Strolling around the MKE market for dinner, this place hit the spot. We were able to relax at the bar listening to good music and having great food. Chips and salsa paired with guacamole were a great starter. Food was pleasantly unique while also remaining authentic. Bartender was attentive and resonated a great cope to the rest of the customers.

The service was quick and friendly. The food was just outstanding, both of our dishes were fresh, quick and delicious. We in the Milwaukee Public Market and despite it being lunch time was not overly crowded. Great atmosphere all around.

We had tacos and nachos. The tacos weren't bad but the nachos were like soup. Soggy chips! It was crazy busy and the lady taking orders was nice but sorry I can't eat your food again.

    Pork Tamale

The tamale was fantastic. Chips and salsa not so much. The margarita was on point. The gal that helped me was not friendly at all. But overall, the food made up for it!

First time here. I ordered a Paloma and it came with a paste called Chamoy. I wasn't familiar. Bartender was an ass. Told me it's like asking what is an apple. If you do t know...look it up. I did.

Margarita Paradise was honestly a staple for my friend group when we went to college in this area. There's nothing like a Third Ward Margarita on the rocks after a refreshing walk. Now, I still like to stop by for a quick burrito and Corona before any concerts on Summerfest grounds. The Verde Burrito (Asada filling) was my personal favorite. The staff is always pretty short with customers, leaving no room for friendly banter, but hey they get the job done! Definitely recommend grabbing a margarita to go on a beautiful summer day in Milwaukee- you won't regret it.

    Horchataaaaaaaa!!!!!

I had the most amazingggggg hot horchata. Amil I believe is the owner who served me the entire time I ordered volcano nachos and a Al pastor taco which were delicious! He saw my nose dripping from the heat of the food I guess and he brought me out this horchata...THIS IS THE BEST HORCHATA IVE HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. If you don't get ANYTHING else please come to the market and try this...it's unreal. I asked him and he said his mother makes it and I promise you that's exactly what it taste like...like home. Highly recommend...come enjoy and be happy!

    Taco Plate

The Milwaukee Market has a whole wealth of food options, but this seemed like the right choice. Pull up a stool, order some chips and queso, and grab a specialty margarita. I know what you're thinking "I don't want to sit in the market for 30 minutes waiting.." well ya won't! Exceptionally quick and great service. The taco plate with chorizo checked every box. I give 5 stars out like your grandma giving candy out on Halloween but this one.. this one is special

Used to love this place! Food is good, but I've never met a street taco that's worth $5.

For our entrees, I got the taco truck dinner with pork pivil as my meat of choice. The meat was juicy, tender and had lots of flavor! The pinto beans had a nice smoky flavor. My boyfriend got the queso chimichanga. It didn't come with rice and beans, as they are inside the chimichanga. We both agreed, the queso was a nice addition to the chimichanga. I would definitely come back to try more of the menu!

The guacamole had a strong citrus flavor which I am a fan of and the salsa was complimentary! I would HIGHLY recommend the best burrito ($15) as they did not skimp on any ingredient, especially the flavorful pork pibil. My only qualm was that the rice was undercooked and slightly crunchy, but otherwise an affordable and tasty restaurant for a date night. The staff were friendly, service was fast (less than 10min to receive food after ordering) and the restaurant had bright and colorful furniture and decor which were true to theme.

It's Saturday and I'm thinking......Don Lucho!!!!!…read more The team has been up since late night roasting and boiling and creating the most amazing carnitas you will find in Milwaukee. Get here early - parking sucks, and suburbanites will freak out at the hood, but no worries Jesus is right next door at St. Josaphats basilica and will watch over you. And don't forget to take a tour of one of this country's most beautiful cathedrals. Right there by Don Luchos. You can eat here. Lots of long communal tables so don't be shy. Prices aren't cheap but this is quality. I usually get a pound or so of carnitas. They measure it out, it's steaming, and ask if you want it chopped. I say yes. It's wrapped up tightly and it will feed you all weekend. This meat is freaking amazing!!!! I pray they haven't run out of homemade tortillas, but like I said, you gotta come EARLY. Sigh. There's about 6 different amazing salsas to try. Smoky, fresh, green, red, hot sweet - I get two for the weekend. I consider a quart of menudo. I think about. Lamb, goat, barbacoa, chorizo - but I have enough. Too hungry to wait to go home, I sit down to eat. Two tacos - huge! The best was the barbacoa - tasty little carmelized deeply flavored meat bits. Hey - don't go expecting American extras like sour cream or cheese. This is the real thing. Warming: one taco will do you. Got a side of rice and beans - yum. Don Lucho is a treasure. It is authentic, mom and pop, and these are the businesses I love to support. For an incredible adventure and source of authentic carnitas, git yourself down to da south side ya day hair and ENJOY!!!!!!
