The staff Donny, Penny, and the old owner were always friendly, knowledgeable, and professional -- they made the place feel welcoming and trustworthy. Since the shop has changed ownership, things just aren't the same. The newer staff seems very inexperienced and not nearly as helpful. Customer service has definitely slipped, and the overall atmosphere feels less professional and less polished than it used to. On top of that, ammo prices are noticeably higher than what you'll find at big‑box stores, which makes it harder to justify shopping local. I used to rate Ironhorse a solid 5, but at this point it's closer to a 1. There is room for improvement, and I'd love to see the shop get back to the level of service and professionalism it once had.

(Would give 0 stars if possible)…read more I purchased two pistols from this company at the Tanner Gun Show and initially had no issues. Problems started when I went to their physical store to pick them up. The shop was clearly understaffed, and I waited about 20 minutes just to be helped. I also bought additional items that day. When I returned the very next day (Christmas Eve) to return an unopened item perfectly happy with store credit I was told by someone who appeared to be an owner or manager that they do not accept returns or exchanges under any circumstances. This policy was never explained at purchase, is not on the receipt, and is not listed on their website. I was also told at the gun show that exchanges were allowed. When I questioned this, I was met with attitude and dismissiveness, and the interaction ended with, "Well, I guess the conversation is done," as I was leaving. In 2025, refusing returns or exchanges even for store credit while advertising that you "care about customer satisfaction" is unacceptable. Once you buy something here, you're stuck with it. I won't be returning and would rather drive to a competitor.

I did not have the opportunity to do the written test as we needed to start shooting. I fired 50 rounds. 32 were in the center target, 3 short of the 35 needed. I was there Sunday for a CCW refresher class which we all know is ridiculous but the instructors for the class made it a little less painful and were really great to work with. I live very close to a different place but would rather make the drive to this place. Thank you!

Picked up a Radian Raptor charging handle. I'm a first time AR15 owner and the kind gentleman(sorry I didn't ask his name) at the shop offered to drop it in for me if I had problems after he literally displayed with his own rifle, step by step how to do it. Went in to get it fixed, they kept it for nearly 3 weeks and could not get it fixed. Rob referred me to another shop, which of course I have to pay for to get his mistake fixed, so I asked to refund the $25. He threw a fit, gave me the money and said some sarcastic comments under his breath, e.g "next time don't rack the slide from the optic" which I told him I never did or do. So now I have a slide with a screw in it, have to pay to get it fixed (hopefully). And left with a bunch of unnecessary attitude. Every time id call to check on my slide, I would receive some attitude from Rob, the gunsmith. His work is questionable, and his attitude, inexcusable.

The premises are dingy and sparse, with limited selection on everything. They have some antiques (which are marked up to reflect paying the store's overhead and to which alternatives can be found if one does a basic Internet search) and some carry pistols; some rifles, but very limited selection, as well as a selection of "high cap" mags. Ammo selection was extremely limited and higher in price than the market rate. I was not greeted upon entry, nor engaged or offered help. This is ok as I'm one who prefers to be left alone to browse, but the staff didn't acknowledge me beyond answering questions, which seemed to be more of an inconvenience for the guy at the computer. Overheard a phone call while there; the caller was looking for a SCAR. The gentleman at the computer was rude and curt with the caller, then provided inaccurate information regarding availability, saying he couldn't get one and no one else could either. He also failed to offer alternatives to his shop for the caller's needs. A previous customer came in after having shot his new Glock over the weekend with basic upkeep questions and needs. The staff was poorly educated on what to offer and use, as well as useful information beyond Glock marketing material. This is a poorly managed shop with poor selection and high prices. Avoid if there are other local options.
