He kept the rosé coming, checked on me without hovering, gave me space when I needed it, and somehow seemed to know exactly what I needed without me having to ask. He did his job flawlessly, but more importantly, he showed kindness to someone having one of the worst days of her life. You never know what someone sitting at your bar is going through. After sitting by the window outside the restaurant for about 30 minutes, I asked if I could have a booth. I was initially offered a half booth. When there were a plethora of full booths available, I asked if I could take one. The response and hesitation made me feel as though I was doing something wrong for simply asking especially since I saw other guests taking their time at tables. I completely understand that P.F. Chang's is a restaurant and not an airport lounge, and I respect the need to manage seating. However, the interaction could have been handled with a little more warmth and hospitality.
