I love this store. Everyone is helpful and knowledgable at the gun counter and especially at the checkout. There is a checkout lady there who seems to be running things and she is always so sweet to me and my dog, and she always gives him treats. They carry just about everything and the prices are reasonable. However, there are hardly ever any customers in there, making me worry that they might shut down the store. We are done coming to this location. The customer service is absolutely the worst. We came in one night after work to start the background on a firearm that was purchased online. They recently updated their hours so we arrived 15 minutes to closing. We went to the firearm counter where Barry was working. What a joke. He said the background takes 25 minutes and that he couldn't help us because his manager needs to approve overtime. He also was rude when we said "oh you close soon". We were met with "yeah, you didn't see the sign on the door?" No, Barry, we must have missed that. A lesson for our dear old Barry- customer service takes zero effort and a background check takes 6 minutes- I timed it when we went back the next day to complete it. This guy should work somewhere not customer facing due to his lack of people skills and rude demeanor. Dragged by the bf into the new Sportsman's Warehouse a literal stone's throw from the house, I was actually pleasantly surprised. Bright, open space and super friendly folks behind the counter. They carry every little thing you could possibly need for all your fishing, hunting, and camping adventures without being too overwhelming. No taxidermied animals posing in here, just all the outdoor goods. Prices aren't the best (as quickly proven by an Amazon search), but probably in line with the other big box stores nearby. Sportsman's Warehouse is now occupying the building that Gander Mountain used to. So if you were at all missing that store, I'd say come give SW a visit. read more

(Update) Pretty disappointed with a purchase I made here online. I ordered some 22 long rifle ammo that their website specifically said was gonna be ready for pickup that day. I figured I would just go pick it up the next day after work and it would be all ready. Once I got my order confirmation it said the order is "delayed" with no further information. It's been a week and still no more information on when I will get my ammo or when it will be ready to pick up. I normally wouldn't have a problem with this as most websites state that shipping times may be delayed a little bit but firstly the order isn't being shipped to me it's a pickup order and second, it said it was in stock and ready to be picked up that day when I ordered it. I've contacted customer service but no response just to let me know what is going on even. It's doubtful I'll be shopping here again. (Update) So I just got a notification that my order has been cancelled. Here is the snapshot. I guess this is what they consider "customer service". Won't be back that's for sure. read more

Yesterday was a rough day in the store. I was shopping yesterday at the Parker location and was approached by an older gentleman with my friend. He was an older man working there. He greeted us and we said thank you and walked away. He then told us he wouldn't let us get away that easy. He approached us and started to tell us a joke. Standing there to humor him, we listened to his joke. The joke was not in great taste. As United States Marines, we take suicide very seriously. The joke continued talking about a woman wanting to jump from a bridge. He then talks about a gentleman trying to save this person with a kiss. The joke ended up that the guy trying to save this person was a man and that he kissed a man. I really don't think it's appropriate to tell these jokes. I'm going through my own PTSD right now and have hard times to not think about suicidal ideations. Leaving there triggered me. Luckily I did have a VA appointment today and can get help. I hope this doesn't happen to any other person in this store. I'm in mental distress right now and do not appreciate this unprofessional manner in the store. I will not be returning. It would appear many things have changed at this location after reading the negative reviews. In truth their reviews sound a lot like when they initially were opening. Things that may not have been included in those review would be "limited items, likely delivery slowed due to COVID" I'm happy to report their shelves are now filled With items useful for the outdoorsman and at prices that even a kid that's saved allowance or cut lawns can afford. There's no fancy fish tanks or indoor fly fishing lessons, but that's in the name "Warehouse" I've had no experience that's negative in my interactions with the floor sales folks. This review is for the staff. For the most part, I have not had any trouble with the products (online and in-store), and their prices are fairly reasonable. My issue is with the "friendliness" of the staff members (specifically with the firearm folks). Talk about no personality! The few times I called to check on an order, it was like having my toenails pulled out with a pair of pliers: painful to say the least! There was a gentleman who was very rude and obnoxious. However, one of the staff members when I went in in-person did have a personality and was helpful when I had some questions. The highlight was when I purchased the wrong equipment, and the manager went out of his way to rectify the situation. His attention to customer service was unparalleled and focused on my needs. I let him know how much I appreciated his willingness to work with me in order to make things right. That's why I continue to shop there. I just wish all the staff members were of the same mind and approach as the manager. After working most of my life in the "service" industry, I wish more would focus on what that looks and sounds like. The only place I purchase my weapons. Had another great experience at this location. Picked up a new 12 gauge pump action to add to the arsenal. Mostly an AR guy but thought I might buy one. Got the best price and great customer service. Did a few deployments, and hearing people talk about tactics and guns outside of the military generally annoys the hell out of me, but the retired cop behind the counter, he knows what he's talking about. It's the first time I've ever been turned away with my state-issued tax exemption license. The manager told me that I had the wrong license. I've used that license hundreds of times and at multiple Sportsman's Warehouses. When I pressed him, he said "I don't know what you need but it's not that." The license states "State of Colorado Tax Exemption License..." 2 stars because I like Sportsman's Warehouse. Side note: I've always been a little turned off by the bro-culture of gun counters. I would try to leave zero stars but I have to leave one. Today I went into sportsman off of Parker Rd to get my pole relined with four dollar fishing line. They told me I had to purchase the line first, before having it put on my pole, which is new to me because I am in the store at least once a week. The young man behind the counter then proceeded to say he would need to escort me to the front to pay for my $4 fishing line. When I said "Oh, I normally don't have to pay for it first." The employee in a rude and sarcastic tone said "Well it looks like you're gonna have to do it today." In a very calm voice, I looked at him and said "Hey, man, don't be rude to me. That's unnecessary. I work hard for my money and choose to spend it here." He replied and said sorry and that he was having a bad day. He ensured me I would still need to be escorted to the front to purchase my fishing line. I let him know I thought that was unnecessary and that I did not need to be escorted and said "If there's a problem, matter of fact, I would like to speak to your manager." When the manager came back, I explained the situation to which she said "He has a choice if he wants to line your pole or not and he's the only one here that can do it ." I stated, I thought that was ridiculous because I'm the customer paying for service and all I'm asking is to be treated with respect and for the employee to not be rude to me. Without raising my voice or making any scene I said "Man, this is fucking ridiculous." To which the manager got in my face, pointing her finger in my face and proceeded to call the cops stating that I used vulgar language Now, I do realize that I did not need to use vulgar language but calling the cops on a black man - or any man - in these times over $4 fishing line, seems to be quite ridiculous and unnecessary to me. I do understand that it is hard to grasp that picture if you have not walked in my shoes. I know what you're all thinking, it's not about race. But this is a sad reality and what I experience on a daily basis. The fact that the cops could have stormed in with their guns drawn due to one phone call reporting an "aggressive man" rather than the manager taking time to display empathy and understanding, she choose to put my life at risk. This is my reality and the fact that I could have lost my life tonight over $4 fishing line sickens me and my family and we're honestly traumatized by the experience. All I ever want is to go in to the store and be treated like an equal. Even though we all have different walks of life, we are all meant to be brothers and sisters. The thing that upsets me the most, whether racially motivated or not, it is a simple experience like this that stands between my wife and I having a night out over dinner, ice cream, and purchasing fishing line and my life being taken for a $4 misunderstanding Again, my family and I are completely traumatized by this experience and I just hope nobody ever has to experience anything like this again from Sportsman's Warehouse read more

