I ordered a Stromboli with black olives and an antipasto salad. The bread and cheese in the Stromboli were good but I couldn't get over how many black olives were in it . They tasted like they opened a can and dumped in. Literally, every bite was full of block olives. I love black olives but this was honestly inedible if I didn't pick them out. The antipasto salad was average but the Italian draining tasted like it came from a jar. Was hopping for a more homemade dressing. read more

Waited for 30 minutes (my whole lunch break) on my food, Sub was soggy and tasteless. The fries were cold and were also tasteless. Kitchen staff were more focused on drama than on cooking, as I saw them make 2 other orders wrong for other customers. Will not be returning or recommending it to others. read more

Very disappointing. Poorly prepared pizza. Crust was burned on the bottom killing whatever flavor it might have had with a bitter taste.

Had a awful interaction with the owner. Our food was put in incorrectly, and living near by we took the food back. Were told by a lovely young lady our food was put in wrong, and she would kindly remake our order for us, as well as allow us to keep to the incorrect order for the inconvenience. We went back in to pick up our correct order and were met with an extremely rude older woman claiming to be the owner, questioning us as if we were trying to pull one over on her. After repeatedly showing her our receipt, that she demanded to see before even bringing our order, she finally gave us our food with a snarky remark and face. O/10 will not be returning! read more

Two girlfriends and I were meeting for lunch one day. The restaurant we were originally going to ended up being closed while Uncle Louie's was nearby and open, so we went there instead. We were seated quickly and had the best service from Alexis! I really enjoyed the chicken parm sub, one friend loved her reuben, and the other friend got a side of meatballs which were delicious. Alright, I had a burger from here and it was extremely good. The waiter was super nice as well, I didn't really care too much for the inside but hey we sat outside and ate. I've never had food poisoning in my life ever. That day it changed, I got so sick that without exaggeration I spend from 3-6am sick as a dog in the bathroom. I've never had a problem before, never have I been that extremely sick in my life. Momentarily it was worse than having covid. Regardless. I think they have some sanitary issues that were overlooked. I genuinely would leave a 5 star if it wasn't for that. It took a day or two to recover on the other side I don't think it deserves a 1 star either because the waiter was super nice and was very ontop of everything. read more

The pizza slice is bigger than my face! I got the Combo 2 for $7 which was a cheese slice, side salad and drink (extra $ for toppings) The pizza was crispy, cheesy and tasty. My salad was kinda sad. My husband got the Stromboli and it was very big and filled with goodies. We took half of it home for another meal! The staff was friendly and the place was fairly busy. Went here because Hoobie's NY pizza and hoagies was closed due to a family matter. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and side salad. The pizza was ok, nothing special that makes me want it again. We did eat the entire salad though. Wanted to like this place as it was so close, but maybe other menu items are better. Maybe have to give it another chance in the future. Good food. I like that they offer slices, but they just throw toppings on cheese slices with a little more cheese, then reheat the slice. Tasty burgers for sure. Wings are good but occasionally not great- maybe different chefs on different days? I went in to pick up food a could weeks ago. The carryout service table was careful with masks, but the bar was packed elbow to elbow with no one wearing masks, including the bartenders. I haven't been back. One reviewer mentioned the cigarette smokers out front. Is there always one out there? I was assaulted by the smoke before I stepped up the curb. Dang where shall begin? Tried to have lunch here about 2 hours ago (11:30am 9/11/19) and ended up walking out. My wife and I ordered the 2 pizza slices lunch special. Not to complicated, right? Wrong! Around at the 20 minute mark we hear the cook ring the bell for food in the window. Our server went to the window twice and walked away. I am literally watching my food in the window for 15 minutes. She finally brought us our slices and as you would imagine it was cold. I took one bite of my slice and sent it back. The server shook her head at me, like it was my fault. And now for the best part. I watched the server walk the pizza back and then I watch the cook put my pizza slice, that was in my mouth, back into the oven. We put a $5 bill on the table for our sodas and walked right out and went to The Sawmill. Should have given this place negative stars. Don't waste your time nor your money. We went here for dinner last night. It's nice, clean, and cozy inside. We sat ourselves down and a waitress immediately came and took our drink orders. She was kind and very attentive. We started with the garlic knots. The outside was crispy and delicious but unfortunately half of them were raw inside. We got our meals. I ordered the classic sub and boyfriend ordered the Stromboli. The fries that came with my sub were not anything to write home about: I prefer seasoned and more crispy fries. But the sandwich was amazing: fresh, tasty, and very well balanced. But what stood out to me the most was the bread! Super crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. I asked them to leave the Italian dressing off and on the side and I'm very glad I did: it was just olive oil that tasted old. I had a taste of the Stromboli and it was very good! After we had a drink at the bar. The drinks were very well priced and the bartender was fun and personable. This review is for the food only, which is delicious, probably the best pizza in town. The atmosphere however leaves a lot to be desired. We have been there for dine in twice in the dining room and both times the bar was packed to capacity (social distancing was enforced) and everyone was either totally inebriated or well on their way and still being served. They were so loud we had a hard time carrying on a conversation in the next room. Some patrons literally stumbled out of there. Wish they would clean up their act and become a nice Italian bistro. They certainly have the menu and cooks to do so. read more

I called and they said they could refund our money or we could meet them at Northchase for delivery. We live in Castle Hayne so I told her I would drive back over to get the salad. I've always gotten delivery or take out so I can't speak to the table service but I have always been pleased with the customer service I receive on the phone. I received the wrong toppings on an order once and they were quick to apologize and reimburse me. The food itself is delicious; I've had pizzas and salads from them and haven't been disappointed. Their crust is a great balance of chewy in the right spots and crunchy in the right spots. A great management team set a lot of the service issues straight but they left not too long ago and a new owner took over recently; hopefully any issues people had with service will be straightened out by now. Calamari was good. Not the best I've ever had, but the breading was crunchy and flavorful. It took almost 30 minutes to get our entrees after the app, and it seemed as though the waitress avoided our table the entire time until our order popped up at the window. The margherita was... weird. It had at least a full 8oz can of stewed tomatoes on it instead of sliced romas. They overwhelmed the whole thing with a tinny, soup flavor instead of freshness. Overall, my son liked the pepperoni and my husband liked the stuffed shell pasta quite a bit. Not my favorite pizza in the world, but I'll order something different next time.
