I really enjoyed my meal and drinks here. The servers are very quick with taking orders and we never waited long for anything. They offer a variety of different margaritas that I don't think you can find other places. We sat right at the bar, but they also offer a to go service for people that want to wander the market. The food came out in a decent amount of time (given they were busy with Sunday funday/ other orders) my tropical burrito was very big and each bite was delicious. This place is below O. After many times of giving them our business ...they continue to be extremely ignorant to business and how it works. This is the most unbelievable horrible service ever. I work in the service industry and these individuals are the bottom of the pit. How they continue to be in business is baffling. They are rude- they give you ugly faces and hiss at you- they pretend to not speak English OR Spanish LOL. On top of that their Margaritas are expensive- and they don't have the inventory claimed on the menu. In the past-- their margaritas were worth the buck --as of recent (in the last few times) their Tequila seems diluted- their margaritas taste like juice-- WHICH IF ANYONE KNOWS THE ART OF MARGARITAS IT IS THE OPPOSITE!!! I can only rate based on my 2 experiences stopping by to get a margarita while at the Milwaukee Public Market. I wanted a margarita - they have several flavors and willing to blend. Walk up service is quick. I purchased a margarita and received it rather quickly. However, my friend met up with me and I was at a stool and she was ignored forever.... as in 20+ minutes. It was not busy (off-peak hours, late afternoon on a weekday), and everyone one either side of us was served. It was really strange considering it wasn't until I spoke up that the employee came to take my friend's order. I like that they blend flavors, so I can get my absolute favorite Strawberry Banana marg, but I was not impressed by the service I saw others receive. 4 stars for the margarita, 1.5 stars for the service on both occasions. read more

I absolutely was disgusted by their service and the food was not good either. I ordered the Tamales and they had no flavor just a large jalapeño inside and hardly any cheese inside. Lot's of food options and drink options available at the Public Market just not this place IMHO!!! Sorry no photo was so taken aback by the whole experience. Margarita Paradise was honestly a staple for my friend group when we went to college in this area. There's nothing like a Third Ward Margarita on the rocks after a refreshing walk. Now, I still like to stop by for a quick burrito and Corona before any concerts on Summerfest grounds. The Verde Burrito (Asada filling) was my personal favorite. The staff is always pretty short with customers, leaving no room for friendly banter, but hey they get the job done! Everyone enjoyed their food, and I appreciated the convenient location--just a few block walk from the office--and that the walk-up window right on Water Street made it easy to get my food and go. Some minor hiccups prevented this from being a 5 star experience (I really wanted to, and would go a solid 4.5 here): - The website was a bit troublesome. Sometimes the link to the online menu would work, other times it would not. - I provided the names for each order but none were identified as such. This is so key right now, no one wants someone else pawing around their lunch to see if it's theirs or not. - I ordered three chicken tamales, but received two chicken and one pork. Normally I wouldn't care, but the chicken were far superior in taste and flavor that I felt a bit robbed! Hands down the best enchiladas I've found downtown. Packed with flavor, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. I always see the same people working, so my guess is it's family owned. Usually, we order custom - chicken enchiladas with pablano sauce (not on the menu) which comes with rice and beans... even the rice is off the hook! I haven't tried the margaritas, and I'm not a huge fan of the hustle and bustle inside the public market, but come during lunch on a weekday and it's not bad for casual dining. read more

I have been to Margarita Paradise Mexican Restaurant a few times and ordered the burritos. They are very filling and a good portion! What I always return for are the nachos! For my birthday, all I wanted to try was three portions of their nachos and that's exactly what I did! My two best friends and I went to the public market and ordered the three nachos : 1) poblano nachos - they use their special sauce 2) tropical nachos - topped with pineapple salsa and mango salsa 3) spicy volcano nachos - very spicy! I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Mexican food! The public market is also a great place to eat and try a variety of things! As a California girl in Milwaukee, ask me what I miss the most. Authentic Mexican food! I've lived in the Third Ward for over a year and this past weekend was the first time that I've stopped by Margarita Paradise. Wow. Yes. Carnitas heaven. I love that they have traditional style tacos with just cilantro and onion (there are other topping choices too) and the chicken tamales were authentically delicious. I'm a sucker for a good carnitas and the tacos did not disappoint. We started with chips and guac and their mild salsa. The salsa was wonderful but I was disappointed with the salsa. It tasted like the premade stuff that you can buy and defrost from the grocery store. It was very smooth and had no chunks of avo which made it not taste fresh and house-made. Correct me if I'm wrong though! Geoff got a taco plate that came with rice and beans and I was surprised to see that the rice was white and not red/Mexican. The bite I had was yummy though. My only real complaint was the bar, actually. I typically love (and prefer) to sit at the bar, but this one has an obnoxious 6-inch lip that prevents you from pulling your plate close to you. I stopped by yesterday to grab a burrito to go and for the first time ever, had a horrible experience. So bad that I walked out. An shorter, older man in a turquoise polo shirt waited on me at the to-go counter. He was extremely rude, impatient and nasty acting. When I realized this was going south, I asked him if we could re-group, slow down and start over. He literally said "no, I had to take him as he was." I refused to pay money to be rushed, insulted and spoken to in a condescending manner. A young woman was sitting next to the spot I was in, and she asked me "are you going to take that? I wouldn't!" Being older myself I decided to set example and not take it. I walked out. This is not normal for them. I eat there twice a month. I will not eat there again if this person is still there. I was standing at the corner of the bar next to the take out register but still AT the bar I stood there for over 15 minutes being ignored and watching the bartender help 3 other people that walked up and ordered drinks and left the bar (just like I wanted to do.) My first time in the Third Ward in a long time and while a couple of the places in the public market looked good and intriguing, I was needing some tacos. And a margarita. Pretty disappointed over all - the margarita was very, very sweet and was hard to drink. The carnitas taco had good flavor but unfortunately one of them was about half fat in the form of a large chunk. I believe a little attention to detail in the kitchen would have gone a long way. The remaining order was incorrect but tasted fine. There were limited menus around to look at while you waited in line to place your order so it's definitely a place where I'd recommend knowing what you want ahead of time. Next time I find myself downtown I'll go elsewhere; first impressions weren't super positive in general! I'll start with saying the food looks spectacular, visiting Milwaukee public market and trying to show off to friends and family snap A picture here. The food is plated in an artiste fashion like it looks like I was dining in gourmet, now the down side the food is all covered in the beautiful sauces it's hard to handle and eat without making a total mess.