I know the COVID-19 is going on. But that makes no exception for an individual to walk around the store for 27 minutes and not be greeted by anybody, ask me how I was doing or if I needed any help. I had to walk up to someone behind the counter to ask him for fake aluminum rounds for miss fire / firearm jams training. He didn't even understand what I was talking about. I know that it's 8:30 at night and everybody probably wants to go home for Thanksgiving. As I was walking out the door lady was stacking Christmas gifts I was hesitant to turn around or even waste my time writing a review but I did and I asked her what the store managers name was. She didn't even seem concerned about resolving any kind of an issue. Wow is all I can say. I've never been to an establishment that looked more empty and desolate and in desperate need of customers. If you choose to go here maybe you might think about going to Cabela's or a different location maybe Douglas County firearms would be a better place to go to. Have been in the Parker store several times and the service has been poor. Despite a big sign on the front of the store stating they will price match anything - they don't. Showed them the BassPro ad and the cashier called his manager over, she called the store manager over, and he refused to match. My buddy got a price match in the SW store in Thorton on the same item. Parker store is the poorest run store in Denver and their staff is not well trained. Will not waste my time going back there again. read more

Went in this weekend to buy a handgun safe and other gear for shooting. This was the first time ever being in this store. Everything was clean though the lighting could have been a little brighter. Only complaint was when I asked the guy at the firearms counter where the handgun safes where he and about 3 customers (oddly enough) all just pointed in the general direction. After picking out which safe I wanted to buy and a range bag and a cleaning brush walked up to the firearms counter again. A different guy was there this time, didn't catch his name but he had a great beard, and asked if they carried any mags for a specific Bersa handgun I own. Unfortunately they don't, but right now no one seems to have any. But he did recommend calling a store that carries other, not usually popular firearms out in Byers. Turned out they did have a couple mags of what I was looking for. Now that's just great customer service. Kudos to that guy! read more

Would give this 0 stars if I could. I went in to buy a leftover licenses that was going on sale specifically at 11:00am. I was there from 9:00 to be first in line as there was only one tag for the unit I wanted going on sale. The manager and front counter worker knew I was there and would be waiting to buy the license specifically at 11am. They only have one register that can do license purchases and at 10:50 they decided to help 2 other customers buy fishing licenses, knowing that I needed to be ready at 11 for my tag. Instead of making them wait 10 minutes for me to go first, they decided to help the fishing license customers and did not get to me until 11:03 when the tag I was looking for was already long gone. You would think for a sporting goods store they would be well versed in the reissue process and understand the importance of helping a customer right when the tag goes on sale. Especially since the MANAGER was the one "helping" me. They could have sold the other customers the fishing license after they tried to help me since my tag was time sensitive. Will never go back to them for anything because of this. TERRIBLE customer service. Completely wasted 2 hours of my day that I had to use sick time at work for for no reason. read more
