This place use to be great - wow what a difference a few months makes. Ordered the NY pizza has pepperoni and sausasge $20 hardly any toppings overcooked and dry paid $10.95 for kids alfredo pasta about 1 cups if pasta at best it was decent but crazy small for $11. Paid $35 for dispoointing food.

Girls with Dough is a pizzeria and pub located in Wilmington, within the Riverlights community. They offer a variety of handcrafted pizzas and Italian-inspired dishes, known for their fresh ingredients and high-quality dough. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere with views of the Cape Fear River. We ordered a plain cheese pizza along with something a little more adventurous. The Ms. Figgy pizza features a combination of fig jam, caramelized onions, gorgonzola cheese, and prosciutto, all finished with a balsamic glaze. This unique flavor profile offers a balance of sweetness from the fig jam and balsamic glaze, savoriness from the prosciutto, and a sharp, creamy tang from the gorgonzola. I will say that the fig jam was a little strong for me but overall the quality of the pizza's was amazing. Our 2 year old sometimes unruly boys were with us and the hostess went above and beyond to find us a spot in the restaurant that was secluded by a TV which she made sure to put on a kid appropriate show on to help entertain them. After awhile sure enough the boys got restless but the beautiful thing about this location is that we were able to pop them in the stroller and take them for a walk around the boardwalk on the waterfront which they enjoyed. I can't wait to come back and try their other menu items including their brunch! Girls with Dough offers a Saturday Brunch which is harder to come by than Sunday Brunch. Cheers to that!

We came here once and it was pretty good. We had an off the wall pizza - which was good - and wanted to come back for a "regular pizza", but when we came back it was randomly closed with no explanation on the door or I formation about reopening. It's out of the way for us, so we were pretty bummed out. I hope we will return, but we will definitely call first to make sure they are open.

Wow. The pizza is soooo good. And I have eaten a lot of pizza from around the world. The crust was cooked to perfection, not too doughy, perfect amount of cheese. Very, very happy.

We arrived a little before 6pm on a Saturday night and had to wait a few minutes. They texted me when our table was ready. While we waited, we walked across the street to sit in the chairs at the riverfront. You can see the sunset from inside the restaurant, depending where you sit. There is a bar inside with electrical outlets if you want to charge your phone. There are also some nice comfortable appearing couches inside with a TV- I'm assuming this is a waiting area. Free WiFi. We started off with Italian chopped salad. It was pretty small for the price. It was drenched a bit too much with their housemade Italian dressing. Could have used some black pepper. Nevertheless, the salad was still tasty and made for a petite salad for our party of three people. We tried the Margherita and Diavola pizzas. Their pizzas are 14 in and can feed one to two people each. There is gluten-free crust available for an additional charge. I didn't care for the Margherita pizza, but I did like the Diavola pizza. I liked the spiciness the cherry peppers added to the Diavola pizza. I didn't like the fresh tomatoes slices for the Margherita, I would have preferred the traditional San Marzano tomatoes. The description on the menu for the Diavola pizza having basil was misleading. It was not fresh basil, it was dried basil. I asked the waitress to confirm as well. I wonder if this was a staff error as there is an older picture of what looks like the Diavola pizza with fresh basil. The pizza crust dough was great, was crispy, probably due to the pizza screen they had it on, which helps with air circulation. Crust is on the thinner side. They cook their pizzas in a 700° oven. The waitress honored our request to ask for a side of their homemade marinara sauce. The marinara sauce tasted okay, more on the sweet side. We ended the meal with chocolate molten lava cake and cannolis. They make the chocolate cake in-house. They don't make the cannoli shell, but they do make the cannoli cream in-house. The chocolate molten lava cake was great, I would recommend this if you like chocolate. Melted warm chocolate spills out when you get to the center. I wasn't a big fan of the cannoli. Interesting they used plastic plates, but still had silver utensils and glass cups. It lowered the quality of the dining experience. Perhaps their dishwasher was broken down, I don't know. Our waitress checked in frequently to ask if we needed anything. It was a busy full night and loud, but not too loud that we had to yell at each other to be heard. I would come back to try their other pizzas.

Really good pizza, great selection of beer, and friendly staff! We loved our waitress, she was so sweet! It took them a while to get us a table; we were the only people waiting, and there were multiple open tables. We also had to wait longer than I expected to get our pizza, but it was delicious! Other than all the waiting, it was a great experience! I'd go back when I wasn't worried about timing

The amazing margarita! ! All fresh delicious ingredients.

Asked for the full wine menu to be brought over: never arrived, ordered waters: 20 minute wait (first, only brought the sparkling water for my fiancé and then I had to wait another 10 for my own water), ordered a bottle of wine: 10 minute wait. The only thing that came fast was the food which was great, but that was only ordered after waiting probably 30 minutes at the table already. We weren't really checked on while eating, and I want to say it took 20 minutes for the waiter to come over for us to request our check after finishing (+ another 10 waiting for him to actually bring it over). I get it was a Saturday, but we ended up spending over 2 hours at the restaurant

She told us about all of the specials and gave us suggestions to help us select our meal, honestly her personality alone made us want to come back but the food sealed the deal. We started with the Filet Tartine which absolutely blew us away, then shared the beef Wellington and the brussells, this was our first time having a Wellington and on top of being delicious the tableside service was outstanding! The side of brussells were the star for sure, with pancetta and apricot, savory but sweet. So amazing. We also shared a few drinks throughout the meal, the tiramisu martini, the lemon meringue, gardens of Augustus, and the10 year tawny, everything was amazing, though we're definitely coming back for the tiramisu martinis! And finally, don't get me started on the view, the large windows face out over the river and look out to the battleship, we got there right as the sun was setting and added to the romance of it all. Overall we had the best Valentines anniversary of 4 years thanks the Ella and her team at Sugo, Thanks!

We were guided by other Yelpers' reviews. When booking our reservation, we opted to sit at the kitchen counter, which I recommend if possible. It's quite entertaining to watch the kitchen flow and various dishes be made. To start, we ordered the dates, croquetas, and the salad. All were delicious and light enough that we were still able to enjoy our entrees - agnolotti and the rigatoni. I hadn't read many reviews about the agnolotti but it was the star of the show. The rigatoni is their classic and doesn't disappoint. We already determined that next time, we'll need to try the beignets and possibly the lasagna! There were only 2 of us, so we had to limit our dishes. Service was incredible (attentive and friendly) and the restaurant itself is adorable. I totally understand why this is one of Wilmington's top-rated restaurants!

Unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing. Our group of friends ordered our entire meal at once and had just received our appetizers when a staff member abruptly came to our table and, in a very rude and confrontational manner, told us to "be quiet" because we were being too loud. We understand that restaurants have to maintain a comfortable atmosphere for all guests, and if our volume had become an issue, a polite and discreet request would have been completely appropriate. Instead, we felt embarrassed and scolded. The interaction left us so uncomfortable that one member of our party immediately asked for the check and told them we would be leaving before our entrées were even served. Rather than apologizing, showing any empathy, or attempting to salvage the situation, the staff simply brought the bill, set it on the table, and walked away. What was most disappointing wasn't being asked to lower our voices--it was how we were treated afterward. Hospitality is about making guests feel welcome, even when an awkward situation arises. There was no apology, no acknowledgment that the interaction could have been handled better, and no effort whatsoever to make things right. Given the restaurant's reputation, we expected exceptional food paired with exceptional hospitality. Sadly, while we may never know how the main course would have been, the service ensured we won't be returning.
