We visited on Sunday May 26, at 4pm. We waited at our table for over ten minutes before anyone greeted us. There was enough staff they just bypassed us. Our food was delivered fast, and our server checked on us and we never seen him again. I sat with my plate on the side for over 20 minutes. I read the mixed reviews and found my dining experience to be excellent. The 4 of us ate for an expected bill of 35/ head. I was not surprised by the prices a brookfield location must charge versus the numerous milwaukee based mexican restaurants. If your on a budget then this is not a cheap date place. The server was attentive and the food was better than the reviews I read. Reservation on line are booked weeks in advance to book an available time. Its popular because its new but will stabilize in a few more months. The fajita with shrimp/chicken/steak was fantastic. I only wish they would have chimichanga as an option. read more

Skirt steak with garlic better is the besttt also try the pineapple pico. There drinks are great in my opinion best Mexican food in the area even tho they are a chain it is authentic Mexican cuisine. There piñata desert is amazing as well and the kids really enjoy breaking it and eating it a lot of fun for the family. Okay, I am from New Mexico where there is an abundance of VERY GOID. Mexican restaurants to choose from. So putting that aside I was prepared for an El Toronto ( tasty Mexican place for gringos afraid of hot/ spice!) experience. I visited this place on a Sunday evening which was our anniversary. Once we got seated we could tell they were not really trying to be festive nor interested in providing a fun , or at least, above average experience. I had a classic margarita with way way too much ice. I ordered enchiladas And my husband ordered Tex mex both combos. My son ordered chicken and shrimp fajitas our starter was cheese quesadilla. The quesadilla was super bland no sauce no salt no flavor at all. My enchiladas were ok. The hamburger meat and rice had been sitting around for quite awhile. My husband was begging for salt. We made our reservation on line and were immediately seated. Unfortunately they have an outer room facing the parking lot. The inner dinning areas were fine, but this room was very cold. I has to go out to my car and bring back a down coat and sweatshirt for my wife and daughter to be comfortable. My guess would be around 60F or less, since it felt warmer outside where it was a cloudy upper 60s. Our waiter was prompt. My wife was impressed with my daughter and my being able to understand his "Spanish". We explained later that he had been speaking English and not Spanish, and we could only understand a few words of that. I am not saying not to hire Hispanic waiters. Just that they need to really slow down how fast they talk. When it came to the food, it was Ok but not great. The chips and salsa tasted ok. The bottom half of the chips were to broken up to be used for dipping. The salsa was not the chunky variety and a bit bland. My wife said her rice was a bit underdone. I prefer refried beans, instead of baked beans that were only slightly better than out of the can quality. I thought both the quality to price, and quantity to price ratios are better at El Beso. If you want more authentic fare, head to the upper south side. read more

There is a reason why I gave this place 1 star... First of all me and my daughter meet up with friends in a friday night to enjoy some food mexican food. We come with our chips and salsa right away (wait for it) so then we start ordering. So I order the Cheese and Onion Enchiladas. We wait for over an hour to get our food, and that was a little frustrating. I was fine that we finally had our food, but when my food comes. I get a cold cheese stick that you could buy at a store, wrapped in a cold tortilla, dosed and drenched in salsa!!!! What the heck is this kind of service. So then my friend talks to our waiter, (she has a very tight personality) and she tells the waiter, "So how would you explain this?!" The waiter has a horrified and embarrassed looking on his face and then says, "well our cheese comes in large craters from fresh cows." Umm excuse me, what does that have to do with anything?!! I heard mixed reviews on service but our server was excellent. Disappointed by the limited range of margaritas. Jose's Blue Sombrero has more flavors. But my lime frozen tasted fresh, though not quite as strong as one would like. Tableside Guacamole was free if I downloaded their app, but we couldn't eat it because the chips were way too thin and greasy. They just crumbled in our fingers and into the guacamole. We got steak fajitas for two. Holy high prices, Batman. $37. Not worth it. Very little meat and peppers. Mostly onions. The rice and beans were ok, and I could barely build two wraps before I ran out of ingredients. The meat was cooked well but not very seasoned and a little too fatty for my tastes. I visited uncle Julio's a few days ago and returned quite sad. Most of the people I know had dined there and raved about how amazing it was. When I went with my family I was sadly disappointed there prices were outrageous and the portions were small. Not to mention many sides to the dishes were extremely unappealing. Later that evening I went to the restroom and they were very dirty with things on the floor and water from the sinks everywhere. My waiter was extremely quiet and spoke with an accent (something they couldn't change) so I wasn't able to hear him very well I hope my opinions can be changed in the future if I ever return. read more

I was overall disappointed in the quality of food we received. They had next to no vegetarian options, which is surprising for a Mexican restaurant. Of the three I identified on the menu, I settled on the cheese and onion enchiladas. Upon ordering, I was told none of their sauces (except for the complimentary salsa that comes with the chips) are vegetarian. I was told I could order the enchiladas and then pour the salsa over them. I ended up doing that and while it did not taste bad, the cheese used in the enchiladas seemed of a melted variety and not fresh. The cilantro rice was the tastiest thing I had. I am very disappointed in the lack of vegetarian options and the lack of accommodations for them. Mediocre overall. read more

The atmosphere is fantastic. The food is great. The Margaritas are the best. But any restaurant that charges me $4 for some salad dressing (I didn't know if I would like the vinegarette it came with so I asked for ranch as well) is not for the consumer. They should at least warn people. They also never offer guests to enroll in their rewards program. I found it online and 5 individual friends who had dined there before had never heard of it although they were frequent diners. I've never been to this place... however after making a call speaking to the manager today I will never give them my business. I went online to book a reservation for SUNDAY May 19th for 20 people. (For my son's senior graduation) The website directed me to contact someone to book my reservation due to the number of guest. I then call and wait on hold for 25 minutes for the manager to tell me they do not take reservations on Sunday and they are willing to take mines however the tables are not promised together. My first issue is the website does not state no reservations on Sundays instead it directed me to call and waste 25 minutes of my time ON HOLD. My son is graduating do you think we would like tables away from one another... this place isn't that busy not to keep it professional or to make your website more accurate. read more

My wife and I went here last Saturday May 4, 2019. She had Fajitas with rice and beans and I ordered tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were not bad. My wife thought the Fajiata was awful. It came with only four small chicken strips that were chard black and fatty. The rice and beans were way off the mark. Rice was dry and beans were weird, not Mexican style but more like bean soup that had no flavor. We each had one Margarita. They costs $9.00, each and come in a 6 oz. glass with mostly Ice and tasted nasty. Then you get to do the credit card payment yourself. I selected "receipt requested" and never did get a receipt. The bill was nearly $70 for two bad drinks and two entree's that were not all that great. I guess the ambiance is nice but not really worth the price in my mind. read more

I've eaten in the restaurant once before and ordered takeout twice (once called in and once scheduled pick up with over an hour notice). The food is good and the servers are very nice. However, I stood waiting over a half hour after the scheduled pick up time for my takeout order both times. The kitchen was "backed up" despite putting in my order ahead of time with plenty of notice. The food I ordered was quite good except the guacamole. You will be screwed like I was. 90% of what was in the container was chopped lettuce. That is bullshit. I did mot look at my receipt, I just provided my credit card. But, I know I paid through the nose for that. I am also positive that the prices here are high.
