ordered the tacos and they also looked amazing. The table next to us ordered two taco salads. They looked amazing. I plan on going back again. read more

The food is terrible. I ordered a variety of tacos, and they were all terrible. The beef and the chicken were incredibly under seasoned. Essentially the taco had plain and soggy meat on the worst shells. There was an actual shower of grease falling out of the tacos. I love Mexican food, but this wasn't even authentic in the smallest way. It was less authentic and less enjoyable than even Taco Bell tacos, except it was quadruple the price. $13 for 3 tacos, just pathetic. I mentioned to the bartender (sat at the bar) that the food was disappointing and showed the tremendous amount of grease covering my entire plate, and she didn't seem to care. She just brought be the hilariously high bill. I couldn't recommend strongly enough that you eat ANYWHERE but here. Not exaggerating, Taco Bell is a better choice. Blue sombrero is also good. There are actually several good Mexican restaurants in the area, but this place is neither Mexican nor good. read more

Food is fantastic! The table-side guacamole is the best I have had. You could make a meal out of chips and salsa they are so good! The reason I am only giving 4 stars instead of 5 is once we got our meals the server was no where to be found, we didn't get refills on our drinks until we were done with our meals. If I could give the place zero stars, I would! Overpriced and disgusting. Food was served in literally 4 minutes which tells me it's pre-cooked. Chicken fajitas for one, were $20 and not even sizzling when they came to the table. Chicken was lukewarm and tasted like seafood! After further review, the manager did confirm that they use they same grill to cook their fish, shrimp, and chicken. so unacceptable. My two friends and I were in town for the (frigid) weekend of February 1-3 for a Christian men's conference. After the GREAT conference we passed Uncle Julio's and noticed that the parking lot was packed at 4:30 in the afternoon. We decided to consider it for dinner since we have a Southern California / Southwest background and love Mexican food. When we got back to the hotel I Yelped Uncle Julio's and was surprised to see a 3.5 rating. After reading the reviews we decided the other reviewers must have been depressed because what they wrote did not match the grade. As it turns out we were correct. When we arrived at around 6:00 the place was hopping and we were told that we would have an hour wait. Not a problem, what else did we have to do. Everyone was having a good time and so were we and as luck would have it we found a tall table for 6 in the bar which we shared with a local retired couple and we had the best time. The waitress and the servers were great. The food lived up to the Tex Mex title but was exceptionally tasty. I had the beef fajitas and they were as good as I have ever had. All of that and the kitchen must have been on overdrive because the food came out really fast. We all gave our entire experience 5 stars. We will be coming back again next year. We called ahead of time to make a reservation. When we arrived there was no table ready. We waited over 30 minutes to finally be seated. The chips were extra greasy and really thin. The food was not great. The portions were small for what I paid. I will not be returning. read more

The place was packed on a Thursday at 5, we walked in with no reservations, yet immediately were seated. Drinks arrived quickly and so did the food. Drinks were overpriced. Margarita, although it was good was $10 and it was in a regular high ball glass. The food was also quite good, although, a bit overpriced. We were celebrating a birthday and the waiter brought their standard "birthday treat", a mini Cajeta, which was very good, however, we were charged for it, which we thought was funny.
