In front of the class the instructor announced, "you failed". Not once, but 3 times. I asked ,what can I do? Again he stated, "you failed." The staff Donny, Penny, and the old owner were always friendly, knowledgeable, and professional -- they made the place feel welcoming and trustworthy. Since the shop has changed ownership, things just aren't the same. The newer staff seems very inexperienced and not nearly as helpful. Customer service has definitely slipped, and the overall atmosphere feels less professional and less polished than it used to. On top of that, ammo prices are noticeably higher than what you'll find at big‑box stores, which makes it harder to justify shopping local. I used to rate Ironhorse a solid 5, but at this point it's closer to a 1. There is room for improvement, and I'd love to see the shop get back to the level of service and professionalism it once had.

Problems started when I went to their physical store to pick them up. The shop was clearly understaffed, and I waited about 20 minutes just to be helped. I also bought additional items that day. When I returned the very next day (Christmas Eve) to return an unopened item perfectly happy with store credit I was told by someone who appeared to be an owner or manager that they do not accept returns or exchanges under any circumstances. This policy was never explained at purchase, is not on the receipt, and is not listed on their website. I was also told at the gun show that exchanges were allowed. When I questioned this, I was met with attitude and dismissiveness, and the interaction ended with, "Well, I guess the conversation is done," as I was leaving. In 2025, refusing returns or exchanges even for store credit while advertising that you "care about customer satisfaction" is unacceptable. Once you buy something here, you're stuck with it. I won't be returning and would rather drive to a competitor.

For those who don't know a squib load is when the powder charge in a round is too weak. This can cause the bullet to get stuck in your barrel and if you fire another round it can blow up your gun. Don't rapid fire with this ammo, it's extremely dangerous.

Duncan, Sebastian, and Hunter have been a huge help in answering any and all questions that I come to them with. They take an educational approach with their customers, rather than a sales approach, which is always refreshing when going to a gun shop. You can definitely count on them to shoot it to you straight with no BS answers! They always have ammo (at great prices) and they have the best gun inventory around (when most shops are slim pickens!). DCF also just finished a solid upgrade to their range, so I highly recommend checking that out. And if you are in the area, I highly recommend signing up for a membership. The perks more than pay for the cost (discounts on guns and ammo, free range use, training classes, free FFL transfers, etc.) Well worth it! Here are some things to consider 1.) Low stock + high demand will always command a higher price at your local gun store. 2.) Only pay full MSRP for non display/ direct from manufacturer orders. NEVER PAY FULL MSRP FOR A DISPLAY FIREARM. 3.) If the dealers stock is limited to the display firearm, ask for an in store credit of their total dealer markup, typically 30-50%. Display firearms are not "new" guns 4.) Their website is great. I recommend calling ahead and asking for pricing, availability and best time to come in if you need help. Their gunsmith is still a waste of oxygen and your better off working the manufacturer directly

Some experiences last a lifetime; just like this one…read more I saw that this gun shop changed ownership and was now under "new management" so, because I live a convenient five minutes away, I excitedly walked in looking to meet the new owner or employees and browse a bit. I walk In to dead silence, even though, who I assume is the owner, saw me walk in and was at the front counter. I browse a bit and make my way over to where he was standing and introduce myself. Then quite innocently ask him, "so, are you from Parker?" He says, "I prefer not to say". And that's it. With awkward silence, I walked out very weirded-out by this interaction. Too bad; I'll never set foot back in this place again.
